Car failed safety inspection due to rusting of floorboards on driver and front passenger side. Turns out this is a systemic problem with model years 2002-2006. How can this not be a safety issue??.
04v326000 one of the recall number the other is 05v512000 not sure what to do at this point I've changed my timing chain also already I also received a letter stating if I had to replace it to contact Nissan I believe I'm just getting the run around.
My complaints is due to the cheap steal that Nissan uses to build there vehicles just to save a buck. When I take my car in for an inspection and it failed because the passenger side floor panel has holes in the the floor that you could step right trhu. That is not the only rot from rust the frame of the vehicle up front has rotted so bad that the part of the frame that holds the motor in the vehicle has rotted so bad that the inspector was worried about me driving home after I had failed the inspection. This was discovered by a mechanic that was going to fix my exhaust up front. I am a disabled veteran and this car with a real frame on it would have lasted many more years and I just do not have the funds to run out and buy a new car. This is the manufactures fault and they should be paying for it to be fixed. Sounds like the same problem that they had on all of those pickups that they had to fix. What is this going to that the motor to fall out on the high way and kill someone. This is and has been a big problem with this company going on for years. Someone do something for the consumer. After paying $40,000. 00 dollars for this car I thought I would get more out of it than having it rot out from under me.
Takata recall I have transmission problems.
The glass of the skyview sun roof shattered. At the time discovered the vehicle was parked.
The transmission is jerking when it's trying to shift.
Transmission jerks, slips while driving also banging sounds when you change gears this has been happening for awhile I had transmission fluid flushed, had the engine speed sensor replaced, now I was told I need transmission replaced 90,898 miles had to replace under car body because it rotted out.
During driving its jerking and bumping shows "service engine" alert. Mechanic verified and he said may be transmission have issue.
Floorboards on '04 Maxima completely rusted through. Car is 1 owner, garaged, low mileage. Rear sub frame part was replaced on recall shortly after purchase. Reason- not suitable for northern climate. Car was bought and is still in st. Louis area.
I just bought a 2004 Maxima on August 2014. Just brought the car for a oil and the mechanic told me that a have a rotted floor panel an the passanger side. Went on line and notice that I was not the only person with this problem. Can you help? I dont feel safe in this vehicle. I have children and iam afraid that this can cause a accident.
Vehicle is showing early signs of transmission failure. When slowing down, down shifting to the lower gear is harsh. The gear is slammed into position and decelerates the vehicle abruptly. After researching this, many other consumers have had complete transmission failure which led to a repair cost between $3000 and $6000. I fear that during the winter time, control of the vehicle could be lost in snowy conditions due to a sudden deceleration leading into a severe accident.
My car failed the safety inspection due to rust on the passenger side has a hole in the floor pan as well as rust in the side rail. I am a disabled form marine vet. My wife left me and everything I had. So I can not afford this to be fixed. From all the completes about this there needs to be a recall. I can not take any pictures because after 3/3 level back fusions I can not get under the car. The problem was found by the state inspection failed due to the rust.
The floor panel on the passenger side has a hole in it due to rust and rot. It failed the state of new hampshire safety inspection, my car is a 2004 Nissan Maxima se, and I am a disabled marine veteran. I took it to a body shop and there cost was $800. 00 dollars and for me being disabled I can not afford that cost. Nissan needs to step up here and fix what is right, not to call me and try to sell me a new car. I told the dealer who is going to pay for this new car. I am so sick of being a disabled marine veteran and being treated like crap. Most people just do not give a crap they just want your money, something I do not have. My car was in a garage most of the time in a small town.
Transmission failure - I was driving my vehicle on the highway with my 1 year old child when all of a sudden the transmission slipped and failed. I went from doing 50 to 5 on the highway in front of an 18 wheeler. Luckily I am a good driver and used my sences to pull over as quickly and safely as possible.
Floorboard in my 2004 Nissan Maxima is rotted out. Passenger side is almost right through. My mechanic said no other cars have this problem. Obviously, it is a Nissan defect. Safety issues aside, Nissan should stand by their product. We pay good money and expect to get what we paid for. Hold them accountable to fix or reimburse their customers! it is your job and responsibility to protect the consumer. Thank you.
Transmission problems causes car to jerk very badly, acts as tho it does not want to go. Pulling off you will have to make sure no cars are coming at all because if you just go, you're likely to be hit.
Transmission slipping almost ran into another car. This is a major problem I see after doing online research.
I am the owner of a 2004 Nissan Maxima w/124,000 miles. I have been experiencing transmission problems since around 115,000 mile. It seems liken there has been a plethora of the same complaints with these transmissions. Can someone please explain to me why there has not been a recall on the vehicles?.
I bought a 2004 Nissan Maxima se a year and two months ago. It had 91,000 miles on it. The transmission started slamming gears a few months ago right around 100k miles. I had it looked at and no problem could be found. But then on 1/8/15 the transmission got stuck in 5th gear. It would go into park and reverse fine but in drive it went straight into 5th. I was able to get it to slowly drive to a friends house wher I parked and left it over night and borrowed a vehicle from them. The next morning I came back cranked it and it was fine. So I drove it towards the repair shop. It dies as I pull in. They run a diagnostic and they say the cam sensor is bad. The really expensive warranty that supposedly covers my car from bumper to bumper is claiming that this part is not covered in my bumper to bumper warranty so now I'm suck with a really expensive repair bill if I want to drive my car again. The thing is I get on line and see that there are thousands and thousands of people who have had the same problems I'm having and Nissan is aware of the defect in the year model of car and are doing nothing to fix it and no ones warranties are covering the repairs. I'm a single mother and I make very little money so I don't have the extra income to fix this problem that clearly should be a recall in the first place. I hope that you will make Nissan accountable one day for their blatant screwing of their customers.
My 2004 Nissan jerks at shifting speed of 15-23 mile per hr.
Passenger side floor boards are rusted through.
My 2004 Maxima is hesitating to shift an im disable living on 700 dollars a month. My daughter is in college driving this car in traffic an im affraid she is going to get hurt making left turns in this car. There have been close calls with me driving it,but I live in south GA. Where people are more sensible toward others. This is a serious problem an someone is going to get killed from these faulty transmission. I have to get a used transmission under 1500 dollars that I had to borrow to keep my child safe. Nissan should be held countable for this. I paid 19000 dollars for this car and your screw up is costing me to put a 2002-2003 transmission in my car. The transmission shops in albany GA. Are thanking Nissan for their 2500-3000 contributions that the 2004-2005 Maxima owners are spending with them and my transmission owner made this statement to me. Aatco transmission of albany who states he has redone so many valve bodies on these cars. I guess some actions will be taken when people that does not has the fundings to fix this problem themselves. I had to drive my car like this until I found the money an it broke all my motor mounts from the jerking and hard shifting.
I bought used 2004 Nissan Maxima car at north shore auto mall on 9/18/14,the service tech. Drove car up to front of dealership w/car still running he test drove car w/me( didn't think anything about it at the time) I got in and we went for a test drive, car was great. Got back to dealer, gave the balance. Once I left dealer, while driving on highway the car started to skip & felt like it was going to stall, I pulled over to right lane, put hazards on w/traffic behind me, the car stalled, I almost caused a collision, cars were beeping, swerving out of the way, I couldn't get any acceleration with it in drive, so I put it in neutral & after 3 try's it started up w/much hesitation. I was scared for my life & others on the road, I took side streets to make it home & when I stopped at stop sign it stalled again, I repeated the same steps as above w/hazards on the whole ride home. Now I know why the service tech. Took test ride w/me. I had a friend with me as my witness. This car wont pass inspection , the check engine light will not turn off, I called dealer he said make an appt, I said I only have 7 days for inspection sticker, he said, he has nothing to do with service and to call them. I called on Monday the 22nd &1st,available appt. Wasn't til 9/25/14, my 7 days were up on that Thursday. He said he'll call me around noon, I waited til Friday 5pm, he nor anyone in serv. Called to update me & let me know car will be there over the weekend. What do I do & whats the time limit on fixing my car w/o any communication to me. Im sooooo upset at the lack of professionalism and ethics, im afraid if I say something derogatory, they will sabotage my car. Please help me. . !!!!.
1n4ba41ex4c896406 starting it up takes 2-3x with putting the gas pedal all the way to the floor, then it jerks into gear. While driving it just stalls out which is very scary & dangerous and it goes from drive to 5th gear no 1-4, and it hesitates & when driving up to a red light for example, then it starts to conk out. Also no pick up from an idle position, I just bought it 9/17/14 and called dealer and he told him it wont pass inspection "check engine light on" constant. It feels like transmission isn't in proper gear (5th) just stalls while driving. Everyone behind me leans on the horn and yells at me when it stalls out in drive. Im afraid to drive it. The dealer (north shore auto mall, lynn MA 01905, mgr name kevin, real jerk !!) said they did a 21 point inspection, but thats bs, they would have caught that seeing that they are in the business and knew they sold me a car w/bad transmission/alternator. Now they dont want to know me. Please give me some resources that you know of to remedy the problem. I could go on & on about the treatment I had to endure but that wont help hopefully you can regards susan dallesandro 857-237-7661 suzydell@gmail. Com ".
Car have a hard jerk when shifting. Also when slowing down and trying to accelerate my car jerk real hard like someone kicked me from behind.
Purchased this car approx 4 weeks ago. On drive home from dealership, transmission got worse and worse. Transmission had to be replaced - total overhaul. Also passenger floorboard is almost rusted through. Similar complaints found online consumer reviews. Recurring problem with this model and year.
My Nissan Maxima jerks from 1st to 2nd gear. Its uncontrolable and extremely dangerous. It isalso delayed when switching from drive to reverse. I could live with repairing these issues if they werent common but the amount of people that ive read about with the same issues shows me that its nothing I did. Its clearly a manufacturing issue and its a shame that Nissan doesnt stand by their products.
I am wondering how to figure out if the recalls on my car have been fixed. I have had it under a year and have been having problems with what has been recalled and want to make sure the previous owner had them fixed.
Drove my 2004 Nissan Maxima off the lot on 3/3/14 and noticed a jerk once I got to 30mph, the dealership told me after I purchased it that what ever problems I have I need to fix myself because I bought the car "as is".
While vehicle in for routine service, the technician pointed out significant rot to front passenger floor board on the undercarriage of the vehicle. I see from the listed complaints that this seems to be a systemic problem for this particular vehicle and model year.
Transmission jerking hard shifting , whole car hiccups, wont shift gears, car gives out. Stuck in one gear.
Rusting of underbody {floor board} driver and passager, visible holes, diameter size of over 1 foot.
Engine light continues to come on> thumping sound under hood when started. Timing chain issues!!!!!! this is known according to extensive research to Nissan. Why in the world is there nothing done about it?! we are hard working people and spend hard earned money to purchase a car and there is no recourse for a messed up part!!!!.
While driving my vehicle started having problems stopping. It was determined that the abs system is not working properly. The vehicle is pulsing while stopping. I checked the internet and found this to be an ongoing problem. I then called a local Nissan dealer who also stated it is a problem & there is a bulletin regarding the abs system. Yet there is no recall on it. Once again Nissan not taking responsibilty for the problems with their vehicles. Nissan is telling me that the cost to repair this problem can be in excess of $1500. 00. This is disgraceful. It is obvious there is a problem. I cannot wait to get rid of my Nissan. I will never buy another one. I will also be filing a complaint with bbb, consumer reports, all automobile outlets and of course the internet.
On Saturday January 5th 2013, my engine light came on. I called carmax on Monday January 7th 2013 to get my extended warranty information. I scheduled an appointment with passport Nissan located in oxon hill, MD. The service department told me. I need to have my timing chain, gears, guides and tensions replace for $2,619. 00 with replacing the oil cooler (it has leakage) $698. 00. Well my extended warranty expired when my car hit 100,000. If I had known this before I purchase the car from carmax, I would have never took it off the lot. By the way I only had the car since April 2011. I need help!!!!! I need to express to you the importance for me to have reliable transportation. I have a young child who I need to take to school each day. Without my transportation, my son would have to walk a full mile to the bus stop by himself alone at 7am. By the way it¿s dark at that time and it¿s close to an open street. I myself without transportation, I would have to walk a mile plus to a bus stop to catch a bus to the train station. From the train station I have to take a train to work and walk additional mile plus to work. This is very over whelming because i¿m still paying a car note and car insurance for a car I can¿t drive. I¿m being put in a difficult situation because I can¿t afford to get my car fixed.
