Alternator went out this is the third one. I looked up the recalls on my car and there happened to be one on the alternator and I’ve reached out to Nissan dealership of bakersfield and havnt received a response.
My vehicle has been named in 4 recalls but my VIN number isn't included in any of them when I take it into the Nissan dealership even though every recall that has been reported is what has been either a recurring issue with my vehicle or something that has been starting to show some symptoms.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted on the first attempt occasionally; however, several attempts were needed to start the vehicle on other occasions. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while at a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the accelerator pedal sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. An unknown dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the accelerator pedal had been discontinued. The contact stated that the independent mechanic replaced the accelerator pedal with a part purchased from a junkyard; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
Replaced alternator and battery car drives short distance and just stops accelerating and than won't start back up unless jumped. Will not drive a mile without going limp and no acceleration.
Same problem of a recall campaign of a throttle valve issue has happened three times in the last two months; engine does not respond with an accelerator in stop & go conditions. It was/is resolved by turning off ig and re-start.
Tl the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off and, on occasion, the engine could not be started. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000. The VIN was invalid.
When taking off from a complete stop or trying to acclerate the revs to 3000 rpm and not gain any speed, you have push and let off the accelerator several times just to maintain any kind of forward momentum the car can muster. I dont know why the car will not gain any speed. This could be a real safety issue on a busy roadway. I have read many other post about similiar issue like mine and it sounds like the cvt are very unreliable and Nissan should do the right thing for us car owners, the car only has 91000 miles on it and this issue should not be ocurring in so many vehicles. Their should be something done about this issue to help the owners out. Nissan knows that there cvt transmission are very faulty and will not hold up. . . .
I was driving Nissan Murano on a city street. The "check engine soon" light came on. I stopped and parked. Then it had hard time to start. I kept holding igniting and started the car. Then I drove to goodyear car service. They told me to replace crank sensor.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle would wobble and the engine service warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing, but the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 224,000.
While driving in rush hour traffic mind u a big truck was behind me traffic is stop and go, as I press down on the accelerator there was no movement from my vehicle, like it loss power, I though maybe the gear was changed, but then it dawned on me that this has happened to me not once or twice, but it's beginning to happen more frequently this is not normal. I confirmed that the gear was still in drive, as I pressed down on the accelerator my vehicle jerked as it proceeded to take off (as if it was in turbo boost), I could have hit someone else's car (good thing I didn't). This is a very serious matter many, many lives are at stake. I'm disappointed that this matter have not raised corporate eyes at Nissan . The reason for this page is for consumers to report complaints but it seems as if I'm not getting the answering that's needed to fix this serious issue and nor are the other owners who have listed their complaints. This issue should not be addressed after people have lost their lives by having/causing accidents due to loss of power. This is scary for myself and my family. I get nervous when driving on the highway and or the expressway not knowing when this faulty power train issue will happen. Good thing that big truck didn't run into the back of me that would have been deadly. No one should have to jeopardize their lives and others. Nissan should correct this problem immediately. How and when is it determined on what complaint get addressed. Disappointed customer. Also, the actuators on my passenger side both front and back does not work they have to be locked manually along with the hatch it doesn't seem to lock either. The actuators should not go out and should be replaced.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that there was a leak on the front and rear floors that progressed without warning. When the air conditioner was activated, it dripped water. In addition, there was water near the spare tire carrier. The cause of the failure was unknown. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where it was diagnosed that the freon needed to be filled. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.
I'm having problems with my cvt transmission, when I press on the gas pedal it hesitate to go I went to a mechanic and they say it was the cvt. I researched the problem and see owners having the same problem, I'm just wondering why this isn't a recall. This vehicle always get maintenance.
Tl the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off. On multiple occasions, the engine would not start. The vehicle was taken to davis moore Nissan (7576 east kellogg, wichita, KS), to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,000.
Vehicle stopped while driving. Car was still running but would not move. Took it to the Nissan dealership and they said it was the transmission and the main problem with the Murano is the universal serious problem with the cvt transmission and transfer plate which costs $4600 to replace. The technician said Nissan will not fix the problem, I have to buy/replace the transmission.
Traveling on the intrastate and the vehicle lost power, no acceleration to the vehicle. The engine revved but no response. In the meantime, I had to try to cross two lanes of traffic to get to the side of the road. Not a good thing to attempt in rush hour traffic near chicago. I had it towed in, but unsure of the problem or the cost at this time.
Tranmission fails in traffic. Cannot accelerate. This is a safety harzdard where lives are being put at risk.
Just l 2 weeks ago my transmission was replaced and a week later my transfer case unit needed to be replaced. After doing research I found out that this was a common issue with the Nissan Murano with year ranging from 2003-2009.
The heater core is causing a problem with the windshield. No one sells the replacment part but the dealer.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated when attempting to accelerate and the engine light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000. The VIN was not available.
Vehicle had no acceleration. When idiling at a light and then depressing the accelerator pedal there was a 3 or 4 second delay before the vehicle moved. Acceleration was very sluggish for the next 5 minutes and then the problem went away. Problem happened again about 6 weeks later. Vehicle idled smoothly. Engine ran fine, just no acceleration.
The first time that this issue happened I was driving down a a mountain with lots of curves when the car lost power. I would press on the gas pedal but the car would not respond as I started to head into a curve all the lights in my center console came on and the car shut itself off. I quickly proceeded to put the car in neutral with one hand and with the other on the steering wheel driving the vehicle as I was going around a sharp curve. I was able to start it up again but this was in my opinion very dangerous. I took it to the Nissan dealership and they could not figure out what the issue. Some months later I was driving around town and my Murano would not move even though I was pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor I pulled over to inspect the engine compartment to see if I could fined the problem. Finally after about 45 min. It regained the ability to move again. I have taken it to different mechanics but they have not been able to get a code for this problem and all I keep hearing from them is to continue to drive it until it gets worse. As I have stated before I find this issue to be very dangerous and that is why I send Nissan an email to let them know about my dissatisfaction with their product and to let them know that I will never again purchase another Nissan product.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving up an incline the vehicle lost power abnormally. The contact had to shift into reverse in order to maneuver the vehicle off the roadway. The vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 05v319000 (electrical system: alternator generator regulator). The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer nor was the vehicle repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 71,000.
I own a 2004 Nissan Murano and have had troubles with vehicle hesitation . It is most present when in stop and go traffic and the engine is warm. After about 20 minutes of stop and go, the gas pedal doesn't respond for a few seconds and the vehicle suddenly jerks forward aggressively presenting a very dangerous situation.
Vehicle stops running after being started. Car will start and then die.
1. Event leading up to the failure - I changed the air cleaner. 2. The engine stops working suddenly while driving. This occurred two times after I had changed the air cleaner. The consequences are that the engine stops running suddenly, without notice, while the vehicle is being operated in traffic. 3. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who performed the repair at no cost in a very short period of time. The service people at the dealer explained that air was leaking in past a sensor that caused the sensor to shut down the engine. The repair consisted of aligning tubes within the air intake system and ensuring they were tight so that no other air could leak in.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate and smoke abnormally. The contact noticed a hole in the engine as if it had been punctured by a component. She is in the process of having the vehicle inspected to determine the cause of the failure. The failure and current mileages were 111,000.
I have had a problems with the cam sensors going bad 3 times on my 2004 Nissan Murano , which have led to my car stopping in the middle of traffic. . . . . .
Nissan recall for 2004 Murano air intake system. The consumer's children were driving the vehicle. When they pulled out of a busy parking lot, the vehicle would not accelerate properly. The vehicle was towed to the closest dealership and the next day, the consumer was informed the transmission had failed and a new one would cost $6,000. Also the door latches and hatch were inoperative. The consumer believed the failure was the result of the recall.
Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Nissan mulano. The contact stated that the vehicle has had electrical system and alternator problems. The vehicle has been taken to an independent mechanic to have the alternator replaced seven times and the battery replaced also as a result of the faulty alternators. The dealer autonation Nissan pembroke pines 8890 pines blvd, pembroke pines, FL 33024 (954) 949-0421 was contacted but the recall repairs done by the previous owner had the recall expire. They would not honor outside work not done by the dealer. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 37,852 tf.
My family and I were driving our vehicle and were at a light. Our vehicle shook very hard when I applied the gas. Car would not go more than 5 miles and hour. We were on our way to the highway when it happened. Took the car home. Had it towed to dealership. They discovered that the transmission fluid had leaked out of the car. We were given three reasons for the problem. Reason 1: "o" ring on hose broke (covered under warranty) reason 2: dealer called back with a second reason. They said acid leaked from the bottom of the battery onto the transmission. (not under warranty) reason 3: when we picked up the car we were told that the battery was leaking from the top because the battery was overcharging itself. We were told that another Murano had experienced the exact same problem (battery leaking acid to transmission). Since it happened to our car and another we questioned the safety not to mention how does a battery overcharge itself. Sounds like something is causing the car to do this. Talked to dealers consumer people. Basically told us that it can't be disputed if car was fixed. Even though dealer confirmed happen to our vehicle and another (one has to wonder if it happened to another). Family and I thought it was important to report if nothing else to help track if this truly is a design issue.
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano I purchased the vehicle new at 3000 miles the engine blew and Nissan repaired it and spent $14,000 to repair. Now I have been contacting Nissan and telling them that my tires are bald in the inside from the engine being taken out because they did not align it right and I have a foul smell of antifreeze in the vehicle and that the engine is knocking again. But instead they tell me that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. I had spoken to someone at Nissan of staten island and he was very nasty and even told me not to bring my car there. I need help what can I do please help me I want to give this car up I don't want the problems.
