I was driving in traffic in a 30mph zone and my car turned off, and I was unable to push down on the brakes. I had to use my emergency brake a could hardly turn my wheel and stop in the center divider of the road. I turned on my hazards and waited 15 minutes and was able to restart the car a drive home. This was very dangerous and could have caused an accident.

While driving at about 25mph, the engine suddenly shut off without any warning. After the engine shut off the collision warning, battery and oil light indicators came on. The car remained in drive and started to roll backwards. When pressing the engine start button, nothing happened. After a few minutes the car was able to be restarted.

My car shut off while I was driving it with no warning and almost caused an accident. I have already had spark plugs and battery replaced as well as routine maintenance and it has shut off on me 3 times already.

Symptoms: *automatic emergency braking (3 occasions) *slip indicator (3 occasions) *check engine -code p0101 (been on 4 weeks so far) road condition: sunny days aeb and slip indicator lights randomly came on 3 different times. On the 3rd time, check engine light came on together and it's been on ever since. Aeb and slip lights go away after the car is turned off. Having aeb and slip lights on makes the car drive like it is on the lower gear and the engine shut off at every red light. I started noticing the smell of excess gasoline fume especially when the car is moving but not accelerating, meaning that when my foot is off the gas pedal. Because p0101 indicates maf sensor malfunction, I replaced with a hitachi-made maf sensor. For some strange reason, the car lost battery power so I ended up replacing battery at the same time. Unfortunately, the check engine light is still on.

The cvt transmission in my Kicks slips every time I try to accelerate. It will also stall out from time to time, lose power and die. I've had this happen on an interstate before, almost causing a serious wreck. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they keep telling me that there is nothing wrong with it mechanically that they can see.

Car started/idled rough but stopped after acceleration. Mile into drive, yellow ck engine light flashing. Drove home and took it to auto store for free diagnostic. Misfire cylinder 1. Took to nussan dealer where purchased (certified used) to have them check it out. Light is now off, but code is stored. They moved plugs around and sent ne on my way to see if it happened again. Later that day, same thing only worse abd ck engine solid. Had it towed back. Told it was wiring harness. 6000 repair( Nissan covering some). Big expense for a car with only 51,000 miles, and not covered by warrenty.

October 2019, I purchased a 2019 Nissan Kicks and had no issues until last December. Took the car to the dealership because it would start jerking randomly when trying to accelerate. I’ve taken my car to the dealership for this issue 6 times and each time I’m told something different. I’ve had my transmission replaced twice within 7 months, new throttle body, mass air flow sensor and my ecm replaced and the jerking is still there but has never triggered the check engine light.

The motor/engine consumes excess oil creating a burnt smell and a lot of whitesmoke coming out of the muffler. The vehicle is stalling constantly and won’t accelerate properly while driving. Creating an unsafe environment for me and those driving near me. I have repair and install new piece but non of them would fix the problem. I took it to the dealer and they didn’t find the problem. I have heard of a lot of people having the same issue with this model of vehicle.

I purchased a Nissan Kicks 2020 7 weeks ago. Yesterday while at a stop light, the engine shut off and then the battery and oil light popped on. This was extremely dangerous as I was on a busy highway and had to panic on what to do. I ended up having to put it in park and cut it back on. After researching this online, I have found other people are having the exact same issue. I checked for a recall and see none! how has there not been a recall? I had my three children in the car with me (one being a newborn) and was scared to death!.

Abs, ccs cruise control, air pressure monitor, laser/radar, intelligence key, radar stain, center sonar, radar circuit unit,airbag lights poa90 recall engine control module, transmission, collison lights, pre-existing damages, it has defects it started intermittent stalling at 66,541 miles upon buying it at 59,290 miles. All the dashboard lights on. It's a hazards it's to risky it won't start sometimes it leaves us on the side of the road. Sometimes we have to tow it. 4.

The components that failed in multiple instances include the engine shutting off in traffic at a stop light, the failure to accelerate as if the engine is stuck, and the forward collision warning indicator repeatedly coming on while driving with no one is front of me. An accident almost occurred while sitting at the traffic light when the car shut off and while trying to get on the highway and being unable to pick up speed puts our safety at risk. Additionally, the potential for an accident to occur while driving if the engine shuts off or forward collision sensor triggers the automatic emergency braking system. The problems have been reported to the service center and the vehicle is scheduled for inspection and a diagnostic 02/20/23. There were no warning signs in the engine failure incident at the traffic light. The forward collision warning light comes on sporadically. The engine acceleration issue happens at unknown times while pulling off from lights to getting on the interstate ramps.

Since I got the Kicks in may of this year 2022 I have had multiple incidents where the lights for the sensors come on out of nowhere and it shows 3 messages for . Sensor malfunction. They popped on again a few days ago and now the check engine light is on and the code it's showing is main air flow sensor failure. That sensor from what I have been told should last a long time. I have had it 7 months and it's only 2 years old. I change the air filter every oil change and with the sensor failed it won't drive proper causing a safety hazard for me and my children.

Was driving on the interstate when all of the sudden any time I would hit the accelerator it would start to brake. I went from going 60 to 45 and realized I had to pull over and was able luckily to get to a median to call aaa. Once I got to the median my battery and oil change light appeared and ac stopped working. I attempted to turn my car off and it would just automatically restart. I did that three times and on the third time the lights turned off and ac was back blowing cold but still couldn’t move my vehicle. Aaa then towed it to their facility and said it was transmission issues and he had never seen something like it before since no sensors were notified to the issue. It’s now being towed from the aaa center and is being taken to the dealership closest for repairs. I’m still waiting to hear back from maus Nissan about my car and where to go from here. It’s very troubling to be traveling at such a fast speed to nothing at all and luckily I was able to pull over to safety.

Motor issues constant ticking noise the motor is making looks like Nissan is not wanting to cover powertrain warranty looks like upper part of motor has issues and could stop working at anytime especially on a busy highway.

Here I am for a 3rd time reporting an issue with this car. After work I went to get in my car. I could not turn it on, I was not able to push the brake and a lot of lights came on. I decided it needed jumped so I got jumped. The next day I remote start the car and see it did not turn on. So I went out to start it and it once again didnt start. I jumped it again. I then decided it needed a new battery as it was the original to the car. I went to batteries plus and the guy was not even sure how I managed to jump it as it was completely drained. He mentioned something about the alternator. The one I just had replaced a year ago for my car stopping on me at speeds of 50+. He recommended me not to drive it and get it towed to a dealership. He tested my alternator and said it is not testing where is should. I had a tow truck driver follow me to south colorado springs Nissan. I took it in they said the battery test (brand new battery that was only hours old) and my alternator both failed testing. They then let me car sit over the weekend and of course its acting normal now. Clearly something is triggering the alternator to fail quickly as I had just got this one replaced a year ago. That needs to be looked into more. They didn't find anything and sent me on my way. The photos attached are from the 2 years worth of problems I have had.

The contact's mother owns a 2019 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated while she was driving approximately 43 mph, an unknown object struck underneath the vehicle. Car stalls at red lights and the engine turns off with no warning. After, car turns back on and has rough idle and flashes all lights on the dashboard. Went to Nissan dealership and it’s an issue with the mass airflow sensor and throttle body. Coincidentally, the issues arise after the warranty period. Expensive fix and safety issues for city driving.

This car has been shutting down without warning, everything goes haywire and shuts off. When or if it start back up, the gauges aren't working. Several times I have had to jump start the vehicle. I was almost hit by an 18-wheeler, and I cringe at the fact my dad or son could have been driving or I could had my nieces or grandchildren in the car with me. My dad purchased this car last year and it still doesn't have 45,000 miles on it. I tried to get it into a Nissan services center, and I have to wait until the end of next week to have it checked out. This vehicle is a death trap.

When driving my car the slip indicator will come on. My car will then struggle to stay running and then the malfunction light and car collision lights will also pop on. This happens when I am driving at any speed and if I place in park the car will completely shut down.

Brand new 2022 Nissan Kicks s, I was driving home from picking it up at the dealership with only 14 miles on the odometer when I was stopped at a red light and the car shuddered and stalled. The battery and oil dash lights came on. I had to place the car into park, turn it off, and turn it back on to get it moving again. Once restarted, the dash lights went away and the car ran fine. There were no indications prior to the event that anything was wrong or that this would happen. This was incredibly frightening as I was worried traffic behind me would rear end me, even with the hazards on. I am taking it in to be inspected by the dealership this weekend.

Car acceleration delayed. Batteries dying and needing replaced regularly. Needs constant jump starts. Will not accelerate or move in the snow. Does not stop in emergencies. The vehicle was bought brand new and I have had bad luck with the Nissan Kicks 2020 since purchasing it.

205/55/r17 I’ve taken the car to Nissan jackie cooper in tulsa ok they’ve replaced the battery from running on low power. Left it there for two days & they said the computer system is failing always restarting while I’m driving backup camera doesn’t work sometimes or is very very blurry. My car has stalled on me almost daily & shuts down I put it in park & it’s fine but it’s a ticking time bomb it has 47,000 miles always put mobil 1 full synthetic & a mobil one oil filter top of the line these things should absolutely not be happening & also the air filter that lets air into the engine accordion has been loose since I received the car from them. These recalls need to be taken care of.

Car will shut off on its own when sitting at a red light will get a message showing the word malfunction, will restart after several attempts of pressing the start button. Has been taken to the dealer and reported and documented on my service receipt but they could not duplicate the problem and stated car was at specs. This has now happened 4 times in the last 2 weeks.

On September 5th 2021 I purchased a new Nissan Kicks from pine belt Nissan, 229 route 37 east of toms river, NJ. 08753. On Saturday September 11th 2021 I was on my way to work and stopped at the light, the car make a different sound and feel. By the time the light changes and I get to around 100 feet at the gate to the development the car shuts off. I looked around to see if I did anything wrong and to my knowledge I didn’t. The car was still in drive my foot was still on the brakes and on the dash board was the oil and engine lights, then a flash warning saying to push the brakes and start switch to start. I just did exactly that and at the end of work I went to the dealer to have them check the car. I was told to return on Monday. At my return to the dealer on Monday September 13th 2021 I was told the service department cannot recreate the problem, so I should continue to drive the car and if it happens again to take pictures and bring it in. Well on September 16th 2021 it shuts off again this time on a busy street with cars honking and people shouting at me. This time I took the pictures and drove directly to the dealer. I was given a rental and was told they will try to recreate the problem. On September 18th 2021 I receive a call from gary in service who informed me to bring the rental back and pickup my car because they cannot find anything wrong with it. I returned the rental and request anew Kicks because I feel unsafe in the other one. My sales person showed me two new cars saying it’s the only new vehicle on the lot. I decline that offer as well as the offer to trade in the car at a loss to me and take another car. I was then referred to Nissan customer service at consumer affairs by mike one of the managers. I spoke to a david on September 22nd 2021 and said they will call me in three days. On the 23rd I receive a call from mia saying the same thing the dealer said. I told her I need my money back, a different car or an atty. She said to get an attorney.

I was driving normally on the road and all of a sudden the check engine lights, automatic collision notification and swerving alarm all come on at the same time. Had no reason to. I stopped the car shut it of and on and all left except the check engine light.

While driving the car display a malfunctioning and shows a collision warning, although it was no collision and the engine shutoff while driving.

I was not aware when I purchased my Nissan last year that the cvt transmissions were crap now my transmission is slipping ! I can’t afford to trade in my car or buy another transmission ! Nissan or the dealer didn’t disclose of this !! I am a widowed mother of two and I need my vehicle to provide for my family ! Nissan should rembursh all the people they scammed so they can purchase a brand new non Nissan car !! Nissan should be out of business.

While driving will stall and power off in the middle of traffic, the dealer said this issue was caused by the idle air control valve sensor, but continued to do this even after the sensor was cleaned and replaced, this has been happening over several years. It started when I received the vehicle 18k miles and continued periodically, it is extremely unsafe, now it is unusable, at 88k miles I am replacing the computer. I hope this will finally fix the issue.
