The fuel gauge is malfunctioning. When filling the vehicle, the needle goes beyond the f mark or drops to the e mark triggering the low fuel light to come on. According to my research, this was found to be a recall in the quest however many other owners of other Nissan models are reporting the same issues. An investigation really needs to be launched.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated that the fuel gauge failed. The contact would add fuel to the vehicle but the fuel gauge would not move. The contact was unable to determine the amount of fuel in the vehicle at all times. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection where they advised that the unified unit assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they advised the contact that he would have to take the vehicle to the dealer for repairs. The failure mileage was 22,000.
