While driving the vehicle will suddenly stop moving, loses acceleration ability & all the dashboard lights turn on. I had work done back in Feb 22 replacing cam shaft sensors. Now Dec 22 the same thing began happening again.
My driver door will not open and I can't figure out how to get it open. I would roll the window up and it sounded like it was snagging on something it would stop with a inch to go and the door would pop open then I roll the all the way down and it snagged on something and door would finally shut. Now it's stuck shut.
I had a transmission put in my Murano but no one can program it I've already spent 2,300. 00 I'm so frustrated my Murano only has 123,000 miles on it now the car want start ,won't show mileage or anything.
Tends to happen when it is warmer weather outside - all four door locks will not operate correctly (unlock or lock) with keyfob. Life gate will also not unlock or lock correctly unless passenger side doors are unlocked. Safety concern. Has been happening for a couple years now but just found out about this website.
The Cadillac converters are junk and you guys oughta be ashamed of yourself for not recall and I'm on all the ones that they've all had problems with because there's been several and it's not a cheap fix just had one fix now the other 2 went out and I haven't even had the vehicle 30 days.
2005 Murano purchased 6 yrs ago has 67,000 mi on it. Have never had a problem previously but has started burning oil. Have kept up on regular maintenance but was lax this time. Car went 5,000 mi before having a problem with smoke from exhaust and pinging noise. Took to mechanic and was told that the oil was 3 1/2 qts low. My mechanic thinks I might need to rebuild the engine or buy new. He will check it in a week to see if it's still burning oil. He changed the oil and wants to monitor it before we make the decision to do additional work. I never had any indication that it was low on oil. My fault for not checking it but would think I would have gotten an indicator light. Anyone else burning thru oil like this?.
I was driving down the city road and it just felt like the car shut off and no longer got gas almost like an alternator would do I could put it in park and there would still be power you could hear the engine again I would put it back in drive or even tried a low gear no gears was making my car move but it would make sound in parkthe battery light and brake light then came on and my car died shortly after completely already workwhile studying your recalls I noticed the make and model of my car had certain recalls with the alternator of faulty wire in it when I try to report this they told me it was the wrong batch but it's funny my car is doing the same thing do to my car doing this you can no longer move your vehicle so it is dangerous it stops you right in the middle of the road you cannot gas it to go your website mentions a failsafe mode that it may have fell into.
I was at a traffic light waiting for it to turn green. When I stepped on the gas, I realized that it had turned off. Tried to re-start. Flashed dash signs and then nothing not even a click. I was on a very busy street at night in the rain. My hazard button lasted for 5 minutes and then it went out. I thought my car was going to be hit. A man across the street pulled me out of harms way. With the police directing traffic, my son and several people that stopped, helped to push the car to safety. My car was able to be jumped and driven home. I will not drive it until I know what is wrong with it. L am the original owner and it has 98,000 miles on it. It looks like the 2005 has a recall on the alternator, but I never got that done. I still have not had it looked at. Looking at the complaint a lot of people have several alternators replaced and the problem is still not fixed. Does anyone know why the vehicle would turn off with no warning? .
Sun visor on driver side continuously falls down while driving.
Drivers side seat is loose and started to dip towards the left. The seat is broken. I looked online and can see this is a recurring problem. Also the panel where you can push to lock awd or put on the seat warmers has sunk into the panel.
I bought my 05 Murano from the dealership for $6000 and I only drove it for 3 months before the alternator and the transmission went. I paid $600 for the alternator to be repaired and 2 weeks later the transmission went. The dealership said that it would cost me $4200 to fix the transmission. They refused to give me any sort of discount. I got 3 months out of a $6000+ dollar car. I am so upset this has caused so many problems in my life in so many ways. I can't believe Nissan is morally ok with ripping me off like this.
My intake air duct comes off, causing stalling, bad gas mileage, running bad & throwing maff codes. . . This problem begin happening around early November 2016 & happens often. I'm trying to avoid a crash, this is heart renching.
On my 2005 Nissan Murano all doors, including gas door, except drivers door will periodically fail to lock or unlock using the door lock button on drivers door or key fob. The problem appears to be linked to the ambient temperature, most likely to occur on hot days. The sounds you hear are the same just sometimes the lock button just wiggles slightly, rather than moving enough to lock or unlock the doors. This problem occurs at any time, regardless of vehicle movement. I find it odd for all lock actuators too fail at the same time, then start working again at the same time. The dealer wants 1600-2000 dollars to replace all lock actuators.
Rear hatch door does not unlock. I took them car to the selling agency and was charged approximately 500 dollars to repair the lock. It worked for approximately 3 months and the problem arose again. They agency stated that they had to charge me an additional 120 dollars just to check out their problem. I didn't pursue the fix because I thought they inspection fee was unwarranted. They situation remains.
I have been unable to unlock my right side doors and trunk for quite some time. Took it into the Nissan dealership and they advised me that it is due to the door lock actuators. They quoted me a ridiculous amount of $1500 to fix. I looked online and found that I am not the only one with this problem and also signed a petition to have Nissan issue a recall.
Drivers side sun visor does not stay up or in place when down. Falls down while driving and obstructs the view of the road. It also can't be used to block the suns glare because it doesn't stay at the adjusted angle.
My concerns are there any recalls including safety on my 2005 Murano the vehicles check engine light, week later at various times while in park and running the car will shut off the air bag warning icon, at various times the vehicle would slow while driving and not respond to gas pedal also the abs warning light appeared at times the windows roll down on thier own while vechile is off I have not taken the vehicle for repairs.
The heat does not come on, even after the engine temperature has reached full operational temperature.
N/a.
Nissan Murano door actuators have failed on 2 of 4 doors, leaving me unable to enter/exit my vehicle with the remote. In addition, I cannot open the trunk of the vehicle unless the passenger door actuator is working, which it does not. The inside door locks do not move, so I do not know if my car is ever locked or unlocked, again, safety concern. Please investigate this, as I know other owners have complained and Nissan continues to ignore this as an issue!!!.
Original owner, purchased new in 2005. The driver side visor will not stay in up position and must be held in place by other means . (I am currently using a bungee cord that is attached to the visor clip and ran accross to the drivers side roof handle above window to hold the visor up so that I have adequate visibility through the front windshield). When attempting to reposition the visor in the up and lock position I heard a popping sound. After that, the visor has failed to stay locked in the up and flat postion, keeping it flush against the interior roof. If not using another means to keep the visor up, it will reamin in the down position and blocks drivers view. Does not have the flexibility to remain at an angle to block sun, only hangs straight down.
All passenger doors do not lock/unlock either using the fob or the driver power lock controller, the hatch is now locking intermittently. This is a huge safety/security issue especially now that the hatch is having problems. This issue started in 2011 in which I had the drivers door fixed, then starting in 2012 the passenger doors started having issues, now in 2013 the remaining passenger door and hatchback!! there is obviously a problem which must be addressed!.
All of my locks no longer work. I have seen countless complaints about this very issue and nothing is getting done about it. I thought Nissan was suppose to be one of the best out there. I'll never buy another Nissan again if they continue not to assist their customers. I also have the air intake issue, thankfully that was recalled and will be fixed. I had to replace the front struts, oil cooler gasket, front sway bar links and the battery has been changed 3 times now. Very disappointed with Nissan and so embarrassed to even talk about the issues with this car. :(.
The front drivers door failed. . More specifically, when the lock system is activated electronically, the doors typically fail to completely lock or unlock completely. Visually, the inside lock 'button' only moves partway. There is reason to believe this affects many owners of Nissan and infinity vehicles. Some suspect actuator problems and others suspect relay problems. There is an investigation into a class action law suit and there's petitions. The manufacturer doesn't want to claim responsibility and this problem is affecting thousands of owners. This problem has safety implication and can create potentially life threatening situations. I advice that this problem be taken seriously and make the manufacturers accountable for these defects. Thank you.
I have avoided one accident and had a few close calls when my drivers side visor dropped in front of me while driving. This is a serious safety concern and needs to be addressed immediately. It occurred while driving on highway us19 in pinellas county florida. My attention was diverted by the visor falling that I almost rear ended the vehicle in front of me.
The sun visor on the driver's side will not stay in the upward or "not in use" position. I can be driving and it will fall down blocking my vision while driving. In the beginning I thought it was only my car but after researching and talking with dealership it is a common malfunction. Dealership said they are aware but the problem cannot be fixed by recall because Nissan has not given them the "okay. " in order to fix problem a new visor would need to be installed with visor part alone costing $200+. I currently have to pull over the extension visor on the passenger side to hold up the driver's side sun visor, and the driver's side visor will still fall down at random times blocking my vision and at times at very crucial moments. I feel this is a major safety hazard and a defect product installed by Nissan. In the beginning I tried to get Nissan to fix but to no avail. I would have filed a complaint before now but was not aware of your website, which I believe Nissan dealerships should have filed with Nissan, and may have but nothing has been done about this safety hazard. I hope your company can help get this recalled before someone driving a Murano with this defect gets injured or causes injury to other motorist.
