They simply told me that there was no recall regarding that issue. They said that my Murano was made after that recall was addressed however, as mentioned, I'am seeing the exact same problem. The vehicle was in a parking lot in motion when it failed.

My back driver side door would not unlock or lock this morning. It was working fine yesterday afternoon. I tried to unlock from the inside and appears that the lock button is not working as it should. I cannot open the door at all from outside or inside. I was driving out of my driveway, when the car stalled and hesitated. I saw the battery light and the brake light come on, so I drove the car slowly down the street in front of my apartment, and parked it there. I later read that this was common on Nissan Muranos, model years 2003 through 2007, and a recall campaign, 05v319000 was started.

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2015

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph, the brake and battery warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. My driver side rear door began malfunctioning when using the remote and button door lock controls. All doors would lock but the driver side rear door would remain unlocked. The same was true when unlocking all doors with remote or buttons. All doors would unlock accept the driver side rear door. The issue has now progressed to other doors in the car with increasing frequency including the rear hatch not opening at all and I have not manual button to flip to allow the hatch to open.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2014

I had a check engine light and an airbag light appear on my dash. While driving on the beltway the abs light came on and my car slowed down and wouldn't tee pond to the gas pedal. After about 2 minutes it kicked back in so I took it to get a diagnostic from a Nissan dealer the next morning. They told me everything was fine according to the computer there were a lot of codes that popped up but they told me they weren't happening anymore. I asked of they checked all of the wires they told me yes. So I took my vehicle and later that night while driving back from lunch break the abs light came on again and the Murano slowed down as before only this time it cut completely off. It only held a jump for about 5 blocks before it cut off again. I had it towed back to the dealer the next morning and they told me they can't check anything unless I purchase a new battery so I bought a new battery and they put it in and told me everything was fine again it just needed a new battery. They told me everything was reading fine but in my opinion that was because it was feeding off the juice of a new battery. About 2 hours after leaving the dealer the same thing happen again with a new battery while I was driving. The abs light came on the car slowed down this time the meters went crazy then it cut off. Only by the grace of god that no one was injured with my car cutting off while I'm driving. I called the dealer and they were not willing to do anything different and they told me my VIN number is not under a recall. I called Nissan consumer affairs after a week of waiting and unreturned calls I finally talked to a regional manager from tennessee by the name of cleo only because I got transferred to him and all he told me was Nissan will not help you out financially. He didn't discuss the issue or offer solutions and showed no concern for safety only money even though I never asked for it.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic with severe front end damages. There was also damage to the brick building. The vehicle was currently being repaired. Prior to the crash the front driver's and passenger's side windows and four power door locks opened independently while parked. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000. Js.

26 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2013

The intelligent key system and the key fob do not unlock the doors consistently. They do not unlock the driver or front passenger doors at all, and from time to time will unlock the rear doors. We have been experiencing this for over a year.

27 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2013

My vehicle caught fire as I proceeded to pull away from a curbside parking space. I turned my wheel to the far left as I proceeded away from the curb and that is when I heard a pop sound, saw white smoke spewing from the front right side of the vehicle, then I saw the flames. Five days prior to the incident, I had front brake pads and resurfaced rotors placed on the vehicle. Within the past 30 days the only other maintenance performed on the vehicle was a standard oil change.

28 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2013

Passenger door, passenger-side rear door, driver-side rear door and trunk door will not unlock while pressing the key fob twice. Manually unlocking the doors by using the keyhole on the outside of the driver door does not solve the above problem. Manually unlocking the doors by using the driver / passenger side unlock button on the armrest does not solve the above problem. Trunk door cannot be opened with any of the above means due to absence of manual lock/unlock lever on the exterior of the door.

29 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2013

First my driver door lock would work and then it wouldn't. Next the same thing happened with the lift gate lock and now it doesn't work at all so I had a repair shop replace the hatch lock and it still doesn't work.

30 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2013

Passenger door does not lock or unlock from the outside. Rear hatch door does not unlock and will not open. I checked online and there are hundreds of complaints about Nissan Murano lock actuators posing problems and not working. Nissan dealerships charge approximately $500 to fix each actuator, which seems extremely unfair considering it appears to be such a common defect. This is not only an unnecessary and preventable problem, but can be an extremely safety hazard.

31 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2013

In mid Jan, 2013 I noticed that after locking with the key fob, the front door remained unlocked, and would not lock from inside the car with either the individual lock control or the whole car lock control. The only way to lock the door is with your key, from the outside. In the event of an accident you do not have the added safety of a locked drivers door. All other doors are operating correctly at this time. The web seems to be filled with other problems like this and I wonder if they realize the danger they face when all doors are not locked in the event of an accident.

32 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

Nissan Murano door actuators have failed on 2 of 4 doors, leaving me unable to enter/exit my vehicle with the remote. In addition, I cannot open the trunk of the vehicle unless the passenger door actuator is working, which it does not. The inside door locks do not move, so I do not know if my car is ever locked or unlocked, again, safety concern. Please investigate this, as I know other owners have complained and Nissan continues to ignore this as an issue!!!.

33 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

The locks on the doors will sporadically lock or unlock and I am afraid my child may get locked in the car one day if keys are left in passenger seat when walking around vehicle to get child. This poses a serious threat to children or anyone in an unsure environment.

34 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2012

2005 Nissan Murano sl with only 58,000 miles on it has the seat defect where it is stuck and won't move forward and back. It appears that the bracket system attachment to the floor has become broken. This is a dangerous manufacture defect that can cause accidents and the car to be unable to drive. The repair for this is quoted at $1,500. Nissan should recall these and fix them on their own cost, not the consumer.

35 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2012

Door lock actuators began to fail in our 2005 Nissan Murano. They stopped responding suddenly and when we thought the car was locked, it was in fact opened, which is a safety issue. It is a very common issue and usually all actuator go out at the same time. We have replaced driver's door actuator (that cost us $400) and now have to deal with other 3. Hopefully Nissan will recognize this as a serious problem and will issue a recall.
