5 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2012

The fuel gauge stopped working over a year and a half ago. When we contacted the dealer they never told us about the extended warranty. They quoted a price that we, a military family could not afford, and that was it. Then last year, a shuddering began. We took it to the dealer and spent almost $800. They flushed the transmission, but the shuddering only got worse. When I took the car in they informed me that the radiator fluid leaked into the transmission and now both need to be replaced. I called Nissan and they basically said that its my problem!! I have been in tears since. My husband is in afghanistan fighting for his country. He worked hard and paid the car off 2 months ago and now this. He is so worried about us being stranded when his focus should be on what's happening there. We don't have $8000 to spend on a car that we just paid off and that should be in top form.

7 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2012

(2007 Pathfinder) the fuel sending unit failed and the fuel gauge led me to believe I had gas when in fact I was empty. I ran out of gas in a busy intersection and I was almost hit by a large dump truck. My 5 year old and my 4 month old were in the 2007 Pathfinder. Would if the dump truck driver was not paying attention, me and my children would definitely be dead.

8 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was 83,000. The current mileage was 85,000. The VIN was not available.

11 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2010

I own a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with a faulty fuel gauge. There is a recall, but my vehicle is not covered due to the limited production range of the recall. I feel Nissan should honor the recall on all vehicles with this problem as it's clear they have a problem with their fuel gauge. My only option is to spend over $400 out of pocket and maybe they will have a secondary recall that will refund my money. This is not acceptable and this is a safety issue as running out of gas puts not only the persons in the vehicle at risk but other drivers as well depending on where the vehicle runs out of gas.

12 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2010

I have a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder that is only at 33,700 miles. On 2/6 I have my car serviced. On 2/19 my check engine soon light illuminated. I took it to the dealer this morning 2/20 and they told me it was the fuel sensor. They also said it wasn't under warranty (not true). After getting a quote of $600, I did research and upon reading forums have come to the realization Nissan will not recall/fix this problem in their vehicles. It is a safety hazard due to the fuel gauge not working properly and the possibility of running out of gas, whether it be on the highway or city streets.

13 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would provide inaccurate fuel level readings. The contact stated that he would add gasoline to the vehicle but the fuel gauge would read empty. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that fuel level sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 135,000.

14 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the gas gauge was incorrect. When she filled it with gas, it would display the tank being empty and vice versa. She called the dealership and was told that the fuel level sensor was defective. At times, the gas gauge would display the correct amount of gas. The issue was noticed every time she drove the vehicle. She contacted the manufacturer who told her that she was outside the warranty and that they could not assist her. The vehicle had not been repaired to-date. The current mileage was approximately 60,000. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
