Air Bag Problems of Nissan Cube

The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 26v230000 (air bags), the dealer discovered that the vehicle was not equipped with a front driver's side air bag. The contact stated that the vehicle was purchased as a used vehicle from marty cancila Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (2175 n hwy 67, saint louis, mo 63114); who had not disclosed that the vehicle was not equipped with the air bag. The Nissan dealer had ordered an air bag for the recall repair. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 139,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Cube. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 26v230000 (air bags). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that parts were on back order. The contact was later informed that the parts were not available and were no longer manufactured. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Involved in a frontal crash where somebody made a left hand turn in front of me. I was going 40 straight on the road. Slammed on my breaks but still hit the turning car. The whole front crumped so the car was totaled but the air bags didn't deploy.

Takata recall. . . Have not received any other info other than 'match found', along with the statement that it should be fixed as soon as possible. Should I take it to a Nissan dealer; or wait to hear something from someone? usually the responses I have received state not to email back to them.

Since I purchase my Nissan Cube on cool mornings(under 60) the passenger air bag will be off when a 110 pound person is in the seat. After less than 5 miles of driving the air bag will turn on. The local Nissan dealer has had the car in 3-4 time and as there is no code in the computer they say they are not able to fix the problem. As most accidents happen close to home this could be a big problem.
