Service Brakes Problems of Nissan Kicks - part 2

The front collision sensor light comes on three to four times a week without any cars or objects in front of the car. The car speed is below 30 miles when it comes on too. This coincides with the braking system to kick in and slow down the car. It is risky for us to drive when the car woul brake suddenly with no collision danger in front of us. We haven't taken the car to a dealer yet, but planning to if the issue persists for further inspection. The issue started 2 months or so ago. I am the owner of the vehicle but my daughter was the driver and I am making the complaint on her behalf but she can provide additional details. The vehicle began making a grinding sound at times that sounds similar to the anti-lock braking. Then on oct 29 the vehicle locked down the brakes as she was pulling into the parking lot at work when there was not a collision imminent. She skidded into the curb damaging her front driver side wheel. We took the vehicle to the dick smith Nissan dealer in lexington SC but they told us they couldn't reproduce the failure and recommended we bring it back if it happened again. We went to pick up the vehicle but before leaving with the car I drove the car around the parking lot and the forward collision light came on in under a minute. They immediately took the car back to service to read the code and asked if we could leave the vehicle with them. They called back after a day or two and said they have no repair and recommended we contact Nissan consumer affairs and start a case. We started a case on 11/5/2021 and the case number is 45086982.

Vehicle randomly brakes and shuts down. Had sensor replaced yet problem resurfaced yesterday.

The automatic emergency braking (aeb) and radar system is faulty which makes the vehicle suddenly brakes on it's own. My daughter reported that the alert light began coming on about a week ago. Then the yesterday (9/26/2021) the vehicle suddenly braked on its own while she was driving. She added that there was no vehicle or object in front of the vehicle at the time of the self-braking. This is a serious safety concern. After research into this matter, I have learned that both Nissan and the national highway traffic safety administration are aware of the situation but have yet to issue a recall for the faulty aeb in a number of their models.

I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden the automatic brake activated. There were two icons that lit up on the dashboard. One of them was a triangle with an! in the middle and the other one look like a collision. However, there was no one next to me. I did not hit anyone. I called the dealership as I just bought this car last week and they said that this car is usually very sensitive. However, I have been in traffic since purchasing the car and never did this happen. I am very scared that this will happen again. I am very scared that I may have purchased a lemon and they are not telling me.

While driving on incline, car will pop malfunction code for emergency braking. Owners manual says to take to dealership. Code is for laser misalignment that controls emergency breaking. Has happened twice, dealership just calibrates laser. Happened again yesterday as well.

The Nissan emergency braking system is giving out false warnings. The system on my car has given me hundreds of false readings and warnings while in motion, mostly on highways and expressways. Nissan refuses to say they have a problem with this. I fear that the system will malfunction and stop me for no reason on the expressway.

When car is turned on, and is on idle within 3 minutes it shuts off. When driving around town and stopped at light or slowly driving car will turn off. Engine will shake at times and refuse to go into drive and move as if it were put into neutral. Break lights are beginning to turn while in drive. Especially when turning car on, I have to bring the break clutch up and back down to turn off. However, the light will turn on again and beep while in drive. All the radio does is constantly shut down all the time and reset itself, or completely freeze. Collision light also turns on when stopped in light, or driving. I have to continuously turn the car off and wait until the car is safe to drive. Problems began when I first bought the car in 2019, and has continues until today. Many customers do complain about the same problems they have about the car.

I was driving my vehicle on a road with a 35 mph speed limit wit no cars in front of or behind me, and my vehicles automatic emergency braking engaged, slowing my car down for no reason. There were no obstacles ahead of me.

Nissan aeb (automatic emergency braking) has a serious issue that could leave people seriously injured that could be fatal. The aeb system sometimes malfunctions on a broad range of Nissans causing them to abruptly stop while stopping. This is only supposed to occur in an accident.

The emergency braking system activated on its own and bring the vehicle to dead half when nothing is in front of me.

The contact own a 2019 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated there was a backup camera recall prior to the accident. The contact stated after driving approximately 5 mph going uphill to a driveway, she then put the gear into reverse and then into the drive to move forward slowly; however, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated. The contact then attempted to press on the brakes; however, the vehicle ran into the house. The contact stated the rear camera was not operable, in addition to the brakes. There was a front seat passenger in the vehicle as well. The vehicle hit a concrete beam on the house. The garage and house were damaged. The contact was unaware of any warning lights illuminated. There were no air bags deployed. The contact knees and elbows and head were injured. The passenger had minor injuries, but no bleeding. No police or fire was not on the scene, and there were no reports filed. The front passenger end of the vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was towed to the local body shop. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

Automatic emergency braking (aeb) system warning light (if so equipped) I purchased my 2018 Nissan Kicks in Feb of 2019, and have been experiencing issues with the warning light that looks like two cars colliding randomly appearing along with a message "unavailable front radar obstruction. " these warning lights can come on at any given time during the time in which the vehicle is driven, and began shortly after purchase of the vehicle. Weather conditions, etc have no effect on this issue. The warning light/message has come on when it's sunny. It can come on when changing lanes, and not even having a vehicle directly in front of you. I monitored the behavior for quite awhile in order to confirm this was an actual defect. My vehicle is garaged most of the time, and there has been no damage to it whatsoever. After further research, I checked the owners manual then realized the warning light that I have been seeing is actually the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system warning light. The message that appears on the dash indicates a front radar obstruction, or impact near the front of the car as well. These may be two separate issues, but they occur at the same time everytime. I always see the aeb light, and the front radar obstruction warning simultaneously. I have also had problems with the blind spot warning lights randomly appearing, and my back up cam glitching out/freezing in the process of backing up.

Frequent automatic emergency braking deactivation while driving during which a warning is displayed that the system is deactivated, a warning light is displayed and cruise control is deactivated.
