The automatic emergency braking (aeb) and radar system is faulty which makes the vehicle suddenly brakes on it's own. My daughter reported that the alert light began coming on about a week ago. Then the yesterday (9/26/2021) the vehicle suddenly braked on its own while she was driving. She added that there was no vehicle or object in front of the vehicle at the time of the self-braking. This is a serious safety concern. After research into this matter, I have learned that both Nissan and the national highway traffic safety administration are aware of the situation but have yet to issue a recall for the faulty aeb in a number of their models. On March 14, 2022, my daughter was stationary at a stop light (warner & jewel street). Once the light turned green, she released the brakes and started to accelerate. However, the warning lights came on and the vehicle immediately braked on it's own. The vehicle behind her (Jeep wangler) did not stop in time and struck her Nissan Kicks causing heavy damage to the rear. Like the other incidents, there were no vehicle or obstacles in front of her to warrant the vehicle to immediately brake. The issue is a serious problem. We have read other reviews with other people having this problem with their Nissan vehicles. I have absolutely no faith in this vehicle and will no longer allow my daughter to operate it. My hope is that Nissan will be forced to research and address the issue. As consumers we deserve safety and to be compensated for this incident.
I took my car in for service again for the 9th or more time due to the sonar alerts activating without reason. The aeb would alert and chime for no reason as well as the forward collision warning for no reason. The car also chimed consistently when backing up and stalled when nothing was behind me or in the vicinity for this alert to go on. This has been a constant issue with this car. I purchased it brand new on Feb 29, 2020 and I believe they sold me a lemon. I took my car to vacaville Nissan on Feb 3rd, 2022 to service advisor [xxx] who has been the advisor throughout. [xxx] notified me Feb 3rd, 2022 that unfortunately when they ran diagnostic, their are issues with the car and he said there are over 12k red Nissan Kicks with the same issue. [xxx] told me, it is under engineering review as their is nothing available yet to fix it. [xxx] said, they have done all they could and he would contact me in a month when something will hopefully be available. This is unfair, I am driving a vehicle that is unsafe and unpredictable. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I bought my new 2020 in February and I have already had to have it serviced 7 or more times, due to electrical issues. The automatic electrical braking system comes on, even though nothing is in front of me when I am driving, also, the collision alert comes on as well during the same time, even though no cars are in front me to warrant a possible collision. I am very nervous driving my car. I dont know what else to do. Nissan has ran diagnostics and found the issues with sonar and other possibilities, they replaced the system and while it ran ok for a while, it is currently experiencing the same electrical issues. I have not been able to take it in again because I have a bad knee. I need help, I truly believe I was sold a lemon!.
While traveling on a hwy with my 2021 Nissan Kicks, me and my wife were sandwiched. A black SUV suddenly stopped in front of us causing us to rear end them going approximately 50-60 mph then we were rear ended. No air bag deployed and the passenger seat appears to have come off of its tracks. Nissan has been notified of this and should conduct an investigation. Not sure if the automatic emergency braking failed or if the car just did not have time to react.

I am the owner of the vehicle but my daughter was the driver and I am making the complaint on her behalf but she can provide additional details. The vehicle began making a grinding sound at times that sounds similar to the anti-lock braking. Then on oct 29 the vehicle locked down the brakes as she was pulling into the parking lot at work when there was not a collision imminent. She skidded into the curb damaging her front driver side wheel. We took the vehicle to the dick smith Nissan dealer in lexington SC but they told us they couldn't reproduce the failure and recommended we bring it back if it happened again. We went to pick up the vehicle but before leaving with the car I drove the car around the parking lot and the forward collision light came on in under a minute. They immediately took the car back to service to read the code and asked if we could leave the vehicle with them. They called back after a day or two and said they have no repair and recommended we contact Nissan consumer affairs and start a case. We started a case on 11/5/2021 and the case number is 45086982.
Malfunction to the automatic emergency brake, yes available for inspection. Have had that sensor replaced twice and on the the last time was never called to see if the part came in so I'm still have the malfunction. The car brakes without warning, may cause an accident while on the interstate. The sensor has been vhanged multiple times. Been inspected by Nissan dealers. First appeared October of 2021 and has not stopped since.

Vehicle randomly brakes and shuts down. Had sensor replaced yet problem resurfaced yesterday.
The automatic emergency braking (aeb) and radar system is faulty which makes the vehicle suddenly brakes on it's own. My daughter reported that the alert light began coming on about a week ago. Sensor that states there has been a malfunction in the front braking system comes on randomly. The aeb system also stops the car at random times when nothing is in the road, good weather, sometimes going 75mph on the highway. Same thing has also happened driving in a parking garage or down a main road. I have also been in cruise control on the highway and this braking system comes on. I thought it was an isolated incident but it has happened at least 6 times. The date below only reflects the most recent incident.
Car has an issue where the automatic emergency braking system (aeb) and the vehicle dynamic control off(vdc) lights simultaneously go on the dashboard. Shortly after the car will stall while idle at red lights. Car will also have trouble going above 2500 rpm when this happens. Causing the car to drive very slow in traffic. Becomes very hard to get to a safe place to park putting myself and passengers in danger. The check engine light for mass airflow sensor will also go off. When replaced it doesn't fix issue. The check engine light will go off again for (mas) or intake air temp sensor. Neither can be fixed by replacing these parts. Reading forums many people are having this exact issue with the 2019 Nissan Kicks s. Brought my car to Nissan for issue. They could not figure out the problem in order to fix it. This has been a recurring issue since 2021 with no intention by Nissan to fix it.
Front obstruction/radar malfunction warning light comes on while driving for no apparent reason.
Front impact warning light comes on and affects the cruise control and tries to stop without anything in front of car. This car only has 4200 miles and has been in shop 5 fives for the same thing and all Nissan dealership does is clear code, adjust sensors and/or calibrate sensors but never changes out sensors. There is already several class action lawsuits with Nissan on front sensor and this malfunction. This is clearly a hazard driving the car and is a safety issue to drive since this car can try to stop when nothing is in front of car.
Automatic emergency braking (aeb) system warning light (if so equipped) I purchased my 2018 Nissan Kicks in Feb of 2019, and have been experiencing issues with the warning light that looks like two cars colliding randomly appearing along with a message "unavailable front radar obstruction. " these warning lights can come on at any given time during the time in which the vehicle is driven, and began shortly after purchase of the vehicle. Weather conditions, etc have no effect on this issue. The warning light/message has come on when it's sunny. It can come on when changing lanes, and not even having a vehicle directly in front of you. I monitored the behavior for quite awhile in order to confirm this was an actual defect. My vehicle is garaged most of the time, and there has been no damage to it whatsoever. After further research, I checked the owners manual then realized the warning light that I have been seeing is actually the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system warning light. The message that appears on the dash indicates a front radar obstruction, or impact near the front of the car as well. These may be two separate issues, but they occur at the same time everytime. I always see the aeb light, and the front radar obstruction warning simultaneously. I have also had problems with the blind spot warning lights randomly appearing, and my back up cam glitching out/freezing in the process of backing up.
