Catalytic Convertor Problems of Nissan Nissan Truck

Nissan Nissan Truck owners have reported 2 problems related to catalytic convertor (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Catalytic Convertor problem of the 2002 Nissan Nissan Truck

Failure Date: 01/01/2007

My vehicle is a 2002 Nissan pathfinder. It only has about 55,000 miles. For a long time, I've heard kinda abnormal noise. Come to find out that the exhaust pipes on the left and right catalytic converters are cracked right down the middle. One side costs over $450 from dealer. I feel this is a defect and many pathfinder owners are reporting this problem. Dealer does not want to warranty.

2 Catalytic Convertor problem of the 1997 Nissan Nissan Truck

Failure Date: 10/16/1999

Multiple sensors that control the fuel injection and emission control systems have failed prematurely. The air charge temp sensor, bpt valve, egr valve, catalitic converter, and throttle position sensor have failed. All of the parts except the converted have been replaced - the dealer refuses to replace it, claiming it is ok. A different Nissan dealer I had to stop at while on a trip told me it is not ok, that it is plugging up. Response from regal Nissan dealer has been "too bad, it's out of warranty".
