My Kicks keeps giving the front collision warning, showing malfunction-see owner's manual, the traction light, front impact light and check engine light come on. Then it is extremely slow to accelerate and often doesn't get over 25 mph. In order to get the car working again, you have to pull over, turn the car off, open the door and close the door, and restart the car. Sometimes you have to unplug some sensor on top of the motor and plug it back in to get the car to work.

My car shut off while I was driving it with no warning and almost caused an accident. I have already had spark plugs and battery replaced as well as routine maintenance and it has shut off on me 3 times already.

I was driving about 30 mph when my brakes were put on automatically and a red triangle blinked. I thought the warning had a d in the middle, but I can’t find that as a warning. There was not another car close to me at the time. The warning went away and then the car went back to normal.

Car started/idled rough but stopped after acceleration. Mile into drive, yellow ck engine light flashing. Drove home and took it to auto store for free diagnostic. Misfire cylinder 1. Took to nussan dealer where purchased (certified used) to have them check it out. Light is now off, but code is stored. They moved plugs around and sent ne on my way to see if it happened again. Later that day, same thing only worse abd ck engine solid. Had it towed back. Told it was wiring harness. 6000 repair( Nissan covering some). Big expense for a car with only 51,000 miles, and not covered by warrenty.

October 2019, I purchased a 2019 Nissan Kicks and had no issues until last December. Took the car to the dealership because it would start jerking randomly when trying to accelerate. I’ve taken my car to the dealership for this issue 6 times and each time I’m told something different. I’ve had my transmission replaced twice within 7 months, new throttle body, mass air flow sensor and my ecm replaced and the jerking is still there but has never triggered the check engine light.

My engine light came on, took it down to autozone they said it was the mass airflow. But then took the icon off. I took it to a repair shop and what they found is my car had 3 software updates causing bug fixes and said that Nissan can fix that for free since I have an extended warranty.

I purchased a Nissan Kicks 2020 7 weeks ago. Yesterday while at a stop light, the engine shut off and then the battery and oil light popped on. This was extremely dangerous as I was on a busy highway and had to panic on what to do. I ended up having to put it in park and cut it back on. After researching this online, I have found other people are having the exact same issue. I checked for a recall and see none! how has there not been a recall? I had my three children in the car with me (one being a newborn) and was scared to death!.

On may 14, 2023 I recieved a 'key system warning" took my car to the Nissan dealer (newport news, va) Monday 15 may, was told I needed to have the Nissan per the mechanic, the error code was 6534 cn $330. 00 1 34901-5rc0a device away - transmission control $375. 58 18341 error message for I key due etc b2602 needs to be replaced cut shift selector.

Constant problems with mass air flow sensor. The traction light turns on and when I’m at a full stop, the car starts shaking and stops accelerating. I fixed this issue, but only for it to come back. Now, I noticed there’s delayed acceleration.

The front collision warning light came on and the vehicle would not accelerate. I pulled over, stopped, turned off the car for about 5 minutes. I restarted it and and the front collision ? still didn't turn off and would not accelerate. In park the rpms did not move when I pressed the gas pedal. I turned the car off again for 5 minutes. I opened the hood and closed it and cleared snow from around the tires. I started it and the front collision light went off but the check engine light stays on now. Since then the car will randomly skip and jerk when accelerated between 25 and 35 mph. I checked with auto zone and they said the code is the ecm. Electronic control module. I'm going to have it inspected by a mechanic to confirm the issue.

The vdc system warnings come on have been to the dealer twice not been resolved.

My gear snapped off when I was putting it back into park.

When driving early in the morning or late at night, front impact sensor and front distance sensor lights flash on the dash display for between 2-5 minutes. Vehicle has been to the dealership for this exact issue 3 times previously, have a 4th visit scheduled this coming week.

Was driving on the interstate when all of the sudden any time I would hit the accelerator it would start to brake. I went from going 60 to 45 and realized I had to pull over and was able luckily to get to a median to call aaa. Once I got to the median my battery and oil change light appeared and ac stopped working. I attempted to turn my car off and it would just automatically restart. I did that three times and on the third time the lights turned off and ac was back blowing cold but still couldn’t move my vehicle. Aaa then towed it to their facility and said it was transmission issues and he had never seen something like it before since no sensors were notified to the issue. It’s now being towed from the aaa center and is being taken to the dealership closest for repairs. I’m still waiting to hear back from maus Nissan about my car and where to go from here. It’s very troubling to be traveling at such a fast speed to nothing at all and luckily I was able to pull over to safety.

Component/system involved: infotainment system / radio head unit (including display, carplay integration, and volume control) incident description: since purchasing the vehicle in 2020 with approximately 11,000 miles, the infotainment system has malfunctioned in ways that present a significant safety risk. The most severe issue is a random and uncontrollable spike in audio volume, where the system will suddenly jump from a low setting (e. G. , volume level 8) to the maximum setting (level 40) without user input. This has occurred during normal driving conditions and once caused me to startle so badly that I momentarily lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole base while backing out of a parking lot. The car sustained minor paint damage, but the emotional and physical impact was severe, and the event could have led to a serious accident had there been pedestrians or other vehicles nearby. The display system also randomly reboots itself, emits unexplained notification-like pings while driving, and occasionally becomes unresponsive. These issues are intermittent and cannot be reproduced on command, which has made diagnosis difficult. The problem was originally reported to Nissan of omaha, who failed to order a replacement unit or retain records of the complaint. I later transferred service to cornhusker Nissan of norfolk. In 2023, while the vehicle was still under extended warranty (under 70,000 miles), cornhusker Nissan replicated some symptoms but stated that since no error codes were present, no replacement or repair would be performed. On 6/9/2025, with the vehicle now at 122,000 miles, I brought it in for a master warning light. The dealership retrieved several stored fault codes, most of which were related to the radio head unit, but dismissed them since I hadn’t mentioned audio issues during that visit. However, the system's behavior had never changed — only my willingness to continue reporting it had. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this iss.

Blistering on mirrors, front grille, side windows, Nissan emblem in back, black trim in hatch area, inside the back lightning, entire back plate in hatch area, huge holes in bottom, smell burning smell when driving.

Not sure what causes this failure in the Kicks but if there is any wind at all when driving over 45 mph and/or traveling on a highway, interstate the steering becomes super sloppy and the car is difficult to control and maintain lanes in moderate wind conditions. You have to grip the steering wheel hard and fight to maintain your lane in the wind or pull off until the wind is under 10 mph. It is a serious hazard to occupants and anyone else on the road. All systems were in line and the vehicle only had between 800 - 1000 miles on it, tire pressure was good and all systems were good - the Kicks should not be driven in any weather-related conditions. It was so bad I took a $10k loss on the vehicle with under 6000 miles and traded it in within less than 6 months of purchase. I am on a fixed income so this was a huge expense and not an easy choice to lose that kind of money but it was better than the alternative and trying to drive it in the wind. Please investigate the Kicks before someone dies from this problem. Of note I have a friend with a versa that looks a lot like the Kicks that has the same problem - her solution if there is any wind she stays home and does not drive.

I am not sure what to call it. , the car will turn complete off when driving and it will also have the crash light come on almost all the time along with the car with the wiggle light come on. Also you can smell gas when you put gas in the tank real heavy fume. . . . . I brought this car on oct 1 2022. , I explain to the dealer ship the same thing they stated they could not do anything since I brought the car from the used card department.

Here I am for a 3rd time reporting an issue with this car. After work I went to get in my car. I could not turn it on, I was not able to push the brake and a lot of lights came on. I decided it needed jumped so I got jumped. The next day I remote start the car and see it did not turn on. So I went out to start it and it once again didnt start. I jumped it again. I then decided it needed a new battery as it was the original to the car. I went to batteries plus and the guy was not even sure how I managed to jump it as it was completely drained. He mentioned something about the alternator. The one I just had replaced a year ago for my car stopping on me at speeds of 50+. He recommended me not to drive it and get it towed to a dealership. He tested my alternator and said it is not testing where is should. I had a tow truck driver follow me to south colorado springs Nissan. I took it in they said the battery test (brand new battery that was only hours old) and my alternator both failed testing. They then let me car sit over the weekend and of course its acting normal now. Clearly something is triggering the alternator to fail quickly as I had just got this one replaced a year ago. That needs to be looked into more. They didn't find anything and sent me on my way. The photos attached are from the 2 years worth of problems I have had.

Purchased vehicle new and the dealership delivered it to the house the mileage was under 300. Drove the car approximately 100 miles and while driving on the interstate on the return trip there was a slight wind under 10 mph. The vehicle was difficult to control as the slightest wind causes the vehicle steering to drift over and the steering is so temperamental that the slightest correction can make you overcorrect. Driving in windy conditions is very difficult and you have to hold the steering wheel tightly to keep the vehicle from leaving the roadway. Passing trucks also cause the vehicle steering to be a problem. I do not know if it is due to vehicle weight, the design of the body, or the steering system. I have a friend with a versa that is almost identical to my car and she experiences the same problem with her steering in the wind - her solution is she never drives if there is the slightest wind. I wish I had not purchased the vehicle unfortunately it had already been a week or two since purchase when I drove it more than a mile from my home. It now has almost 5000 miles on it and with the recent storms and 20 mph winds, it is not safe to operate on any highway or interstate due to the steering issue. The car was bought outright from the dealership.

I have reached approximately 67k miles in my 2019 Nissan Kicks sr and the front passenger wheel bearing is going out and needs replaced already. I found out after having my car appraised on July 15th, 2022 and then on about August 4th, 2022 I could hear a loud hum like noise and felt an almost warbling feeling when driving over 40mph. This car has been shutting down without warning, everything goes haywire and shuts off. When or if it start back up, the gauges aren't working. Several times I have had to jump start the vehicle. I was almost hit by an 18-wheeler, and I cringe at the fact my dad or son could have been driving or I could had my nieces or grandchildren in the car with me. My dad purchased this car last year and it still doesn't have 45,000 miles on it. I tried to get it into a Nissan services center, and I have to wait until the end of next week to have it checked out. This vehicle is a death trap.

Sometimes, the blind spot warning doesn't work. I need to re-start the car to make it works. After I filling gas, the car can't move for 7 seconds even though the car is accelerated and the clock that measures the rotation go up to 4 - 4. 5 and when it starts moving, this clock comes to 2. Also after a stop, the car doesn't move , doesn't accelerate, it has to wait for 7 seconds and starts moving slow for more few seconds. This problem was shown more than 10 times. One time, I accelerated a lot, and the car started jumping like a "crazy horse" . The battery was dead twice. It was recharged and works fine.

Vehicle not drivable will not shift gears.

Vehicle will not accelerate beyond 35 mp h.

Hvac unit doesn’t function properly which causes a lot of distractions while driving. When set at 60 or 61 degrees with ac off car air is cool. When set at 62 or higher it blows very hot where it becomes uncomfortable. It leads to always having to play with buttons and knobs. Nissan says it’s functioning properly even though there is a forum of people with same issue.

While running errands on yesterday, car shut off several times while stopped at traffic light. Several lights appeared on dashboard, including engine oil, battery, automatic emergency braking and slip indicator lights. While stopped, had to put car in park turn the car off and then turn the car on again. My battery is in good condition. Was able to drive home, let the car sit and then approx 30 mins later, cranked the car back up and the lights went away and car was running like normal.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? forward collision - warning lights how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - vehicle slowed to a stop and would not move forward. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no.

A few weeks ago while I was driving 50mph on a completely dry hwy the slip indicator came on. I thought I accidentally hit traction control so I hit that button and then realized they we two different icons. Shortly after the slip indicator came on the screen popped up saying malfunction see owners manual. I pulled over where lights just started popping on and then my car died. After waiting 6 hours for a tow truck it was finally brought to the dealership. They did their inspection and said I needed a new alternator and they replaced that. Today 3 weeks later my car was parked. I was going to leave as my car was on and malfunction see owners manual and the slip indicator started popping on. I went to put it in reverse and could not press the peddles and gravity rolled me back. I then had to throw it into park to stop it. I turned off my car and same thing again. I turned it off again and restarted and it was fine. I took it back to the dealership and they are still trying to figure out what is going on. This is extremely dangerous especially it stopping when driving. Looks like I am not the only one having this problem.

The transmission will rumble/grind on take off from a stopped position. The transmission also has a hard time changing gears when you get to the 3rd gear going about 35 - 40 mph and randomly slipping rpms. This has happened multiple times within the last five weeks (10/29/2021).

Vehicle randomly brakes and shuts down. Had sensor replaced yet problem resurfaced yesterday.

While driving the car display a malfunctioning and shows a collision warning, although it was no collision and the engine shutoff while driving.

Upon acceleration vehicle stalls and will not move forward, I had to put car in park, turn off and then restart engine to accelerate. This issue has happened many times over the last month with no idea of what the faulty issue might be. I was almost side wiped in an intersection due to the car not wanting to accelerate and it requiring to be restarted to get it to move. It only does this after driving and coming to a stop and then attempting to move forward. There has been a message thats come across the dashboard twice that says system off, however it's not causing the check engine light to come on.

Sensor that states there has been a malfunction in the front braking system comes on randomly. The aeb system also stops the car at random times when nothing is in the road, good weather, sometimes going 75mph on the highway. Same thing has also happened driving in a parking garage or down a main road. I have also been in cruise control on the highway and this braking system comes on. I thought it was an isolated incident but it has happened at least 6 times. The date below only reflects the most recent incident.

The car is randomly stalling and shutting off when I have the car in drive. It has happened to me multiple times, and the dealer said that there was nothing they could do.
