Frequently and randomly I get errors on my dash for the front collision sensor and slippery roads warning. This seems to occur for no reason as all while I am driving. When this happens my rpm's drop and my car will stall at red lights or stop signs. In a few instances, my car has refused to accelerate because it believes the car is obstructed. This has put me at risk of getting rear ended on numerous occasions. I need to turn my car off and on multiple times in order to get to my destination. Once the car is left alone for awhile, the issues completely goes away and the car drives like normal until it inevitably randomly occurs again. This appears to be an issue with the Kicks model across the board, as loads of other people online have had the same issue and tried multiple things to fix it to no avail. Mechanics have no idea what is causing it or how to fix it. It is also impossible to replicate the issues since it happens for seemingly no reason and then goes away for no reason. 3 images are attached to show proof at different miles (however this has occurred more times than I can count). Dates can be seen in the metadata. This is incredibly unsafe and needs to be recalled.

The car acceleration issues, taking a long time to go from 0-50 with the tachometer going up to 5 to do so. My mpg has gone from 33 to 28 mpg. There are times when I press on the gas but my car doesn’t move. It also makes loud “rumbling” or “whining” sounds at times.

For months the front/rear collision sensors warning lights are on. The abs and traction control warning lights are also on. The check engine light will come on for weeks at a time then go away.

Vehicle dies during operation becase of mas airflow sensor. Replaced sensor now it needs nossan diagnostic tool to relearn and I'm being required to pay a minimum of 300 for this service on top of the 250 I paid for the part. This car is shutting off in the middle of intersections.

I took my 2024 Nissan Kicks sv to the dealership with approximately 2000 miles on it. The vehicle as an increased concerning issue where, while idling in park with no one in the vehicle, the engine will have a continuous revving then loud click/clunk noise, return to normal, then start again. It’s been getting progressively louder. Dealership stated they were unable to replicate the issue and there were no codes/issues showing on the computer. It started happening around 1500 miles occasionally and quieter, but now at nearly 2500 miles it’s increasing in frequency and noise level. I’ve noticed it happens multiple times a week if not every time I drive the vehicle. This is very concerning for a new vehicle.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the headlights became extremely dim before the failure was self-corrected. The failure was intermittent. Occasionally, the contact had to restart the vehicle for the headlights to illuminate properly. The contact stated that after the initial start-up, the vehicle hesitated, and there was an extensive amount of time before the transmission shifted into 2nd gear. There was also an extended amount of time before the vehicle shifted into 1st gear while the vehicle was idling. While driving uphill and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle decelerated and lost motive power. The failure became a persistent failure. The contact stated that on one occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, while the transmission was shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, a loud boom came from the vehicle, and the vehicle lost power. The contact was able to push the vehicle, with assistance, to a nearby parking lot. There was a mechanic shop nearby, and a certified mechanic inspected the vehicle. The mechanic determined that the transmission fluid was leaking from the driver's side cv axle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was made aware that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v437000 (engine and engine cooling) and 25v508000 (exterior lighting, engine and engine cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The VIN was not available.

My 2018 Nissan Kicks stalled several times, twice while at a stop light and once while driving. There was no warning or any indicators letting me know that the vehicle stalled. The two times at the light I was only able to notice because I couldn’t get the car to go while pressing the gas. The time I was driving the car suddenly stalled and slowed down and the steering wheel became stiff. I had to place it in neutral and pull over. I took my car to the manufacturer where I bought the car and explained it to them. It stalled in them as well but they couldn’t find a reason for it and told me that it could be my key fob cover and the battery. We changed the battery on 08/07/24 and it just stalled again today at a stop light on 08/08/24. This rules out the key and fob and cover so it must be the something with the transmission or engine. Either way, it becomes unsafe especially while it stalls while driving.

Limp mode defect occured while on highway in the middle of the country of USA.

At 54,000 miles on my car my car was shaking and not wanting to go past 20miles an hour. My check engine light came on. Safety was at risk, there was no warning that my car was having trouble. It was driving fine one minute and ttem all of a sudden check engine light came on. Feel that the cvt engines in Nissan are not safe.

It originally started about two years ago when the check engine light came on (along with others) that point to a code with the mass air flow sensor. It would stall at low rpms at traffic lights, and was extremely worrying during normal driving. We got it replaced and so far okay, but recently the abs and traction control lights come on and stay on. Another issue that many many Nissan owners experience. Some people thinks it’s a dirty throttle body, dirty front collision sensor, dirfty maf. The problem is that when any of these issues are fixed, it comes back. We don’t know why the abs and traction control (plus front collision by the way) lights come on. We took it to a mechanic, it was off for two whole days. Now it’s back on. Can’t wait to have it stall on us in the mean time.

Hello, I noticed my battery light came Friday, April 5th, but the indicator light went off after about 45 seconds. Saturday, April 6th, I was driving and the battery light came on again, after 5 minutes the acceleration stopped working as I turned into the subdivision. The vehicle was going 5mph, I was able to make to a relatives house. Once I pull in the driveway, all of the indicator lights came on and a warning message appeared, malfunction see owners manual. My cousin tried jumping the battery, but it still wouldn't start, so he tried again. I was finally able to start the vehicle, but I was only able to move it from the driveway to the street before the power steering went out and the vehicle shut off. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership Monday, April, 8th, they did a diagnostic Tuesday, April 9th. I was told the battery lost 3 cells, so they replaced it and told me I can take it home. After I finished my night workout, I'm driving home, it's now around 12 am Wednesday, April 10th (today) and the same thing happens. Battery light comes on, no acceleration, power steering goes out, all of the indicator lights are on with the malfunction warning, and finally the vehicle cuts off. I left it parked in a random neighborhood, and I'm having it towed again this evening after work. I have pictures and video evidence. This vehicle is not safe to drive. Thank you.

Xtronic cvt transmission--available for inspection the car stalled out on a busy interstate exit. The dealership has inspected it and said that they can't pull any codes off of it and looks mechanically sound.

Driving down the highway when the car shut down in the middle of the freeway. I was able to get to the shoulder before the vehicle completely shut down and would not restart. I had it towed to a shop and upon further investigation the motor had blown up. One of the pistons only had 20% pressure. The car doesn't even have 70k miles on it and the motor is completely gone in it.

I was sitting at a light during rush hour with my kids. The light turned green, but nothing happened when I pushed the car accelerator. I put my flashers on and tried not to panic. I put the car in park, turned it off, then turned it back on. The car worked properly and I was able to be move out of the intersection to the side of the road. Oil and engine appeared normal and there were no noises signaling an issue. I called Nissan and drove it to the dealership to submit it for repairs. The dealership reviewed it and tested it for two days only to tell me their computer couldn’t detect a problem. They also told me that the issue was under engineer review, and did not have any fixes currently. They told me they couldn’t do anything, and I could come get my car. This was my family car and I do not feel safe driving it anymore. My car is less than six months old and had less than ten thousand miles on it. It shouldn’t be stalling and leaving my kids and I stopped in the middle of the road.

February 2024: the vehicle was in drive and was stopped at a red light. When the traffic light changed the driver pressed the accelerator. The engine/powertrain did not respond, and the vehicle did not move. The driver turned the car off, then back on. The driver was able to drive the vehicle to a safe location and inspected operator level systems. No problems could be found. Benton Nissan in birmingham, al evaluated the vehicle and could not find a malfunction record or reproduce the malfunction. Nissan USA was notified and stated the issue was a known problem in engineering review at the time. We stopped receiving any response from their representative in March 2024.

I purchased the vehicle in April of 2023. It has just over 2000 miles on it. I don't drive it very much. Starting in January of 2024, I’ve been having intermittent issues with my fairly new Nissan Kicks vehicle, as follows: •engine stalling at stop •forward emergency brake (Feb) sensor activates when no obstruction present – and while driving full speed on road I have taken the vehicle to the dealership service center for evaluation several times. As of today (2/13/2024) they have had it for a week. While I have been told there is a software update to fix the engine stalling issue (no time frame for release of the software upgrade), they are unable to reproduce the Feb sensor issue and have recommended that I continue to drive the vehicle with this problem. Diving the vehicle with an intermittent Feb sensor issue is unsafe and is placing me and others on the road at risk for accident, injury, and potentially death. I did not sign up to be a crash test dummy/guinea pig in order to help Nissan troubleshoot dangerous sensor issues.

I was driving in traffic in a 30mph zone and my car turned off, and I was unable to push down on the brakes. I had to use my emergency brake a could hardly turn my wheel and stop in the center divider of the road. I turned on my hazards and waited 15 minutes and was able to restart the car a drive home. This was very dangerous and could have caused an accident.

While driving at about 25mph, the engine suddenly shut off without any warning. After the engine shut off the collision warning, battery and oil light indicators came on. The car remained in drive and started to roll backwards. When pressing the engine start button, nothing happened. After a few minutes the car was able to be restarted.

My car shut off while I was driving it with no warning and almost caused an accident. I have already had spark plugs and battery replaced as well as routine maintenance and it has shut off on me 3 times already.

Symptoms: *automatic emergency braking (3 occasions) *slip indicator (3 occasions) *check engine -code p0101 (been on 4 weeks so far) road condition: sunny days aeb and slip indicator lights randomly came on 3 different times. On the 3rd time, check engine light came on together and it's been on ever since. Aeb and slip lights go away after the car is turned off. Having aeb and slip lights on makes the car drive like it is on the lower gear and the engine shut off at every red light. I started noticing the smell of excess gasoline fume especially when the car is moving but not accelerating, meaning that when my foot is off the gas pedal. Because p0101 indicates maf sensor malfunction, I replaced with a hitachi-made maf sensor. For some strange reason, the car lost battery power so I ended up replacing battery at the same time. Unfortunately, the check engine light is still on.

The cvt transmission in my Kicks slips every time I try to accelerate. It will also stall out from time to time, lose power and die. I've had this happen on an interstate before, almost causing a serious wreck. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they keep telling me that there is nothing wrong with it mechanically that they can see.

Car started/idled rough but stopped after acceleration. Mile into drive, yellow ck engine light flashing. Drove home and took it to auto store for free diagnostic. Misfire cylinder 1. Took to nussan dealer where purchased (certified used) to have them check it out. Light is now off, but code is stored. They moved plugs around and sent ne on my way to see if it happened again. Later that day, same thing only worse abd ck engine solid. Had it towed back. Told it was wiring harness. 6000 repair( Nissan covering some). Big expense for a car with only 51,000 miles, and not covered by warrenty.

October 2019, I purchased a 2019 Nissan Kicks and had no issues until last December. Took the car to the dealership because it would start jerking randomly when trying to accelerate. I’ve taken my car to the dealership for this issue 6 times and each time I’m told something different. I’ve had my transmission replaced twice within 7 months, new throttle body, mass air flow sensor and my ecm replaced and the jerking is still there but has never triggered the check engine light.

The motor/engine consumes excess oil creating a burnt smell and a lot of whitesmoke coming out of the muffler. The vehicle is stalling constantly and won’t accelerate properly while driving. Creating an unsafe environment for me and those driving near me. I have repair and install new piece but non of them would fix the problem. I took it to the dealer and they didn’t find the problem. I have heard of a lot of people having the same issue with this model of vehicle.

I purchased a Nissan Kicks 2020 7 weeks ago. Yesterday while at a stop light, the engine shut off and then the battery and oil light popped on. This was extremely dangerous as I was on a busy highway and had to panic on what to do. I ended up having to put it in park and cut it back on. After researching this online, I have found other people are having the exact same issue. I checked for a recall and see none! how has there not been a recall? I had my three children in the car with me (one being a newborn) and was scared to death!.

Abs, ccs cruise control, air pressure monitor, laser/radar, intelligence key, radar stain, center sonar, radar circuit unit,airbag lights poa90 recall engine control module, transmission, collison lights, pre-existing damages, it has defects it started intermittent stalling at 66,541 miles upon buying it at 59,290 miles. All the dashboard lights on. It's a hazards it's to risky it won't start sometimes it leaves us on the side of the road. Sometimes we have to tow it. 4.

The components that failed in multiple instances include the engine shutting off in traffic at a stop light, the failure to accelerate as if the engine is stuck, and the forward collision warning indicator repeatedly coming on while driving with no one is front of me. An accident almost occurred while sitting at the traffic light when the car shut off and while trying to get on the highway and being unable to pick up speed puts our safety at risk. Additionally, the potential for an accident to occur while driving if the engine shuts off or forward collision sensor triggers the automatic emergency braking system. The problems have been reported to the service center and the vehicle is scheduled for inspection and a diagnostic 02/20/23. There were no warning signs in the engine failure incident at the traffic light. The forward collision warning light comes on sporadically. The engine acceleration issue happens at unknown times while pulling off from lights to getting on the interstate ramps.

Since I got the Kicks in may of this year 2022 I have had multiple incidents where the lights for the sensors come on out of nowhere and it shows 3 messages for . Sensor malfunction. They popped on again a few days ago and now the check engine light is on and the code it's showing is main air flow sensor failure. That sensor from what I have been told should last a long time. I have had it 7 months and it's only 2 years old. I change the air filter every oil change and with the sensor failed it won't drive proper causing a safety hazard for me and my children.

Was driving on the interstate when all of the sudden any time I would hit the accelerator it would start to brake. I went from going 60 to 45 and realized I had to pull over and was able luckily to get to a median to call aaa. Once I got to the median my battery and oil change light appeared and ac stopped working. I attempted to turn my car off and it would just automatically restart. I did that three times and on the third time the lights turned off and ac was back blowing cold but still couldn’t move my vehicle. Aaa then towed it to their facility and said it was transmission issues and he had never seen something like it before since no sensors were notified to the issue. It’s now being towed from the aaa center and is being taken to the dealership closest for repairs. I’m still waiting to hear back from maus Nissan about my car and where to go from here. It’s very troubling to be traveling at such a fast speed to nothing at all and luckily I was able to pull over to safety.

Motor issues constant ticking noise the motor is making looks like Nissan is not wanting to cover powertrain warranty looks like upper part of motor has issues and could stop working at anytime especially on a busy highway.

Here I am for a 3rd time reporting an issue with this car. After work I went to get in my car. I could not turn it on, I was not able to push the brake and a lot of lights came on. I decided it needed jumped so I got jumped. The next day I remote start the car and see it did not turn on. So I went out to start it and it once again didnt start. I jumped it again. I then decided it needed a new battery as it was the original to the car. I went to batteries plus and the guy was not even sure how I managed to jump it as it was completely drained. He mentioned something about the alternator. The one I just had replaced a year ago for my car stopping on me at speeds of 50+. He recommended me not to drive it and get it towed to a dealership. He tested my alternator and said it is not testing where is should. I had a tow truck driver follow me to south colorado springs Nissan. I took it in they said the battery test (brand new battery that was only hours old) and my alternator both failed testing. They then let me car sit over the weekend and of course its acting normal now. Clearly something is triggering the alternator to fail quickly as I had just got this one replaced a year ago. That needs to be looked into more. They didn't find anything and sent me on my way. The photos attached are from the 2 years worth of problems I have had.
