The driver's-side front headlight assembly (a sealed led unit) failed. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. It started with moisture intrusion; I took it to the dealer. They said I had to replace it out of pocket. I explained this was an apparent manufacturer failure. Since I got the car back, it flickered until it went out, and the dashboard displays a headlight failure error. The failed headlight significantly reduces forward visibility at night and my vehicle's visibility to other drivers. This creates a hazard on unlit roads and in poor weather, increasing the risk of a collision. I currently do not feel safe driving it at night, and we are in the rainy season in south florida. Yes. A Nissan dealer inspected the vehicle, confirmed the headlight assembly failure, and quoted approximately $1,900 for parts alone. They could not provide a labor quote to replace it. The issue is a sealed led headlight assembly, not a replaceable bulb. A sealed unit designed to last the life of the vehicle that fails due to moisture intrusion points to a housing-seal defect, not normal wear or a maintenance item. I do not believe I should pay out of pocket for that. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs. I was informed the vehicle has just over 27,000 miles but the original in-service date of 6/30/2023, placing it only about five weeks past the basic warranty's time limit and roughly 9,000 miles under the mileage cap. The failure has been reported to Nissan consumer affairs, which has opened a case for review. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance. Yes. A headlight system warning message appeared on the dashboard as of 7/31/2026, and I have informed Nissan consumer affairs.
