general problems of the 2006 Nissan Murano

I was driving from a funeral on Saturday July, 30th. 2022. The car has been fine, & shown no leading hints of error. I did have a spare tire on in which it had no problems either. After the funeral I was notified my tire was ready, so I headed over to get it changed. After about 10/15 mins of driving (taking my daughter to work) the car started to pull, & make a screeching/loud noise. At first I thought maybe it was the brake pads, or tire rubbing. After calling my dad (a mechanic), & talking with others. Searching online as well. It was said to be the transmission. Few moments went by then it was the transfer case, axel, then finally an electrical issue. My all wheel drive light constantly flashes. I have no control over the off/on module. Anything over 5mph it’s does the noise, & tries to pull the car to the left. It gets louder, & more strong as I accelerate. I’ve never had problems out of this car, nor has it acted this way or anything close. It was all like a random happening. Now I feel I’m at a loss as no one knows the actual problem. As my fiancé & I both work. We have no other transportation, & have no way of getting a new car at the moment.

My car horn recently stopped working when depressing the areas on the steering column with the horn icon. I almost got into multiple accidents, first when driving on the interstate and could not honk on aggressive drivers who sharply pulled in front of me when driving; and later when trying to park in a parking lot and another driver reversed into me because he could not see me and I could not honk to signal him that I was in his blindspot. I checked with my mechanic of 23 years and he found that there was no issue with the fuse or the horn itself - the horn activates when manually triggered. However, there is a problem with the relay from the steering column to the horn and with this Nissan model, that relay is integrated with the air bag in the steering column. It's possible that there's also an issue with the airbag but it's never had reason to deploy. Lodging this incident because the horn is a central part of any car safety system and there seems to be a manufacturer defect in the relay that is integrated into the steering column to trigger the horn.

The fuel sending unit have a problem and my gas gauge is not work right and passage side door lock don't work right when lock the with the remote are door switch and when I start the vehicle up it take a long time to start up in the winter morning or when I turn the vehicle off it don't start back upright away.

While driving my kids to school this morning, I lost all acceleration in the middle of a busy road unable to move, drive anything. I turned the car on and off to try to move the car from the middle of the road, I could only reverse. When in drive I its as if it were in neutral. The battery, brake light and check engine light all came on at once. They were not on prior to this happening. Clearly this is some sort of malfunction with in Nissan. I read multiple people having the same issues as me and I plan to make this known. If I had been on the highway when this happened with my kids in the car we would all be dead this is a serious issues and it needs to be addressed clearly there is some sort of and issues where Nissan has a recall or something.

Took vehicle in for repairs for oil leaks, lights, trunk release, vehicle running like a truck, a/c, radio,transmission and camera display in car. Was told trunk release , motor, and transmission problems, and lighting couldn't be duplicated. The same day I picked up my vehicle turn vehicle off close the drivers door and head and rear lights shut off, close my trunk and again head and rear lights went off. Took vehicle to another dealer and showed the service advisor my concerns informed me a dianogstic test would cost $270 if couldn't find anything wrong, and I couldn't be take home because it was over 10 miles, and advisor suggested taking car closer to where I lived. Showed him and told him my concerns: foot pedal switch works sometimes, seat operates sometime, the smell from exhaust has a very bad smell, a/c works sometime while driving and doesn't blow cold at all while idol, and sun visor keep falling down lower causing you to not see. .

Drivers window stopped working ,will not go up and down. I had a repair shop look at it they stated the switch was fried as well as the motor. It was smoking and could have caused a fire. Have you ever had a complaint like mine? #2 the display screen is stuck on tire rotation,and my navigation system is not working. Fuel gauge is erratic. Can't have it repaired due to costs.

Exhaust manifold is cracked. Exhaust gases leak in through vent when ac is on and air is coming from outside. Extreme health hazard! up to two engine mounts are broken. Oil leaks from boot. Drivers seat bracket is broken. Electrical on the drivers seat fried.

Faulty fuel gauge, fuel float or fuel monitoring system. I filled up the car and the gauge reads empty. It will erratically show different fuel levels ranging anywhere from empty to half-full to full. This is a safety issue because it is impossible to know how much fuel is left. After doing a brief internet search I discovered that their are multiple entries for this issue from other Nissan owners.

My power steering pump has malfunctioned and the hose has a hole in it. The leak has cause a belt to pop while I was driving. I did not know what happened until the truck battery killed over and a mechanic helped me while the vehicle disabled. I also know of three other Nissan Murano owners who have had the same problem. Two of them have paid a large amout to fix this problem and the other traded in the vehicle because of the problem. This is a defect with Murano and I googled this issue and noticed that this is a common problem with this vehicle.

Liftgate lock/unlock mechanism will not engage with remote or from outside button. Only way to unlock is to jump into car and manually unlock it from inside (after removing panel for lock mechanism).
