Failure Date: 03/01/2012

Fuel level gauge shows incorrect readings. One moment it will show full, then empty, then quarter tank when it is actually nearing empty. The 2006 & 2008 models were recalled, not sure why the 2007 was not recalled also.

The current and the failure mileages were 95,500.

5 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2010

Fuel sending unit bad trouble code 0463. Filled gas tank at 1/4 to full. Started car gauge read a little above 1/4 tank of gas. Gauge went up slowly to about 1/2 then suddenly dropped to 0(empty).

6 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. After filling the fuel tank, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge would not register a correct reading of fuel in the tank. Seconds later, the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The current and failure mileages were approximately 20,000.

7 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2010

The fuel gauge stopped working a while ago, and the service engine light came on and stayed on. The gauge would show 1/4 tank fuel after filling the tank up, then work normal, then drop to empty, even though the tank was at least 1/2 full. I would keep track of how many miles I drove and fill up the tank every 300 miles. That's how I knew it was time to get gas again. . . Today I found out that problem is not only a nuisance for me, but it is also connected to our state emission inspection. When I had the inspection done today, id did not pass the "on-board diagnostic (obdii) test, which is one of the state requirements. Resulting failure code for the obdii test was p0463-fuel level sensor "a" circuit high. My understanding is this very same/similar defect affected many of 2006 and 2008 Pathfinders, and resulted in a recall of those vehicles. Based on the many complains on this site, it is evident it affects many 2007 Pathfinders as well. Since it does affect emission requirements, please further investigate so the problem can be fixed.

8 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 07/27/2010

The contact owns 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that after he refueled the vehicle, the fuel level indicator displayed that the fuel tank was only one fourth full. The service engine soon warning light was also illuminated and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The contact was advised that the fuel sensor would need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and he was informed his vehicle was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline: storage: auxillary tank). The failure continued to recur intermittently. The failure mileage was 60,100 and the current mileage was 60,500.

9 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2010

My 2007 Nissan Pathfinder le was purchased brand new from the local Nissan dealership here in little rock, ar. The vehicle currently has 49,000 miles on it. Recently, I've noticed that my fuel gauge is not reading accurately. One time, the gauge indicated that I had some fuel remaining in the tank, yet I ran out of gas and had to call for assistance. More noticeably, I will fill my tank up completely to where it won't accept gasoline. Then, I'll start my engine and the gauge will read 1/4 of tank full instead of full. More recently, the service engine soon light has lit up on my dashboard and stays on constantly. I've been online reading about the prevalence of this exact same situation under practically the exact same conditions. I called the dealer, who said it was not under warranty (because of mileage) or recall. Repairing the matter will in the neighborhood of $500-600. I also called Nissan customer service directly, who confirmed that it was not under recall (though it clearly should be). They suggested that I take it to the dealer for diagnosis (at my expense) and to call them back because they might then look at the matter to determine if any action is necessary on their part. Either way - I front the $$$ for the repair. All I can say is that it's amazing that so many people are experiencing this same problem and that recalls have been done for other Nissan vehicles with similar problems, yet nothing has been done in this case. Why is my government not at work for me on this one? is there not potentially a safety issue involved with me and my children driving home in the evening/at dark with the assumption of gas in our Pathfinder tank to get us there and being stranded otherwise???? this is my very first and certainly my last Nissan - period.

10 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2010

I have a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder that we have kept in excellent condition and have had no complaints up until now. I filled up my car at the gas station and put in $70 and when I started the car the engine light came on and my gas gauge reading was a quarter tank! I used google and found it that this is a very common complaint. The price to fix this is approximately $450 at the dealer! if it's a common problem and there have been recalls in earlier models, it should be covered by Nissan! not having a fuel gauge work properly is a safety issue. Keeping a log book of miles is not an option!.

11 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2010

Fuel level sending unit of Nissan Pathfinder stops working shortly after 25k miles and the gauge starts showing that the tank is suddenly empty leading to run out of fuel and stuck on the road which is very dangerous, especially for moms like me with children in the vehicle.

12 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2010

2007 Nissan Pathfinder se - fuel gauge not registering full tank, service light on, fuel sending unit malfunctioning causing to stall while driving on highway.

13 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

2007 Nissan Pathfinder's gas gauge does not accurately register gas tank level. It shows empty when not empty and vice versa. The reading will go from an 1/2 full to empty in a blink of an eye. . It is extremely difficult to know how much gas is in the car. The service engine light stays on constantly. The dealer's service dept is charging $500 to fix the gas gauge. I believe it is a manufacturing defect and should be covered by Nissan.

14 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2010

I bought a used 2007 Nissan Pathfinder in April 2010. Every single time I fill up the tank, since the very first time, immediately after getting the gas, the gas gauge reads as empty. Two to three days later it goes back to normal. The service engine soon light is constantly on. Nissan dealer says it's the sending unit and is $700 to fix. I haven't done it yet. I have seen many many similar complaints online. Some 2006 and 2008 Nissans have been recalled for bad sending units. Time to include 2007's! it sometimes helps to know how much gas you have in your car!.

15 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that when the gas tank was full, the gauge displayed empty. The fuel gauge worked normally intermittently whenever there was a quarter tank of gasoline in the vehicle. The dealer inspected the vehicle and said that it was the dte sensor that failed. The contact was not sure about the definition of dte, but it deals with the mileage and fuel tank reading. The failure mileage was 50000 and the current mileage was 60000.

16 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2010

I filled my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder up with gas. When I started driving home, I noticed to service engine soon light was on. It has remained on for a week continuously. The fuel gauge started going crazy during this time. One minute it shows a full tank and the next it shows empty and the next a half a tank to three quarters a tank. Today, I filled up the truck and it shows a half tank. Also, during this time the dte started out fluctuating and now just shows --- all the time.

17 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2010

My 2007 Nissan Pathfinder's gas gauge started malfunctioning in February 2010. I actually was told I had 1/2 tank but realized it was empty when I ran out of gas with my two kids on the highway. I called Nissan USA and they told me it had been recalled for certain years and months the car was made but my month wasn't covered. I cannot fork over 500 dollars to fix the gauge but I never know how much gas I have so obviously that is not safe.

18 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2010

The last 3 times that I've filled my gas tank, the gauge says empty and the light indicating low fuel comes on. The dte (distance until empty) indicator shows -------indicating zero miles left until I run out of gas. The check engine light also comes on. About 2 days later my fuel gauge will start to register correctly and then on the 3rd day, my check engine light will go off. I called sutherlin Nissan in ft myers which is where I bought my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder brand new and I spoke with nicole in the service department who told me that my SUV was not part of the recall and in order for them to determine what the problem is, I would have to come in for a diagnostic check and I would be responsible for the check and the repairs.

19 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The fuel gauge failed when the vehicle was at 38,000 miles. The gauge read empty at all times the checked engine light remained illuminated. The contact had to reset the gauge chip each time the gas tank was filled; therefore he was able to estimate when the fuel was at half tank. The manufacturer advised his VIN wasn't included recall 10v074000 fuel system, other: storage: fuel gauge system, but he should take the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact will service the vehicle himself. The failure mileage was 38,000 and the current mileage was 42,000. Li.

20 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2009

Faulty fuel gauge sensor, 2007 Nissan Pathfinder . It was thanksgiving day, I was returning home when my son I stopped to fill up. My son was driving and shortly after take off he indicated the gauge wasn't working, the distance to empty numbers weren't up and the "service engine soon" light was on. We got off at the next exit and I thought he must have not been paying attention and no gas was pumped. I tried to fill up only to get about . 50 cents in the tank. I drove home and notice the distance numbers read backward until the needle was on full and it read correctly. I drove the vehicle a couple of days then the light went off. After driving for another few days the light came back on. I took it to autozone for them to test it. They read me the things it could be. I then called Nissan in gonzales and they told me that sound about right and it would cost me around $500 plus tax. I didn't have the $$ at the time therefore I had to continued to drive the vehicle with the engine light still on, and try and monitor my mileage and estimate how long I had before empty. Times I would fill up and needle would drop to empty and gas light would be on and over a course of 2 or 3 days, it eventually went off, at times it would still show full, and it would give me the distance to empty until about half way then I just had the dots. This was always somewhere around 180-200 miles remaining. I've been driving around a little over 3 months with the faulty sensor. Can I tell you my nerves were bad, because I didn't want to be on the road at night, or anytime and run out of gas. I finally took my car in for a diagnostic and they told me this is for sure what I needed. I just got my car repaired on Monday, March 1, 2010. You better believe I have my receipt.

21 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would read inaccurate fuel levels and would display that the fuel tank was full when there was no fuel in the vehicle. The dealer stated that the fuel sensor failed and would nee to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 56,000.

22 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2009

2007 Nissan Pathfinder fuel sensor is not working; gauge reads empty even though tank is full. Obd code is p0463. Three of my friends with Pathfinders have the same problem!.

23 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2009

My 2007 Nissan Pathfinder has an erratic, inaccurate and basically inoperative fuel gauge. The gauge drops to e as soon as a the tank goes to 3/4 to 1/2. Nissan is aware of the problem (ntb07-06b) but refuses to fix at their expense. Their dealerships are charging $500 + in parts and labor to fix this potentially dangerous situation. We ran out of fuel on the expressway, and had to wait for almost an hour on the left side of I-75 until georgia hero brought us some fuel. Please help.

24 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would not display accurate fuel levels. When the fuel tank was full, the gauge would display the fuel tank as empty and vice versa. The dealer inspected the vehicle and advised the contact that the fuel sensor had failed. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 60,000.

25 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2009

Filled gas tank completely. Fuel gauge did not indicate a full tank. The dte display had dashes across it when it should have shown 323 miles to the tank drove for approximately one mile. Fuel gauge indicator went haywire and service engine soon light came on. Fuel gauge now show that the gas tank is empty and will not move. Service engine light is still on.

26 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

I own a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder se which currently has just over 37,000 miles on it. After filling the gas tank the fuel gauge remains on empty and the service engine soon light remains on for three to four days before the problem resets itself. After another fill up the same symptoms re-occur. This has been happening for about a month now and the dealer tells me that it is not covered under the warranty. Potential for danger exists in that the car may be out of fuel while I am driving which may cause stalling and lead to an accident. Thanks for your service.

27 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2009

Filled gas tank the gauge stayed at 1/4 full. The next day gauge did not work and service light was on.
