Bought the car, used in 2009. For at least two years chargers in car did not work. Within last six months fuel gauge became inaccurate. There was another incident where the car just stopped, will look for details. But 9/24/13 driving up a hill, car came out of gear and stopped working. The part that was ultimately replaced was the instrument panel-part number 24820-cc20a. Apparently, panel was not communicating with transmission properly. Dealer charged us $1150 to replace. Neither service manager or service coordinator has seen one which needed to be replaced. Nissan accepts no responsibility. Yes, internet full of comments about issues with transmission and instrument panel. These failures appear to be the result of faulty soldering or welding of connections.
Fuel gauge started to failed and check engine light turned on. Failed the state inspection due to emissions. I took the vehicle to the dealer and quoted for replace the two failing fuel sending units $99 to inspect + $700 part & labor. Of course is not covered by Nissan. How many other brands beside Nissan have you seen with this problem? I am simply appalled by the lack of concern from Nissan. After reading complaints about seat collapsing, wheel bearing going out, visors falling blocking the view of the driver, steering hoses braking causing fire, in vehicles with low mileage I cannot believe Nissan does not identify this as a safety issues and allows the consumer to pay for these faulty components. The fact that Nissan does not stand up behind their products is an insult to everyone who bought this product. Nissan offers no assistance despite the clear premature failure of the components. This is my first and last Nissan vehicle. Writing letter to the ceo, vice president total customer satisfaction, vice president manufacturing quality and parts & service Nissan north America, inc.
My 2006 Nissan Murano fuel gauge is giving inaccurate reading. When fuel is full it shows half, when empty it shows something else. . . . It just jumps from one to another.
Tl - the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the vehicle gas gauge was defective. He mentioned that it was not providing the correct fuel level. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offered any assistance since the vehicle was not included on any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 64,000 and the current mileage was 67,000. Pm.
Gas gauge and electronic gas display are not in sync. Fluctuating between full and empty. Check engine light constantly on since this occurred.
