I have a 2005 Nissan Frontier with 4,200 miles on it. About a week ago the truck died in the middle of the road. It was still running, but it would not accelerate. This happened one day after the engine check light came on. According to the dealer and the owner's manual, this shouldn't have been a big deal. Anyway, it turned out that I had a crack and small hole in driver's side tail light. The hole was the size of a ball. It had been raining for a few days, and apparently water was getting into this hole. The dealer told me, after 3 days with my truck, that water getting in through the tail light was the cause of my truck breaking down. The only thing done to correct this problem was replacing the tail light. They didn't check for other leaks, or other faults with the vehicle. It just seems absurd to me that a modern vehicle can be disabled by such a minor thing, and had this happened on the freeway there could have been a major accident. What they are basically saying is that driving this vehicle in the rain could cause a breakdown, and all they did was fix my tail light.

A voluntary recall was issued for the lamp socket replacement on tail light. This vehicle was not included under the recall due to VIN although vehicle was showing the same failure as mentioned in the recall. The tail light fell out of the socket.
Both lights and attachments by license plate fell out. Both bulbs and attachments were lost while driving 1 or two weeks apart. Airbag light flashing in past month. Have had mechanic check out and states fuse and everything is okay but the airbag light flashes continuously while vehicle is on. Firestone tires blew out at sidewall x2 tires at 30,000 miles. This was the original tires with vehicle bought brand new. Nissan or firestone stated could not reimburse for loss.
3rd stop/taillight on my 2002 Nissan Frontier fills with waterevery 1500 mile replaced 3 times without correction. This light is installed for a safety reason so I believe it should be in proper working order.

Brake lamps continuously fall out of sockets. This prevents both the tail lamps and the brake lamps from functioning. I found a recall for this condition, but it only applied to 2000 Frontiers.
Bulb to tail light pops out of socket lamp. Also, there is no brake light to warn another driver that vehicle is stopping or slowing down. Nissan is aware of problem. But, consumer's vehicle isn't ont recall.
