While driving in the rain, my 2014 Nissan Juke began to smoke underneath the hood. I immediately pulled over and a fire ignited, burning the front half of the car and totaling it. The fire department extinguished the fire. The fire appeared to start near the area of the driver side headlight. There were no warning lamps or previous symptoms.

Driving at 4:50am, it’s dark and raining. While driving I noticed fog/steam on my hood. Which sometimes happens when it’s raining. Continued driving but noticed it was still foggy/steam from the hood. I decided to go back home and wait until daylight. I don’t like driving in the rain or dark. As I entered my neighborhood, I decided to stop and see what was happening. Put my car in park and released the hood. Fire came from everywhere underneath the hood . I jumped out of my car and called 911. On hold for 7 minutes, hung up called the fire department, they directed me to call 911. Stayed on hold another 2-3 minutes and called none emergency police station. Dispatcher contacted fire department. No warning lights, sounds or indication of anything being wrong. I’ve had no issues at all with my vehicle. Very.
I was involved in a serious crash in a 2014 Nissan Juke. The vehicle broke through a fence, traveled downhill, and rolled multiple times before coming to rest upside down. The crash caused severe structural damage: roof crushed down to seat level windshield shattered rear of vehicle pushed into back seat door panels detached despite the severity of the rollover and final inverted position, no airbags deployed, including side curtain airbags. I was wearing my seatbelt and sustained ongoing nerve damage and pain. Given the rollover nature of the crash and severity of intrusion, I am concerned that the airbag system may have failed to deploy properly.
Nissan Juke nismo -under 30,000 miles. Head light covers discolor reducing vision. When driving at night or in heavy florida rains. . Also hazard to other divers. In addition, heat and air conditioning stopped working. Stong fumes fill the car with cabin possibly causing drivers to become disoriented. This is a driver safety hazard that could possibly cause a serious traffic fatality. Can not use the heat, defrosters, air conditioning or outside air circulation. Windows could fog up during our florida monsoon rains and drastically reduces drivers visibility . I paid a small fortune to have the vehicle heat and ac system tested at both firestone (who referred me to a Nissan), I had taken a printed copy of the firestone report to a Nissan dealership and they charged me a small fortune to run the same test firestone did. I was told that to repair the core processor (located behind the dashboard) it would cost me approximately $5,000 to repair. I was also told I needed rear brakes. I am a senior citizen living on social security so this repair cost is far beyond my income capability. These dangerous conditions restrict me from going grocery shopping buying frozen foods, dairy products, and other groceries required to keep cold. The discolored headlamps are dangerous and this hazard restrictes me from scheduling late afternoon doctor’s appointments and/or any driving at dusk or at night. .
Air conditioner leak in the evaporator core blowing strong fumes inside the car cabin. I had taken my car into firestone complete auto care to have my air conditioner checked because it was blowing hot air and filling the cabin with a horrible odor that was making me dizzy. They told me that they would put freon with a dye that would show any leaks. I was told that they did find a leak however they are unable to repair it. I was told and, the repair technician’s report says “ evaporator core leak “ dash removal would be required”. I was told the repair would take several days so I needed to take my car to the Nissan dealership for the repair. I truly believe that this leak is a hazard to drivers. I believe that the very strong odor leaking freon fumes blowing in to the cabin could cause a driver to become ill, dizzy, possibly disoriented, or possibly loose consciousness. Also, without climate control working, unable to defog windows during a heavy rain or snow storm could cause accidents. I hope you will investigate this problem and encourage other Nissan owners to report similar incidents and hopefully issue a recall and repair order for this dangerous problem. Hopefully it will prevent many accidents and injuries.
Please investigate air conditioning leak and create a recall. Dangerous fumes from evaporator core leak behind the dashboard sends out dangerous fumes through the vents. These fumes are extremely dangerous! can cause driver and passengers to get very sick and light headed even with the climate control turned off! Nissan told me it would cost almost &5,000 to fix it! my car is only 2014 has less than 28,000 miles on it. I am a senior citizen on social security and don’t have that kind of money! I was also said it needed new rear brakes. Air conditioner leak in the evaporator core blowing strong fumes inside the car cabin. I purchased this Nissan 2012 from Hyundai santa maria. It has had a problem starting consistently. There are recorded records all over the net. Simply google Nissan Juke push button won't start. I have already spent some money trying to figure out hte issue. People have been stranded in my car calling triple a. It drains the batteries which are $250 each. Nissan indicates that the remote keyless entry that stalls in the accesory mode. It has been 10 yrs an people are having to dump their cars. Mine I pay $224 a month an 11k loan for it to sit in my driveway. It is a danger as if the car cannot be started in a hazardous situation then someone will die.

Sept 2022 I bought my 2012 Nissan Juke from jeff wyler’s Nissan king automall. April 23 the left, lower ball joint/axle (drivers side) broke. Needed fixed. Almost $2,000. I specifically asked them to check right sided ball joint/axle. Oh it’s fine. We checked it out and it’s all good. Less than 3 months later-the right sided axle and ball joint broke. It only took over 6 weeks and 3 different places (discount tires, tire discounters and jeff wyler’s dealership) to figure out what was wrong with my vehicle at this time. This time it cost me more (but since jeff wylers mechanics fix things and then jack up the price by $800) it actually cost me $1550 to fix it this time. I could have died. On both occasions and now it feels like the backend of my Juke is shaking apart. I’m scared to death to drive my vehicle and I’ve told jeff wyler I think they sold me an unsafe vehicle and I am now terrified to drive it. But it’s the only car we have in our family and I can’t afford to buy another one. You have no idea as to how terrified I am to drive my car now; especially with that rear end shaking. Omg! I’ve never owned a Nissan before and this is my last I have also asked jeff wyler’s dealership-wouldn’t this have been caught on their inspection of selling a used car? wouldn’t the mechanic in April seen signs/symptoms of stress on the right sided ball joint when they looked at it when they fixed the left side? how do things like this get missed? & put my life in danger as well as every other person on the roads while I drove with broken axles and ball joints? how can they sell vehicles that are not safe? omg! you cannot comprehend the terrified feeling along with anxiety/nausea and just pure terror of driving a vehicle that shakes still and where I’ve had to fix 2 separate massive breakages in the driveway mechanics or frame (idk. The 2nd time it happened; I thought its a bad tire). I am now more religious and spiritual because of this. I now pray several times daily.
My sunroof spontaneously shattered while driving 25 mph and no other cars around me. This seems to be a regular problem known to Nissan but Nissan will take no responsibility for their defective product. $2000 for Nissan to replace.

I’m having problems with 2012 Nissan Juke cvt transmission. The dash light turned on “service engine soon”. Should I take to a Nissan dealership. Thant you.
Problem with evap system. Many different codes are showing which means paying an extreme amount of money to diagnose problem and repair. Could be solenoid issue with the turbo part. Cannot get my car smogged because of this. The need service light does not go off. I am going to have to spend thousands at the dealer. This should be a recall issue.

I just replaced my transmission and was told by the dealership of the cvt issues. It cost me almost $4k to replace when I picked up my car it was in worse condition and the turbo went. How convienant. Nissan has made my life so difficult and overwhelming and the service I've experienced is gross. I've put more money into this car then it's worth. Oh they also put wood blocks under my engine.
The car keeps shaking. My mechanic did say that Nissan Jukes have a faulty transmission. They did things to my car to try to fix it but I still find it shaking uncontrollably.

I'm online looking for a car to purchase and I clicked on this web site put in VIN #to see if any recalls were on this car I'm wanting to purchase. Priced over 8,ooo then it went down to little over 5,ooo checked into it because of such a discount.
My sunroof exploded for no reason. My car was parked in front of my house. Thank goodness I was not driving on the highway I take to go to work everyday. Weather temps were ideal not too hot nor cold. Unknown on how this occurred.
My backup camera is blurry.
My traction light and brake light repeatedly have come on and remain on over the course of the last year but have not come up as part of any of the safety recalls that are affecting other nukes that were built during the same time period. In addition, my car makes a humming sound as if engaging the traction system at each stop. I've had the car serviced and the brakes changed but to no avail, the lights have returned a mere 3 weeks after getting new porcelain brakes and rotors installed. My car is still not part of the recall but I do believe there is indeed an issue with my brake and traction system and it is going to fail me at some point despite Nissan not wanting to fix this.

When driving for 40 minutes or more, going 60 mph or higher, car will lose speed and eventually stop. No lights will come on and no warning. Gas pedal will hit floor but there will be no acceleration. Seems like turning off the car for 20 minutes or more will reboot it, but only for a short time period. This happens mostly on highways, not on smaller roads as stated previously you must be driving for at least 40 minutes or more going at least 60 mph or higher. Went to dealership and said it was a bad drive shift but unknown reason as to what caused it. Never had problems before this.
This Juke has been great until now a week ago. It has intermittently failed to start. All things check out good that usually cause this. The battery, alternator, starter, etc. We have had it leave us stranded and the mechanic cannot find anything wrong. There was a service bulletin sent out about 2011-2013 Jukes saying Nissan knows this is a problems. However the dealership knows nothing about it and less than helpful. They want to charge 160$ to see if they can diagnose it , but it must fail in order for them to diagnose. The problem with that is that it doesn't always fail. There are many days it starts without issue. I unfortunately don't have an extra vehicle to help get my family around while they keep it for several days. We bought this car used, and have had no issues until now. There are many complaints online about the same issue. Seems Nissan should own the fault and that dealerships should know how to help customers it doesn't always fail to start after it has been sitting. It could have been driven and then turned off to get gas, and then won't start. Oh and it always starts after the battery has been jumped off. What is that about since the battery test good. Seems electrical, or software update something. Please help. It seems that other customers have had the ecm reprogrammed and that has seem to help resolve the issue. Southwest Nissan is awful.
The check engine light has been turning on with a steady yellow orange color indicating a mass air sensor issue even after the sensor has been replaced. After several attempts to locate issue, no one has been able to find reason for check engine light indicator turning on. After researching this issue, many cases have come up with the same problem. It's time Nissan investigate this possible malfunction related to this indicator light. The light goes on when the vehicle has been turned on first thing in the mornings while parked in my garage.
My vehicle had started to struggle with losing speed/power while on the highway approximately one week ago. Began to notice a rattling noise along with oil leaking from my vehicle's engine a few days ago. Took it into the Nissan service department right way. Today I was informed that the timing chain had been stretched and was scraping against my engine, creating a hole and requiring a new engine. If I had been on the highway when my timing chain completely failed I could have been seriously injured or dead. Nissan quotes me at 9000+ dollars to replace my engine. They had a voluntary service campaign back in 2014 for defective timing chains in 2010 - 2013 Nissan Jukes. I bought my Nissan from an authorized dealership in 2014, never received any notice nor did any Nissan service department notify me of the issue when I brought my vehicle in.
Recently bought a car and took it in because of a clicking noise and they told me the timing chain was replaced at 46 k miles and now at 106k miles going bad again this could cause major safety issues and dealer is not willing to replace recalled item.
A/c when turned on makes car ididle in a different tune and hesitations. The brake clicks when pressing down .

I have a 2012 Nissan Juke and every one of the door lock actuators has had to be replaced. The problems started early on, but the door locks intermittently fail when using the key fob or external door button. Using the internal door lock button is more likely to work even when the key fob and external button fail. Because the failures are intermittent, it is hard to get this diagnosed and replaced at the dealerships. I have had to take the car to the dealership many times, pay a $200 diagnostic fee and then sometimes they replace the door actuator and sometimes do not. Over the past 4 years I have replaced 3 of 4 door actuators and will be replacing the 4th door actuator now. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs regarding the issue, as it is a known issue, but they refused to assist because the car is no longer under warranty.
The turbo component went out and its unsafe to drive, I am one month outside of the recall for this problem my car is a 2011 with 57k miles on it and the average for la is 12-15k. I am trying to open a case with Nissan to see if they will cover it considering their own mechanics told me I couldn't have caused this and its a manufacture defect.
Juke has difficulty starting sporadically. Attempted to change alternator and battery however it did not resolve the problem. Multiple dealerships were unable to locate source of the problem as it was hard to be replicated. Took car to have battery checked and they stated that there appears to be something draining battery when off. Car has left me stranded multiple times due to not being able to start.
The turbo charger is not working.
Rear seat latch release only won't fully release seat could be a safety problem if was in a wreck and there was a recall on the 2012 but mine is a 2014 with same issue Nissan won't do nothing to take care of this factory issue very un safe moving down the road.
I have had my rotors replaced twice within 8-12 months of putting new brake pads on. The rotors are again in bad shape 6 months after putting ceramic brakes on 7 months ago. My rear exhaust disintegrated and when I took it in to Nissan for a quote they informed me my catalytic converter had a 50/50 chance of going. My mechanic replaced the exhaust system for substantially less and showed me the corroded flange to the catalytic converter and also said it was bad. There is now a whistling noise coming from the front of the inside of the car by the windshield. I took the vehicle back in to Nissan to identify that issue and replace the catalytic converter. They couldn't "recreate" the whistling noise which I've captured on my cell phone. And they refused to replace my catalytic converter under warranty because my check engine light is not on and their computer did not flag a problem with the catalytic converter. I have put over $6,000 in repairs above normal wear and tear. I have no confidence it will even make it to 100,000 miles. A 2012 vehicle with 58,000 miles is a step up from a new vehicle. I am not willing to keep making repairs on a vehicle that is falling apart prematurely. I asked Nissan for compensation towards another vehicle (used is fine) with little to no out of pocket expense. They only consider a buy back of a defective vehicle and that investigation only considers repairs done at Nissan service centers. They would not accept documentation from other repair shops. I have already put in two complaints with Nissan and they offer no solutions. This is an inordinate amount of repairs for a 2012 Nissan Juke I bought new with only 58000 miles on it. And its unacceptable.
After only 5000 miles, my Nissan nismo Juke's clutch and flywheel burned out. Cost me $2500 to get repaired. They said they could not find any defects, but I have heard several other owners complaining about the same thing. How does anyone burn through a clutch in 5000 miles. It's crazy. That's my complaint. I have documentation of work done on the car to fix problem if needed.
Under warranty when taken to dealership warranty cancelled while at dealership and currently at dealership sonce 12 21 2017.
The Juke has had intermittent stalling and no start issues. The car has stalled while in motion as well as parked at idle. Once it stalls, it will not immediately start again. The dealer has been unable to determine the cause, despite having to pay for towing several times. The local abc affiliate has done at least two reports of other Nissan owner experiencing the same problem eluding to a heat related issue. If that is true, the temperature is cooling off here in the desert I\'m afraid I will not see this problem until spring and the warranty expires. Nissan has refused to repurchase the car to this point. Without my agreement, they have opened an arbitration case offering me $1500 "for my inconvenience". The car has lost more in trade-in value than what they've offered. Going through minimal carfax reports on Jukes, I've found a high percentage of Jukes with similar problems.
We purchased a brand new Nissan Juke 2013, including a maintenance and service contract. Over the past 3 years the Nissan Juke has refused to start dozens of times. We are petrified that it will stop running while we drive it. Often it will not even start with jumper cables. Despite having the Juke in and out of the Nissan dealership shop over the last three years, Nissan has been completely unable to determine and fix the defect. Each time Nissan simply charges the battery, or replaces it. On at least 8 separate occasions Nissan has cleared the Juke as ok to drive, only to have it fail to start within several months. We have been stranded many times, and now carry jumper cables and 2 hand held power starters, though these often fail to start the car. We do not want to resell this vehicle on the used market to unsuspecting consumers since the Juke in its defective condition is clearly a serious hazard to users and others on the road. We asked Nissan on April 12, 2017 to repurchase the vehicle, but they refused by letter dated April 21, 2017 since our lemon law only protects buyers for 20 months from purchase. We have a complete spreadsheet with attached invoices with complete details of all Nissan's attempts to fix the Juke and their excuses. This Nissan Juke has been the most unreliable and dangerous car we have ever owned, and Nissan's failure to adequately fix this defective car over the past 3 years has been shameful. This vehicle should be taken off the road before someone gets killed. While we were able to upload the spreadsheet, the exhibits were too large, and can be emailed on request.
While driving on the highway the sunroof on my 2011 Nissan Juke exploded. It sounded like someone had short my car. Thankfully the shade was closed or the glass wound have fallen down while driving, causing an injury or possible crash. The extreme noise itself was very scary and could have resulted in a crash due to being so startled.
Exploding sunroof. It had been snowing in central north carolina. I parked my car on Saturday afternoon at my apartment on a side lot, away from other cars and there were no trees or falling debris. On Sunday evening I enter my car, close the driver's side door and the sun roof explodes.
