Water gets in the seal of the upper rear tail light/cargo light. The water leaks through damaging the headliner and carpet. Also blew my fuse and none of the lights work in it, as well as blowing out the fuse every time I replace it. There is still no updated version or recall for it all you can do is get a new one and hope it lasts a little longer.

The high mounted brake light on my 2003 Nissan Frontier has seals that are compromised. The light assembly takes on water causing the brake light to fail. Nissan replaced the light once during the initial 36 months of the original warranty and refuses to replace the unit again. Since the brake light is a safety component, I would appreciate your investigation of this complaint. It is my position that Nissan is responsible for engineering and manufacturing a safety component that works properly.

Everytime it rains the 3rd brake light fills up with water. Had Nissan replace it once and it still does it. Nissans fix to there problem isn't even a fix.
2002 Nissan fontier crewcab. The 3rd tailight/stoplight that is mounted to the roof has a design flaw. First water fills the light assembly then it leaks into the cab. The carpet in the truck is now ruined, along with the headliner. A heavy downpour will force cups of water into the cab - not just a few drops. See odi#10025784 - as mine is not an isolated case. This problem needs a Nissan service bullitin or a recall.
The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Frontier. In may of 2003, the contact noticed that the undercarriage of the vehicle was corroded. She attempted to apply the emergency brake and it locked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they replaced the emergency brake line and the muffler. In 2006, the dealer replaced the caliper, rotors, and the brake line for a second time. In November of 2007, the dealer replaced the gas tank due to corrosion. In November of 2008, the vehicle was diagnosed with major corrosion to all undercarriage compartments that were previously replaced. The vehicle will not be repaired. A report was filed with the manufacturer and they stated that the vehicle was not under a recall. They further stated that salt may be the cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 72,000. Updated 12/16/08
