On 9/25/25 I was driving through a green light in baltimore MD. The streets were grand view and w cold spring lane . A driver ran the red light from my left side and hit me so hard he totaled my 2014 Nv200 cab edition. The air bag did not deploy , instead it shot out steering like like missle and hit me in face causing a concussion that led to overnight hospitalization to get cat scan and mri. . The airbag also cause a permanent burn on right knuckle and lacerations, and damage to my neck from whip lash reacting to being hit unexpectedly by first car then air bag projectile. The air bag hitting me face caused more damage to my body than actual accident which caused severe lower back pain and injuries to my hand and left lingering nerve pain to left and ride side of body. The impact was so hard my nose also bled the next day and I had migraines and blurry vision for next week. I could not work for next 5 days on doctor note because of concussion. I lost income I have medical bills and I lost my van I use for my delivery business which generated 2,000 a month income. The air bag deployment malfunction was recalled in this exact model in 2016 by takata air bag contracted with Nissan at time. I bought van in March 2024 from checker cab company in long island new york. I was not aware of any recalls being done and was not informed or given paperwork about potential dangerous air bag. There was no warning lights on regarding air bags deficiencies. The vehicle was inspected by opposing party insurance. Farmers insurance and deemed totaled. The passenger side airbag deployed when I shut the door. My son was sitting in the seat. This incident could have been very harmful to my son. We had just had the airbag sensor repaired after waiting 6 months for it to arrive on back order. It was also replaced in 2021 under warranty, and in 2017 under a recall. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection.

The airbag light is flashing and I have had it checked with a dealer-level scan tool, but it has no codes. I have deduced that there is an issue with one of the weight sensors under the passenger seat and it is not sending a signal. I have confirmed this by noting that the airbag off light is luminated when I am sitting in the seat or driving with an adult passenger, so basically it is not sensing that the seat is occupied and therefore the passenger airbag would not go off in a crash even though the seat is occupied. Is that something that a warranty or a recall should cover, since it is a safety concern involving the airbag system?.

The red dash airbag light began flashing continuously approximately 4 months ago. I took it to a neighborhood automobile repair shop where the problem was diagnosed. They explained that only a Nissan dealership could make the repair. I took the car to reliable Nissan in albuquerque, nm on October 1, 2024. I was told the parts (98856-9se0a controller assy-occupant sensor, and 98853-3jaca sen-occupant) would need to be ordered with a dealer-provided eta of October 17, 2024. I paid $752. 77 for the parts ordered on October 1, 2024. I was called back to the dealership for the repairs and was told the wrong parts were shipped and that I would have to come back when the correct parts arrived. They had no eta for the correct parts arrival. I have reached out to the dealership and the Nissan national consumer affairs department. I have had six interactions with the national consumer affairs department. Each time I'm told there is no eta for the osa sensor. I believe this is a safety concern. In one conversation with the consumer affairs dept. I was told there is not enough demand currently to actually manufacture the part. I would think that customer safety would constitute adequate demand. I also worry that the cost to manufacture the part will increase by the time it is actually manufactured. I will still need to pay approximately $750. 00 for labor to install the parts when they are finally manufactured and delivered. Assistance with encouraging manufacture of this part is requested.

We have a fleet of eighteen Nv200s. The one that was listed was just repaired on 11/20/23. It had issues with the occupant air bag system. The issues with the air bag system are happening in other Nv200s that we own. I believe there is a defect in these vans that could lead to them not operate as designed, causing injury or death. The other air bag issues we have had in the Nv200s, not including the one in this report, happened on 5/18/23, 5/19/23, 9/28/23, and in 10/20/21. I have the invoices for all repairs of each of these vans if needed.

We own a Nissan nv 200 that was getting an air bag error light on the dashboard. We took it to a local Nissan dealership in dayton NJ who said the airbag sensor under the passenger front seat was damaged and the seat will get stuck because since it came loose from it support it looks like it got stuck int he seats track. Nissan is saying the driver did this but it is protected by a drawer and two other sensor which are under the seat and would have also been damaged if this were the case. This is clearly a safety issue as now none of the airbags work and the driver can not safely drive the vehicle.

Our company has a 2018 nv 200, a commercial vehicle with 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper commercial Nissan warranty. There are about 58,000 miles on the truck. On January, 26, 2021 while driving on a small residential road at 5 miles an hour, the passenger side curtain deployed. The truck did not hit anything at all. Our technician said it sounded like a gun went off. He couldn't see anything. Had this happened on the highway, he certainly would've been in an accident, possibly fatal. I have been trying to work with Nissan to have them simply give us a loaner truck for the eight weeks that will be required in order to do a thorough investigation. I'm not trying to cause them trouble but they told me I am responsible for the cost of any loaner truck!!!!!!!. This is the worst handling of a highly explosive situation (no pun intended) that I can imagine. They also said it's up to their discretion to decide if I would get reimbursed. No person could have less skills given the severity of this incident. I asked for just two things: a loaner truck and commitment to make sure that any defects be not hidden from the public. Disgraceful. Who is safe in their vehicles????? here's the worst part. When I told them I demanded a loaner vehicle, they said the case was closed!!!!!, mr/mrs dakota called the dealer and told them the case was closed and settled. They want to bury it. Someone could have been killed.

2015 Nissan Nv200 sv 78,000 miles. Driver had moved vehicle into garage, parked vehicle with a slight angle to the steering. Driver could not remember if vehicle was running or key in ignition in 'on' position. Weather stripping on driver's door was loose and preventing door from latching correctly so that more force than usual was required to close and latch door. Door was closed with vigor and this caused airbag to deploy. Commercial vehicle with components installed that could freeze. Nissan was not interested in inspecting the vehicle within a timely manner so vehicle was towed to body shop for inspection by independent 3rd party and get repairs done. My passenger airbag light has been on ever since I've owned this vehicle starting January of 2019. I see there has been an open recall on this since may of 2016, which means it hasn't been solved in over 5 years. I feel less comfortable about driving my partner around in my van knowing her airbag may not go off in the event of an accident.
