2 Steering problem of the 2024 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/18/2024

2024 Nissan vehicle was sold from rock hill Nissan with open voluntary recall on front rh lower link on 7. 18. 2024. Dealer responsibility it is the dealer’s responsibility to check service comm or dealer business systems (dbs) national service history for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the national highway traffic safety administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed. Repair was complete on 7. 28. 2024 at Nissan of gastonia. It took 4 hours. I'm unable to locate the paperwork but can request from dealership.

4 Steering problem of the 2003 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/13/2024

I was driving and my truck started drifting and I felt like I was losing control. Could of caused a very serious and dangerous accident - scared me to death, had just bought this Nissan, and love the brand. Had great tires and brakes just completely done. Brought it to my mechanic and he put it up on the hoist. Frame almost completely rusted out and through in many spots. They were surprised it did not completely come apart! extremely dangerous and they suspect like Toyota that maybe part of a NHTSA recall. I just checked and did not find one, but there should be, how many other un-safe Frontiers are out there be driven every day by the public. I can send pictures if needed, just need to ask mechanic to put back up on hoist, as he would not let me drive the car and it is still there. Horrific danger!.

7 Steering problem of the 2023 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 05/25/2023

Overly high arm strength is need to steer the truck, it's more like driving a b61 mack truck, . Nissan calls it road feel, it's more like tear your arms off, seems to be a common complaint in the generation 3 Frontier ,steering is to heavy steering radius is large making for parking in tight areas hard , they need to offer people in need a kit to increase the pressure or flow to decrease effort needed to turn the steering wheel.

8 Steering problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 05/22/2023

I purchased the vehicle in may of 2022. Since that time, the vehicle has had all safety systems report as failed on at least 11 different occasions. The vehicle will report "system failure", abs failure, traction control failure, forward & rear collision sensor failures. It was reported to me by the dealership that when this happens, the abs and traction control do continue to work, however I have had my brakes lock up and send me sliding down the road as a result of these errors. The errors can occur in any weather or environmental conditions -- they are seemingly random. The dealership has had the vehicle since 5/22/2023 and has not been able to find anything wrong with the vehicle. This is their fifth time attempting to diagnose and correct this issue. It was first reported to the dealership around 1600 miles, and now the vehicle is sitting around 39,000 miles. I have been unable to replicate this issue intentionally. It happens at random.

12 Steering problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 12/15/2022

This vehicle has less than 5000 miles. While trying to make a turn the power steering went out. Luckily I was moving at a low rate of speed but fear that someone else may experience this at a high rate of speed and end up with more tragic results. If they do not have the part to fix this vehicle as I am being told then why are they still building them. I am paying insurance on a vehicle that I cannot use. Either fix the vehicle or refund me my money because as it stands now this vehicle is totally worthless.

16 Steering problem of the 2008 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 11/04/2021

I was driving my vehicle and I ran out of gas. The gas gauge maintained a quarter of a tank and the gas light never came on. I check for recalls and it turns out this is a known recall for this vehicle, but it says 0 recalls. But the problem still persists, therefore the vehicle is still suffering from this problem. After filling the gas after the car ran out. I tested this theory 2 more times to confirm that indeed the vehicle was suffering from this recall, in which I run out of gas without knowing. Secondly, the links associated with the other recall, have also failed/failing as the vehicle is becoming unstable while driving at times and a mechanic has already determined the links to be the cause, yet when I check my VIN number, it says 0 recalls. Yet my vehicle clearly suffers from this. Can my vehicle please be added to the list, as this is very scary as the first time I ran out of gas I was on the expressway, and the vehicle sways yet it is not listed and needs to be for safety reasons and concerns. Thank you for your time, effort, and consideration regarding this, I await your timely response.

18 Steering problem of the 2019 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 10/12/2019

In October of 2019 we purchased a new Nissan Frontier with the rocky ridge package, which includes larger mud type mickey thomson tires. We had a vibration and driving issue. We took it in for repairs. The dealer re-balanced the tires and it got a bit better but not gone. We looked at the tires and saw that they call for up to 80psi. We increased the tire pressure and the truck began to drive better but the tire pressure warning light came on. We returned it to the dealer. They lowered the pressure to 35psi per the guide on the driver door frame. The truck drove sloppy on our trip home (appx. 55 miles). We then contacted the tire manufacture (mickey thomson) they took our information and said "do not run at 35psi. This could cause a failure. " they said run at 50psi minimum for this type of vehicle. The truck now drives good but the tire warning light will not go out. We have contacted the dealer many times but have yet to get a solution. My concern is that this truck was not properly labeled or set up for the tires it was sold with and the tire warning system is now of no value to us since it stays on all the time. Also none of the decals for tire pressure and size (factory or rocky ridge) describe the correct size or true safe operation tire pressure.

20 Steering problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/08/2018

Highway driving at 55 mph the engine stalled and stopped in mid-traffic resulting multiple system loss; including power steering. Warning lights that illuminated were service engine soon and, slip. Researching this combination with the associated engine failure shows a minimum failure of the cam shaft sensor and possible interference with engine cooling. Additional research shows that this a recall issue for Frontiers. But, when I entered my VIN into your system to check recalls, the reponse is that there are no recalls for this vehicle. That seems in conflict with what is being said about there being a recall and the obvious extreme danger of engine and system failures at highway speeds.

21 Steering problem of the 2008 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/17/2018

While driving the truck will shut off just like the key was turned off. This happened one or two times a day over a ten day period, I swapped my old key with my wife's key and the problem went away. I took it to a Nissan dealership and they wanted to do $7000 of repairs and nothing about the key and ignition switch problem. So I have been using my wife's key for the past five days and no issues. Nissan claims they never had any problems like this although the internet shows a recall in 2010 for 2003-2006 Frontiers for a very similar problem.

22 Steering problem of the 2017 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/24/2017

I bought a new Nissan Frontier sv crew can pick up. It has a terrible vibration from 60-80 mph. I have taken it to the dealer a couple of times. They changed out the tires and then told me it is normal for all of these vehicles. I believe this is a safety issue, because I can not drive very far without my hands going numb. It is impossible for me to drive it any distance on the freeway because of this issue. I am not certain it is the tires, but Nissan claims it is normal.

24 Steering problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/02/2017

My trucks steering system is making a loud noise when turning and going over bumps at low speed. When my truck is raised up and I turn the steering wheel there is no noise. When I lower it down on the ground and turn the wheel when parked it makes the loud noise. I checked recalls and there seems to be one for some steering wheel issue, but when I called Nissan they said my vehicle was not affected by that recall. After reading customer reviews, my vehicle is having the same problems that those customers vehicles were having that were affected by the recall. I am curious if not enough complaints filed for this specific year. Because why would my vehicle steering be having the same issues as the vehicles that were having that were listed on the recall. I really don't want to drive my vehicle and risk having my steering go out because of a defected part. My vehicle is babied and looks like brand new still. Always been kept inside garage during winter . This is the first winter it has been driven in snow and we have had snow only a couple times.

25 Steering problem of the 2012 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/03/2017

I bought new tires, same size and brand name as the last 4 tires but a different model type of tires. As I was driving the vehicle on a 2 lane road, the front passenger tire flew off the rim. The rim scraped the roadway and flipped my truck upwards and spun the vehicle up in the air over a guard rail and I hit into a concrete culvert. The vehicle was declared a total loss. The tires were installed by a shop, balanced and aligned. The vehicle was brought back a few days later to that same shop due to the vehicle shaking vigorously at roughly 40 mph. The shop rebalanced the 4 tires and rotated them. The mechanic advised me that the back driver tire had lost psi and was close to 30 psi, the cold psi on the tire says 50 psi. The mechanic advised me that a rotation was completed and that tire was now in the front passenger location and was inflated back to 50 psi. The shop mechanic also advised me that he believed the tire that was then in the front passenger location may be faulty in regards to the wire inside the rubber of the tire and asked where I purchased the tires. As I entered the highway with speed limit of 70, I could merely approach 60 mph with vigorous shaking. I advised the shop of this, but decided to go with another shop to check the balancing and preform a new balancing. The new shop advised me that the rims were not cleaned properly for the initial shop's weights to stay on and said the vehicle may had been throwing their weights off. Upon completion of the 3rd balancing, the shop had also installed a back up camera for me but did not hook the front air bags back up. These did not deploy during the accident. After the last balancing, the vehicle still shook at higher speeds but was much less than the other times. My vehicle never had any of these issues with the tires I previously purchased which lasted approximately 55,000 miles and never shook before.
