37 Power Train problem of the 2013 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 07/14/2017

I am a frustrated owner of a 2013 Nissan Juke sl. I am the first and only owner. At about 20k miles, I took the car in for its regularly scheduled maintenance and complained that the vehicle was noises while driving on the highway. I was given, what I know now to be the textbook response, I'm sorry we drove the car and could not duplicate the issue you're complaining about. 30k miles, I took the car in for its regularly maintenance with the following complaint: the car is extremely noises on the highway that I can barely hear my music, thus I have to appear obnoxious to surrounding drivers because my music is louder than theirs, so that I can hear it over the noise coming from under my hood which sounds like an airplane. Furthermore, when I step on the gas pedal to increase speed, the car is slow to respond. Once again, Nissan claims they are not able to pinpoint the issue. 45k miles, the car goes in for its regularly maintenance with the following complaint: while driving on the highway for 3 hours, the car will loose powerit is still noises as all hell, but the car will slow down without warning. I have been high beamed and honked at. This is dangerous to me, my passengers and other drivers on the road. The car doesn't overheat and all fluid levels are fine. Once again, Nissan claims they are not able to pinpoint the issue. This past weekend, I am doing my 4. 5 hour road trip again in Nissan's deathtrap they have fondly nicknamed Juke. Like clock work, after 3 hours on the highway, the car starts to slowdown, I called Nissan while it was happening, but he can barely hear me over the loud noise (jet engine sound emitting from under my hood). I took the car into Nissan who could not do anything because they don't look into problems like this on the weekend.

38 Power Train problem of the 2014 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 06/13/2017

Nissan Juke owners are reporting over the internet that the car suffers from a defective alternator or battery that causes the car to lose power during normal driving in hot weather. Temps are in the 100s in CA right now 06/20/17. I purchased my Juke a weeks ago. It drove fine when I did the initial 3 test drives before buying it. It was not until I actually drove the car some respectable miles that I noticed that this car has a safety issue that is triggered when any of the following conditions are met: #1. Driving in hot temps on the fwy in stop and go traffic if the operator rolls the window down while driving the car will react by shuttering when the windows are rolled down or if you hold down the button. Once this is triggered the car moves at a snails pace for the rest of the time. #2 if you turn your ac on in auto mode in hot weather ~100 c or more for longer than an hour while driving in hot weather and stop and go traffic the car will suddenly lose power in an un-safe manner that could cause a traffic accident. It is not until you turn off the ac that the car will slowly start to gain power pack after the issue is triggered. Both of these issues are common amongst Juke owners. I have experienced both on more than one occasion and to be honest Nissan should have done their due diligence by recalling the Nissan Juke. It appears from what I have read and to the people from Nissan that I spoke with the Juke was specced with the weak battery and weak alternator that are both affected by heat soak which triggers the car to go into safe mode to protect the engine from damage.

39 Power Train problem of the 2014 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 04/22/2017

While driving my 2014 Nissan Juke it went from 70 to 20 on the interstate and I was almost ran over by large trucks that were unable to stop. This has happened multiple times. While driving to work this time, it dropped in speed again and the rpms went over 6 but the car would not move. I push the gas to the floor and nothing happens. I am afraid to drive my car home from work due to impending death concerns.

43 Power Train problem of the 2011 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 07/23/2016

Experienced sudden loss of propulsion and control of acceleration while traveling on 70 mph on freeway. Diagnostic suggestion is an issue identical to the recall affecting Nissan Jukes of this year in recall campaign #11v583000, in which a faulty valve casing weld breaks loose inside of the engine. However my vehicle was not manufactured in the time period specified in that recall, as it was manufactured 8 weeks after the final recall window date of 5/12/11. Car makes intermittent popping noise when driving, experiences high rpm without acceleration. Current mileage on vehicle - 61,255 miles.

44 Power Train problem of the 2012 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

I had my Nissan Juke at the dealer at 80,000 miles telling them that the rpm's were going up to about 5000 before the car could shift from 1st to 2nd and the car would randomly bog and hesitate. Did this weather going up hill or flat driving after the car had been driving for about 4 hrs. I drive for a living and drive about 5 hrs a day. The dealer took it in and had it over 3 wks after determinig that is was a transmission defect. They ordered one and the one that came in after being installed wouldn't allow the car to go over 40mph. Again defective transmission #2 and it hasn't left dealer. Finally get another a month and a half after bring it in and tell me that only warrentee left would be the remainder of my 100,000. (which gave me about 20,000 miles to hope didn't happen again) and at 97,000 just 17,000 miles on the 3rd transmission installed is it happening again. My local Nissan dealership has had it this time for a month already finally determining it's defect in transmission yet again so now we wait for the ok from Nissan to replace it, which I was told they were giving them a hard time because it was technically the 4th cvt automatic transmission installed on my Juke in less then a year. This is crazy thank goodness my local Nissan dealer is nice and I get a rental but still making payments yet again on a vehicle I don't have due to manufacture defect. I own 7 Nissan's and this is the last one that I will own with the cvt transmission. I have no other problems with any of my other Nissan's.

45 Power Train problem of the 2013 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 09/14/2015

When driving my Nissan Juke the speed started to decrease. As I pressed on the gas pedal, it would not go any faster. I even pressed the gas pedal all the way to the floor and it still would not increase in speed. From 70 mph it decreases to between 40 and 50 mph on the interstate. This is extremely dangerous. I could have gotten hit and road rage is quite real. It took at least, and I mean at the least, 30 minutes to where it would increase in speed. I thought it was going to stop on the middle of the interstate. Very scary and very real. My Juke was also making a buzzing/hissing noise under the hood. Especially when pressing the gas pedal.

48 Power Train problem of the 2012 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 02/25/2015

My 2012 Nissan Juke all began on Wednesday February 25, 2015 when I was beginning my morning. I went out to start my car, the same way I always do before I leave for work in the mornings. Ten minutes later when I walked outside my car was not running. I called a local mechanic who does house calls and asked if he could come over. He knew almost immediately that the timing chain had broken. He continued to run some tests and diagnostics and stated that there was no compression in the valves. I jumped right online only to find out to my horror that Nissan had issued a service campaign 6+ months earlier and I was never notified. I still was not concerned. I called the Nissan 800 number right away and the lady that worked with me was extremely helpful. She then put me in contact with kocourek Nissan. When I was connected, I explained what was going to the service center. The first thing perry informed me of was that if there was sludge in my oil, it would void my warranty. This made me extremely nervous. Once my vehicle was towed to kocourek Nissan, he called me again stating that he had not even had a chance to look at it yet, but needed to charge me $200. 00 to get it on the path to diagnostics. Again perry was insistent on letting me know if there was sludge in the oil/oil pan it would most likely void my warranty. Again, a feeling of panic hits as I can already see where this going. When perry calls me back that evening he states that surprise, there is sludge in the oil/oil pan. But he was going to get everything over to Nissan and “fight for me”. On Thursday February 26, 2015 perry calls me again and states that there is too much sludge, your warranty is void, and a new engine is about $5000. 00. There is a timing chain that broke while engine was running. That would have junked that engine. I have the oil changed regularly.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

50 Power Train problem of the 2013 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 01/06/2015

I have a Nissan Juke 2013 sv awd. Since I bought it, I have cvt problems. When I drive long distance and the weather is over 75 f or I drive on mountainous roads, my car stop accelerating. Sometimes I can't go faster than 60 miles/h, but most of the time it's max 40 or even 20 miles/hour. I also have a check engine icon in my dash when it happen sometimes. I got my car checked by my mechanic several times and he ran the electronic test on my Nissan. He told me that this test show a transmission problem.

51 Power Train problem of the 2012 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 08/29/2014

Purchased the 2012 Nissan Juke new. At 80,000+/- while driving the car suddenly started loosing power. The rpm gauge was sending the rpm's over 8 each time the accelerator was pressed. Check engine light came on. Car was taken to closest mechanic due to the issue when plugged into the machine to detect the issue it read a code indicating it was a sensor in the transmission. Took auto to Nissan dealer next day (over 50 miles from house) for service with the issue. Dealer indicated that they could not obtain that code and the transmission fluid was over filled. Car continues to do this on a weekly sometimes daily basis of loosing power and when accelerating not allowing the car to go faster and causing the rpm's go up an past 8. Several visits to the dealership all the while the dealership was indicating the transmission fluid was too full or too low and not the sensor in the transmission. In 2014 vehicle was back and dealership for same issue and was told to find what was wrong since I had been given only answers of low or high transmission fluid. Dealership called and indicated that I needed a new transmission at now 128,000 +/- miles (all highway due to distance to work). I had stated that I brought it in while the drive train was still covered and now that I am past those miles I need a transmission. Dealer stated for me to drive the car it was not dangerous and to come in when it was doing it so they could pull a live code and then send the transmission back to the manufacturer for them to replace that is was a manufacturer defect. Car continues to loose power (when going up hill or driving against a 10 mile an hour wind) placing any passengers in danger since this will occur driving 70 miles an hour or slower at any time. Nissan is aware of the cvt issue and need to repair the issue for safety and not repairing at 80,000 miles.

55 Power Train problem of the 2011 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 02/27/2014

My Juke caught on fire this morning! it only has 32,400 miles on it and I am left with no car and little interest from Nissan. I did smell gas but did not think much of it. My son is on dialysis 3 days a week and at first the corporation told me I would be reimbursed for a rental car for three days but before the call concluded they changed their mind telling me it was pending decision. There is a recall on the 2011-2012 Juke fuel injected engine due to fuel may leak from the pressure sensor, increasing the risk of a fire, that I was not notified of. Nissan is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Juke, Infiniti qx and Infiniti m vehicles. The fuel pressure sensors may not have been tightened to the correct specification. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen due to heat and vibration causing fuel to leak. They tried to tell me that my car was one that had already been fixed. . . . So, then why am I left walking in the subzero temperatures?.

56 Power Train problem of the 2012 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 02/18/2014

The timing chain has gone bad and I have noticed the same problem with other Jukes. I would like to know if there has been a recall yet?.

57 Power Train problem of the 2011 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 01/13/2014

I took my car in to a local Nissan dealership for a recall on a fuel sensor and gasket(s) and I had a rattling noise I asked them to look into while they had the car. They informed me that the timing chain was loose and needed to be replaced at $2100. The car has lost half of its value in less then 2 years of owning it and I didn't even buy it brand new (had less the 7,000 miles on it). I have gone back and forth with a manager at Nissanusa who is offering to help out with paying $400 of the bill. I have seen where this is a common problem with the 2011 Juke and really needs to be a recall. Nissan has paid for new engines when the chain broke, leaving people stranded. They pay for a new engine (not the labor) with a 1 year /12,000 mile warranty, but will not put out a recall on the timing chain! I called and got an estimate for the repair from a different Nissan dealership who quoted me quite a bit less then the $2100 and I asked if Nissan was willing to give the $400 towards the repair at that location and they refused. I now have oil spewing all over from a cracked timing chain cover. The car is not drivable and I do not have $2100 plus the cost of a new cover now, especially when I'm upside down by $5,000. This truly is the worst car ever.

58 Power Train problem of the 2012 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Juke. While driving at 70 mph and attempting to depress the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate as the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was taken to a dealer multiple times. The technician was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who diagnosed that the continuously variable transmission (cvt) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000. The VIN was unavailable.

59 Power Train problem of the 2011 Nissan Juke

Failure Date: 01/20/2013

On January 18th, dealer completed recall notice repair of fuel pressure sensor. When vehicle was picked up from dealer that weekend, only went 2 1/2 miles and vehicle experienced electrical failures. Engine getting fuel, however no power to transmission, steering, brakes. Dealer states its the battery and replaced battery. Approximately 25 miles later we have experienced the same electrical failures. Starting with power, then radio, lights, fans and shifting, and eventually total engine failure. Vehicle has now been towed to dealer again.
