My 2011 Nissan Juke has approximately 118,000 miles and I've ran out of gas several times even when it said there was 88 miles left in the tank and the traction control light won't go off it stays on constantly along with the check engine light and tire pressure warning light and its making a squealing noise and its losing power I've only had it a year I know they have been recalled for certain reasons but I'm not sure if this car has been fixed or not I can't afford to get it fixed due to health and medical bills including hospital bills from when my wife passed away I'm finding several issues people have had with the Jukes why isnt Nissan extending the recalls because for people who buy them from private people dont know if the car has been recalled or fixed its very unsafe I've lost power while driving at 45 miles an hour because it ran out of gas even when it displayed 88 miles left my car needs fixed and its expensive I had to replace the ball joint and was told it was going to be almost 700$ or it wouldn't pass inspection this car has turned into a money pit I can't even resell it I need help getting it fixed please.

Timing chain needs replacement however the timing chain was already replaced in 2014 under Nissan recall ntb14-030c campaign p4213. This car has 54,000 miles on it and has been serviced at Nissan dealerships according to the Nissan service schedule. There is no reason for this part to need replacing again after so few miles unless the Nissan part was bad, there is an underlying manufacturing issue with the vehicle or the recall replacement was done incorrectly. Nissan consumer affairs refuses to assist because the car is out of warranty.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Later while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Transmission has a problem with overheating on any trip longer than an hour, leading to the car going into limp mode and being unable to maintain speeds and/or climb any high % grade. This has happened to me multiple times, leading to an immediate loss of power and the need to pull over and park on mountain roads to avoid rolling backwards. This is a known issue on Juke forums, and Nissan themselves have code read countless cars with the cvt transmission being the issue.
I'm the only owner of this vehicle. In Dec 2021 (@ 61000 miles) I had problems with steering my vehicle. I went to break and could not break on the expressway. I was on a 55 miles expressway during rush hour traffic. I came to a stop on the side of the road and when I try to engage the accelerator to get off to the exit the car will not move. It kept stalling and making grounding sounds. The steering wheel was hard to turn as well. Had the Nissan dealership tell me the transmission had to be replaced after 10 days of having my car at the dealership. The transmission was replaced. April 2023 (@ 87000 miles), I am back at the dealership with transmission again. This is the same transmission they put there in Dec 2021. I was going less than 10 mile on a normal roadway. The car will not accelerator or move over 10 mph. It sounded like it I was changing gear in a manual car. The abs light would blink off and on for a split second as the car jerk and trying to accelerate. I have also spend on replacing the suspending and steering, control arms and a whole bunch of other things.

Description: while driving the Nissan Juke the car will suddenly loose power. This appears to happen after having the a/c on for a while and driving speeds exceeding 50mph. At this time once you let go of the gas, begin to break, or just slow down. The car will stall. At this time if you attempt to press on the gas the car will not respond. I will be stall. The problem appears to be reproduceable due to all the complaints that have been listed on forums and on your site.
Driving from vegas to los angeles and 105 plus degree weather car went into limp mode unexpectedly in in 65 mph traffic in the fast lane was almost rear-ended could not accelerate to get off the side of the road for about 5 minutes. Car was jerking and not accelerating pulled over to check out what was wrong smelled burning fluids car would start but would no longer move. About 45 minutes to an hour later after checking all the fluid levels making sure they were at the appropriate level, restarted vehicle attempted to drive home car kept going into limp mode had to keep pulling over. Took the card to dealership because I heard there was some sort of problem with the transmissions and they should have been under warranty when I got there they told me after they try a temporary fix and it would take at least 30 days to get a new transmission (technically not new rebuilt same transmission that is flawed in the first place)for my car even though it was one of the transmissions pertaining to the bulletin issue by the Nissan corp. My car now lacks acceleration is still having difficulty going right into gear and makes an audible (inside the cabin of the vehicle) grating sound whenever I drive it putting back in a rebuilt transmission that is bad because it doesn't have a large enough cooling system for it doesn't make any sense to me. It creates a hazard every time I drive in 100° weather or above I'm going to have to worry about possibly being rear-ended on the freeway because the car goes into the mode with no warning. A few minutes after lymph mode the check engine light will come on but not until after the car hits limp mode.

The car started to lose power while driving with the cruise control engaged, the odometer revved up from 2 rpm to 6 rpm then the speedometer started to descend from 75 mph to 60mph without the cruise control being disengaged. Luckily no drivers were behind me as I started trying to brake and pull over to the side of the road. There wasn't any indication that something was wrong on the dashboard, not one warning light. I proceeded to check the diagnostics with my micro mechanic, which gave me a code that the torque converter was the problem. The dealership ran a diagnostic test and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced.
Cpo Juke with 42k miles on it; transmission failure seemingly out of nowhere. Rpms would indicate acceleration but no additional speed could be gained over 40mph. Car would drive fine for about 15 minutes before the transmission would begin to fail again. Took it to dealership, it was diagnosed with transmission failure and transmission was replaced under warranty. Took 2 weeks for the repair request to be granted; a total of 16 days from initial diagnosis to pickup after repairs.
This has happened several times in the couple months ive owned the car, the scariest incident involving the transmission slipping and the car losing power was after having to stop on the shoulder of i95 highway this was the first time I had even given it more than the reasonable rate of pedel pressure or "gas" and im expecting to get up to speed to merge back into the flow of traffic however right at 45-50mph as im merging into the far right lane of the highway the engine just screams out and rpms max out the car slows rapidly. This is becoming more and more frequent and also theres times we take for granted when we need that engine to work to either get out of an intersesction, merge into traffic, use the cars power as a preventative measure to stay safe in various environments. Driving through baltimore city, a group of young men surrounded my car a week ago and start giving it an entire washing , mind youu im at a red light, but theyve got buckets and soapy rags sudz everywhere and when it turns green the older looking of them screams "50 bucks explicit explicit " " I know you got it" I dont have a dollar on me just my credit cards and also my little neice penelope. I see an opening and floor it but instantly engine winds all the way up , its just ravving out the boy throws a rock cracking my windshield , the crack is aligned with my face so imagine my anxiety levels trying to explain to my sister penelopes mother what had her daughter screaming and crying . So in short the transmission has been a nightmare and I would love to see a recall or some other recourse for me. I am a new owner , I have seen there was a lawsuit awhile back, I took the car to jone Nissan in beliar MD after they sweat talked me into bringing my car right away saying things like man are you lucky, and your still udner warranty , your getting a new transmission compliments of Nissan, just hyping me up to the tone of take a loaner car and we're fix everything free of charge. However within 6.

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shut off as the service engine soon warning light would intermittently appear on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle twice to dealer where she had purchased the vehicle and both times the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. As the failure persisted, the vehicle was taken to Nissan of hendersonville(1340 spartanburg hwy, hendersonville, nc 28792) where they replaced the spark plugs and performed an oil change; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Cvt transmission gets stuck. Happens mostly in traffic. Rpms get stuck at 5000, car does not wanna drive. Engine has to be shut off and then turned back on.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond with the oil level warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to lynchburg Nissan (18588 forest rd, forest, va 2455), and was diagnosed that the engine and transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
When driving for 40 minutes or more, going 60 mph or higher, car will lose speed and eventually stop. No lights will come on and no warning. Gas pedal will hit floor but there will be no acceleration. Seems like turning off the car for 20 minutes or more will reboot it, but only for a short time period. This happens mostly on highways, not on smaller roads as stated previously you must be driving for at least 40 minutes or more going at least 60 mph or higher. Went to dealership and said it was a bad drive shift but unknown reason as to what caused it. Never had problems before this.
I drive a lot. I noticed that when driving on hot days 80+ on long drives 1 hour+ on the interstate, my cars power and rpms basically shut down. This happened multiple times starting around 50k miles. The transmission overheated and put the car into a safety mode. The transmission overheated due to a manufacturing issue. That would be, Nissan failing to proper equip the coolant system on the transmission. This failure in safely manufacturing the transmission to run properly has required on multiple occasions for me to pull over on the interstate, turn my car off, and wait 20 minutes or more for the transmission to cool down. This only happens on long drives on hot days where my personal safety is higher risked.
Tranmission slow to take off safety issue when turning in traffic. Also fails completely quite often.
My wife was driving on a crowded interstate at approximately 70 mph. Vehicle suddenly decelerated to about 40 mph. No power when depressing the accelerator. Pulled over to side of highway. Stopped and restarted. Vehicle accelerated back to 70 mph then again decelerated back to 40 mph. Limped to the next rest area. Vehicle was eventually towed to our local Nissan dealer. Problem was later diagnosed as a failed cvt transmission and the vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive! the transmission was subsequently replaced at a cost of $4825! I had to assume the dealer diagnosed the problem correctly. The vehicle had approximately 124500 miles. Nissan cvt transmissions are notorious for failure with some models powertrain warranty extended up to 120000 miles. Mine was not one of them!.
What has happened is in my letter that was not sent to Nissan yet but every occurrence is listed and filed with Nissan consumer affairs you will see the case numbers. This is also my report to you. If more information is needed I will supply it.
Was driving home and my speedometer began to act weird and raise and lower at a 45 mph speed. Then it made a weird sound. On a take off it takes some time to accelerate or switch gears. There seemed like there was no power which was weird as this car is a turbo. After this happened the service engine soon light came on and the traction icon has come on and off repeatedly. Took my car to a local oreillys and a code came up when they hooked the machine to it. It came up with a p2263 code. They saidit was the tc system-b1 (turbocharger boost system performance) saying that despite the boosting area, the boost does not increase.
Was driving on the highway. Car deaccelerated on its own and would not drive above 60. It was quite a surprise and could have caused an accident. The vehicle was in motion with a truck behind me.
My vehicle had started to struggle with losing speed/power while on the highway approximately one week ago. Began to notice a rattling noise along with oil leaking from my vehicle's engine a few days ago. Took it into the Nissan service department right way. Today I was informed that the timing chain had been stretched and was scraping against my engine, creating a hole and requiring a new engine. If I had been on the highway when my timing chain completely failed I could have been seriously injured or dead. Nissan quotes me at 9000+ dollars to replace my engine. They had a voluntary service campaign back in 2014 for defective timing chains in 2010 - 2013 Nissan Jukes. I bought my Nissan from an authorized dealership in 2014, never received any notice nor did any Nissan service department notify me of the issue when I brought my vehicle in.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Nissan Juke. While driving, the rpms increased; however, the vehicle would not accelerate over 40 mph. The vehicle was taken to Nissan of staten island (1976 hylan blvd, staten island, NY 10306, (718) 447-3800) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified, but was not able to assist. The failure mileage was 10,288.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that there was a strong odor of fuel in the vehicle and all the instrument panel indicators illuminated. The contact mentioned that the smell was interfering with her personal health. The vehicle was taken to gastonia Nissan (2275 e franklin blvd, gastonia, nc 28054, (855) 274-8641) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced and that a failure was not detected within the fuel line. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 107,000.
Issues with timing chain creating loud noise when running.
2016 Nissan Juke sl awd Aug 2017, I traded-in a 2011 Nissan Juke sl for a new 2016 Juke sl 1. Transmission catches: 2016 Juke has a transmission issue which prevents the car from accelerating even when driving on the highway, which results in driver/passengers in car that won't move. You have to come to a complete stop to get the transmission to 'catch'. Nissan was notified four days after the car was purchased. Nissan acknowledged being able to duplicate issue over voicemail but then claimed they couldn't after requesting the car be bought back. 2. Exhaust inside car: exhaust fumes permeate inside the car whenever the ac/heat/defrost are on making it impossible to be in the car without the windows down no matter how hot or cold it is outside. The smell is so overwhelming that is causes nausea, sleepiness and headache. Nissan's response, "you will smell some antifreeze/exhaust when you're in the car". 3. Electrical issue: the navigation/stereo/console randomly shuts off - while driving - which has also caused the volume knob to be inoperable. I emailed andrew tavi, todd woods and mark swenson requesting they intervene to buy the car back, but they have turned the matter back over to Nissan customer care who I reported the issue to last fall (2017); this is the same Nissan customer care who didn't ask to listen to the voicemail from the dealership acknowledging being able to duplicate the issue with the transmission or the multiple video's I made showing the issue with the transmission. If you google, "juke revving no acceleration" you will find multiple posts and videos from people in the us and europe who are having the same issue with their Nissan's and aside from the transmission issue itself the secondary common factor is that they all, like my Juke, report that their car does not 'throw a code". *please* investigate for safety.
Car was traveling 55 mph and lost momentum and wouldn't go past 40 mph. The engine light came on. Turned it off and took it to the dealership where I was told a code for a bad turbo. Replaced it at the dealership and was returned to me. Drove it less than a mile and the same thing happen, so I turned around and returned it to the service department. The service department said they had installed a defected turbo and the were going to put another one in. It's been two weeks and they still can find what's wrong with my car cause it's still throwing the same code after the second turbo installed.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Juke. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning and shut off. The vehicle was able to restart after the engine cooled down. The vehicle was taken to lia Nissan of saratoga (2906 u. S. 9, malta, NY 12020, (518) 633-11330), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. The VIN was unknown.
I brought my 2011 Nissan Juke in for the the recent fuel sensor recall only to find out that my timing chain needs to be replaced as well. It appears that I have been driving my car for the last few years with a bad timing chain. My timing chain issue was apparently not part of the 2011-2013 nissian Juke service campaign despite this being a 2011 Nissan Juke.
The cars wheels will begin to skid, and when I'm driving at a long distance the car will slow down and then turn off.
The timing belt along with other associated cranks and pulleys, are damaged. The car has been kept current with all maintenance and out of the blue the timing chain mechanism begins to fail. This is extremely dangerous to drive with engine failure looming around every corner, and the repair costs on something that should last is sky high. When this happened the first time, the car was stationary and I noticed the sound upon start up of the vehicle.
I have had my rotors replaced twice within 8-12 months of putting new brake pads on. The rotors are again in bad shape 6 months after putting ceramic brakes on 7 months ago. My rear exhaust disintegrated and when I took it in to Nissan for a quote they informed me my catalytic converter had a 50/50 chance of going. My mechanic replaced the exhaust system for substantially less and showed me the corroded flange to the catalytic converter and also said it was bad. There is now a whistling noise coming from the front of the inside of the car by the windshield. I took the vehicle back in to Nissan to identify that issue and replace the catalytic converter. They couldn't "recreate" the whistling noise which I've captured on my cell phone. And they refused to replace my catalytic converter under warranty because my check engine light is not on and their computer did not flag a problem with the catalytic converter. I have put over $6,000 in repairs above normal wear and tear. I have no confidence it will even make it to 100,000 miles. A 2012 vehicle with 58,000 miles is a step up from a new vehicle. I am not willing to keep making repairs on a vehicle that is falling apart prematurely. I asked Nissan for compensation towards another vehicle (used is fine) with little to no out of pocket expense. They only consider a buy back of a defective vehicle and that investigation only considers repairs done at Nissan service centers. They would not accept documentation from other repair shops. I have already put in two complaints with Nissan and they offer no solutions. This is an inordinate amount of repairs for a 2012 Nissan Juke I bought new with only 58000 miles on it. And its unacceptable.
It stalls out if 80 mph is reached and will not accelerate again unless the motor is turned off and back on. Now it is more frequent and at any speed. Plus the gas consumption is half what it usually would be.
Driving on highway averaging 80 mph. I was not using cruise control. After 30 minutes of driving the vehicle begins to decelerate. I pressed the gas pedal further to accelerate, yet it had no effect. The vehicle speed dropped to 60 mph. I put on hazards. The vehicle continued to decelerate to 50 mph. This happened within a matter of seconds. I immediately made my way to the shoulder of the highway. During this time, the check engine light never flashed, nor did any other indicator light come on. The temperature gauge was well below the halfway point. I parked, and raised the hood to examine the vehicle. The fluids were all at recommended levels. After 5 minutes, I began to drive again. The vehicle slowly accelerated and would not go over 50 mph. I pulled off to the next exit and drove to a gas station. I double checked the fluids and used the owners manual to help identify any dashboard indicator lights that may signify that something is malfunctioning. Nothing showed. I kept the car off for over 20 minutes. I started the car back up and it ran normally without problems. There has been 10 or more other times I can recall where this has happened. This is crap and makes me wish I never got this Juke. I have been to the Nissan dealers all around me and no one can explain this problem to me. There needs to be some sort of recall to fix this dangerous problem. I do not need cars almost rear ending me and drivers pissed off at me because my car wont go. And who has time to wait 20 to 40 minutes to wait for whatever the issue is to correct itself!.
On 10/01/2015 my 2015 Nissan Juke was at Nissan of fife washington with 50 miles on it and it need a battery and also a recirculation vavle to be replaced the car would never be the same again problem after problem the turbo went out and they told me it was because I neglected the vehicle . They replaced the turbo and it went out again within 200 miles they told me it had sludge in the engine well this sludge that they are refeering to is actually the oil and coolant mixing now they want to void my warranty with only 27,301 miles on it 2 years later I need some help getting them to pay for this lemon.
