9 Headlights problem of the 2014 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

The low beam headlights on my 2014 Nissan Maxima are so dim it truly is a serious safety concern. I literally cannot see 2 feet in front of my car at any speed. My blinkers emit more lummis than my low beams. Needs to be recalled as I have researched and found hundreds of Nissan owners with the same problem.

10 Headlights problem of the 2014 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 09/24/2019

The low beam headlights on my 2014 Nissan Maxima s are so dim that I am scared to drive my car at night. The high beams are as bright as the low beams should be. We have replaced with top of the line bulbs & it hasn't helped at all. This is a serious safety issue & Nissan needs to address this before people are injured because they can't see well enough to drive. Another issue with my car is airbags not deploying as they should. My car collided with a 18-wheeler on the interstate. The 18-wheeler came over into my lane latching onto the passenger side of my car. Once I broke loose from the truck, I veered into the median hitting 2 road signs head on & my air bags never deployed. This has to be a defect that needs to be addressed as well.

14 Headlights problem of the 2014 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 11/15/2018

Recently bought a used 2014 Nissan Maxima. The low beam headlights are so dim that the car is dangerous to drive at night. Took it to the dealer and they said this is a common problem for this car; opaque and yellowing material inside the sealed headlight assembly which cannot be accessed. Both headlight assemblies will have to be changed out, which requires removing the bumper.

15 Headlights problem of the 2016 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 02/23/2018

Vehicle has heavy fogging of passenger side headlight which has become increasingly evident. The symptom has progressed to the point where it is causing electrical issues in the form of flickering headlights and inconsistent directional signals when the weather conditions are wet enough. This is a safety issue. One photo I have taken reveals what is an apparent internal crack in the assembly. This was not caused by any external forces, impact, etc. It is internal to the assembly.

16 Headlights problem of the 2014 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 02/11/2018

Not long after I purchased the vehicle I noticed the headlights were really dim and low. I thought it was just the bulbs. So eventually I bought brand new bulbs top shelf which did not fix the problem. I have took to several shops and basically have been told I will need a whole new light assembly and it has to do with the projector headlight. My issue is paying all the money on a new assembly if I will continue to have the same recurring issue. I can not see at all. I also have done re search and seen where a lot of altima and Maximas between certain years are having the same issue. I was directed to this website to file my complaint. This should definitely be recalled and fixed complimentary by Nissan.

17 Headlights problem of the 2013 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 08/01/2017

The dim headlight setting is so dim that car can not be safely operated after dark without turning on the bright light setting. It is a safety hazzard! I have been a mechanic for 30 years and have never seen such poor headlights. I have changed the bulbs but it has made no difference. I have read several foums about the altima model having this same problem. They should be recalled by the manufacturer. They are dangerous.

24 Headlights problem of the 2006 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

In June of 2010 we started to notice condensation building up in the left driver side headlight. It got progressively worse but the leesburg FL Nissan service department said to ignore it since it was very expensive ($1200) to replace the unit. Then in Feb of 2011 we noticed that the xenon bulb in that fixture had blown out. We don't do too much night driving so we don't know exactly when it blew, but it seems the excessive condensation contributed to the bulb's failure. Aside from the expense of replacing the bulb and fixture, the headlight assembly condensation problem seems a safety issue (and a manufacturer defect) because of reduced visibility and the prospect of the xenon bulb failing prematurely.

26 Headlights problem of the 2005 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 12/02/2008

I live in washington state. I bought my 2005 Maxima se in Feb 24 2007 with 48,000 miles on it. When it reach 98,000 miles (mostly highway miles), my automatic transmission began displaying shifting problems. 1. From park and/or reverse to drive it had a 5 second delay to shift into gear, and when it did it shifted hard. 2. Transmission slipped out of gear during slow and go driving causing the engine to rev at high rpm?s and then slamming into gear. 3. Very hard shifts between 1st and 2nd gear when shifting up and down at speeds of 15 to 25 mph. 4. Once it slipped out of gear, and shut my engine down. During slow and go driving I could feel the transmission begin to shift at15 mph, and get a hard shift at about 20 and 25 mph. It shifted hard back and forth between high and low gears. I also, experienced lag time, and high rpm?s before it slammed into gears when shifting. Every transmission place I went to wanted $3500 to $4000 to replace it. As an alternative, I bought a used automatic transmission with 62,000 miles in Dec 15 2008, and had it installed for $2000. 00. After 150,000 miles (mostly highway miles) on the replacement transmission I began to experience identical problems as described above. I?ve had the cam sensors, solenoids, and fluids replaced and it still response the same way. I find it odd of 2 different transmissions that acting the same way. Also, ever since I got this car I have to replace the headlights ever year. Not good for a car that cost $40,000 new from a company that used to have a good reputation.

The failure has occurred ever since the vehicle was purchased, however, the contact first realized it at 5,000 miles. She has attempted to speak with the dealer on numerous occasions and was informed that someone would return her call. Her call has not yet been returned. 30 Headlights problem of the 2005 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 08/18/2006

The projector headlamps on my 2005 Nissan Maxima have failed to perform as designed and have been replaced once, and is currently working in the shop for repeat of initial failure. The headlamp assemblies were replaced initially as a whole and the problem was corrected for about 6 months. The issue is that the projector lamps utilize a shutter to change from high to low beam. After the lamp has operated for a period of time (30 min-1 hour) the shutter does not move fully, leaving the lamps in a partial or full high beam mode, even when low beam is called for by the control switch. This is a hazard to oncoming drivers, and I get flashed by oncoming traffic frequently.

31 Headlights problem of the 2005 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 12/04/2005

2005 Nissan Maxima headlights stolen. Was never told that this is a very popular hot market item that many thieves are stealing. Factory alarm only goes off if someone tries to drive away with the car but if the lights are tampered with or stolen they do not go off. If Nissan knew these lights are so popular among thieves then they should have given me the option to add a special alarm that would go off when someone tries to steal these popular lights.

32 Headlights problem of the 2000 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/10/2005

Maybe the dealership might find the problem. 31'431 mi. - I still hear the grinding noise, the cover under engine was loose, my air conditioner was not cold enough, and the center console was loose. =this time the dealership said it was the heat shield for the grinding noise, they fixed the loose cover under engine, fixed center console, and replaced low pressure hose in the a/c. 31'813 mi. - car still making the grinding noise, I hear knocking noises from the back of the car when I reverse, and the a/t light stays on longer than normal, then turnes off. = dealer replaced front exaust pipe, said the knocking noise I hear in the back of the car, is from the aftermarket air cleaner. (that is in the front of car). When I picked up my car from the dealership, I felt like this time my car was going to be fixed. I got in my headed for home.
