Defogger problem #1

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated she was driving at 50 mph when the heater and defroster failed. The windows had to remain open in order to keep the windows from fogging. In addition, the contact stated the vehicle would exhibit an unusual increase in engine rpms intermittently. The vehicle was inspected by a local mechanic who advised that radiator fluid leaked into the inner cooling system and into the transmission, causing the heater failure. The mechanic performed a transmission flush and replaced the transmission filter and radiator. Within five months, the transmission failed. Additionally, the fuel level gauge would sporadically read inaccurate fuel levels, causing her to run out of fuel twice without warning. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline: storage: auxillary tank) but was unable to confirm if her vehicle was included with the recall. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure and current mileages were approximately 118,000.

Visibility problem #2

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated the fuel gauge failed. In addition, the driver side mirror failed while the contact attempted to adjust the mirror. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the failures. The dealer replaced the fuel gauge sensor. The contact stated that most recently, the transmission would exhibit failures and was slow to respond to acceleration attempts when in reverse. The manufacturer was contacted and they advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. The driver side mirror and the transmission were not repaired. The failure mileage was 36,500 and the current mileage was 92,000. Kmj.

Wiper problem #3

Driving down interstate 95 and a truck sent bud in the air, went to clean windshield and ran out of cleaner. Just had vehicle serviced. Windshield wiper fluid was filled that morning at jiffylube. Windshield fluid light came on. Stopped and manually cleaned windshield. Noticed that windshield fluid tank was empty and refilled. Fluid was leaking out. Returned home and removed fender shield to look at tank. Fluid leaking out of bottom of tank seal. To this day we still operate without fluid due to cost to repair. This only happened when the weather is very warm as it is most of the year in savannah.
