Rear subframe rusted through and unable to be repaired. Contacted Nissan and would not assist even though some VIN # of the same year were recalled and replaced. Having a hard time finding a replacement even with a family friend who is a service advisor looking. Vehicle has not been in an accident that would cause this type of fracture in the frame. Unable to drive the vehicle for obvious safety reasons.
Rear subframe on the passenger side cracked because of excessive rust making it dangerous to drive so it's now stuck at the repair shop. Repair shop said this is not expected for a vehicle with this mileage and the other sides of the subframe are far from being in the same condition as this one.
When getting a new set of tires found out that drivers side rear subframe assembly rusted away where the control arm attaches after looking at a Nissan fourn there are many with the same problem worried that due to this might be a issue for me and my children traveling to he roads.
Took my 2013 Pathfinder to steve shannon tires and auto center to fix (what I thought was the issue) a wheel bearing. They called me later in the day informing me they could not replace the wheel bearing because my rear sub frame is rotted.
Rust only on brackets that hold the arm on the rear sway arm stabilizer.
Rear subframe rotted out. Car is garage kept.
Front subframe rusted through. This is a similar issue across a wide range of Nissan Pathfinders. This is a major safety issue.
The vehicle was pulling to the right when driving or breaking. Brought to the mechanic and he discovered that the rear passenger side subframe is totally rotted. Appears to be a common problem with Nissan from my understanding now. He suggested I just trade it in. I don't have that luxury so will attempt to have it repaired. I have looked for a recall and so not see one but I do see numerous complaints regarding this issue on various Nissan boards. Some have said they registered a complaint as well. Since this appears to be a common Nissan problem, their corporation should be responsible for the repair. I'm told not to drive unless necessary.
After being notified of NHTSA recall campaign 22v-420 by Nissan north America, inc. We had the required service repairs performed by a qualified Nissan dealership near us, however Nissan has been unable to clear the open recall notice from their Nissan tracking system, so we continue to receive periodic open recall notices from Nissan for this same issue. The NHTSA website recall system correctly shows no open recalls for our vehicle. Several phone calls placed to the Nissan north America consumer affairs department requesting they fix their recall system notification information has only resulted in being transferred between representatives, and then having Nissan drop the calls during those transfers.
Rear subframe/under body completely rusted out at cracked. My daughter and I drive a lot for her health condition to appointments. The Nissan dealership said this could have been catastrophic driving down the freeway had it broke apart while driving. It completely fell apart in the mechanics hand after they removed it and were showing me what actually happened and what I was driving around on. Nissan dealership quoted me $11,000. 00 for the part and labor. I had it fixed through an authorized mechanic for $5,000. 00 because it was wearing and I didn't notice because there were no signs or messages, it rubbed my tires almost bald to where the wires were showing. I had to replace those as well. I wash my car regularly and get 2 detail cleans a year, my car has been well maintained since I bought it. I asked the mechanic how this could have happened and the the Nissan mechanic stated that "this happened due to the fact that Nissan didn't powdercoat certain years of the Pathfinder and that's why it rusted out. He said that had it been powder coated this wouldn't have happened. ".
The subframe has rusted out and it’s causing my arm to move. It appears this is a common issue with Nissan vehicles in general. My mechanic stated that it should not have rusted out like that.
Subframe completely rusted through and has broken in the back portion of the car.
The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder that we own just had the subframe rust and collapse. The car only has 120,000 miles. This is not even close to the expectancy of how long a subframe should last.
Subframe completely rusted through and has broken in the back portion of the car. This risks catastrophic failure at highway speeds where the loose subframe can cause rear wheels to move outside of safe bounds. No warnings are given on the car and it is so hidden underneath that a normal inspection can miss it. Now car has dramatic clanging noise every bump and risks failure every time we drive.
Major subframe damage in similar places on both sides of car causing car to be unsafe.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the rear sub frame was completely rusted through. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic and the subframe was replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,850.
On 3 separate occasions 3 separate door handles have failed to work from the inside of the vehicle. We had to replace the front passenger side door handle twice and the rear left side once and now the rear right side door handle has stopped working. No warnings whatsoever ever they just stop latching and we are unable to exit the vehicle which is very unsafe. We took it to the Nissan dealership in carson city nevada where we paid to get it replaced on 03/07/2022.
Inside passengers front door handle broke making it impossible to open the passengers front door from inside the vehicle.
This happened to me yesterday 09/07/2020 on my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. I was driving about 45 miles an hour on a rural empty road when the sunroof made a pop sound and exploded. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a large sheet of glass hit the road and disintegrate. When I opened the cover for the sunroof most of the glass was gone. The pieces around the frame that remained were shattered. Does anyone know how to join a class action lawsuit?.
While driving down a road, the hood flew up and hit the windshield. I could not see in front of me at all. The hood ripped through the fenders by the windshield. I was driving approx. 35 miles per hour at the time this happened.
Since I purchased my Pathfinder, I have had numerous close calls in almost having an accident due to the mirrors and the side panels inside by the mirrors, I cannot see if another vehicle is coming or if I'm at a 4 way stop I can not see if there is a car on either side of me at the stop. It's very dangerous. I thought I was the only one having this issue, but I just saw a forum about it online. I just don't want to be in an accident and harm myself or anyone else.
The visor broke and the interior door handle stopped working.
While driving on highway, front hood latch that holds hood down became unlatched, causing hood to fly back hitting and shattering windshield, damaging the right and left fenders and denting the roof of my vehicle .
While driving down the highway the sunroof exploded send chunks of glass flying. The explosion was so loud, it caused me to swerve which could have caused an accident if another car had been in the other lane. The sunroof was closed and had not been opened in weeks.
Driving down the street around 35-40 mph, hood flies open and hits windshield out of no where.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the hood of the vehicle opened and smashed into the windshield. The contact stated that the windshield shattered upon impact and the roof, driver's and passenger's side front fenders were damaged significantly. Driver door latch has broken preventing opening the door from the inside. The door may only be opened from the outside. The vehicle was parked in a driveway and exiting was prevented until someone else opened the door from the outside.
Plastic retaining clip inside both driver and passenger sunvisor broken causing visors to fall in field of view causing an obstruction of view of oncoming traffic. Passenger side door handle broken inside of door not allowing passenger to exit from vehicle.
The plastic door handle on the driver's side is prone to breaking, which means one cannot quickly exit the vehicle in an emergency. Mine broke and, for a significant amount of time I wasn't sure how I could get out of the vehicle. If the car is not running, or the battery is inoperative, one cannot roll down the window to get out that way. The console makes it very difficult, if not impossible, for the driver to exit through the passenger door. The assumption is that you can roll down the window, or that you are physically able to climb over the console and exit on the passenger side. This issue should be a recall and replace issue. The plastic door handle needs to be replaced with a handle that will always open the door. Obviously, the car was stationary when this happened. The part number for the replacement handle 80671-3taod. If needed, I can provide a photograph of the broken plastic door handle and the repair invoice. I am requesting that Nissan cover the charges for the repair, but my greater concern is that someone will be trapped in a burning car, or some emergency situation.
Driving home with family about 11:30 pm on hyway the sunroof exploded and glass went everywhere very unhappy about the situation because my kids could of been hurt very badly lucky I had visor closed by took me 2 hours to cleanup all the glass then when trying to get fixed I am being told the glass for sunroof is almost $800 very unhappy about it why can't this glass be laminated.
Defective interior drivers side door handle. The inside drivers side door handle on my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder broke when I tried to open the door and I am unable to open the door from the inside. The car was parked with the ignition turned off when the handle failed. I removed the door cover and inspected the handle assebly to find a small piece of plastic had broken off. The broken piece of plastic was designed to hold the ball-end of the door latch cable in place. From my own internet search investigations, it sounds like this is a common problem and it is common on driver side door handles given that is the handle used most frequently. The other door handles are manufactured the same way so it is likely that all will fail depending on frequency of use. In my opinion, this defect is related to poor design and cheap materials. If the handle assembly or the part of the assembly that holds the latch cable in place were made of metal or a stronger plastic, there would be no defect. Therefore I believe this defect is the manufacturers responsibility and should be added to the list of recalls that effect this vehicle. The same door handle, part number 80671-3ta0a is the same part used in several other Nissan vehicles. When I searched for a replacement part through a local Nissan dealership's parts department, the part has been superseded by part number 80671-3ta0d so it seems like Nissan may be aware of the defect. This defect is a huge safety concern, let alone a great inconvenience. In an emergency situation this failure could be the difference between life or death.
While opening the drivers door the inside handle would not work. Had to open the window and open the door using the external handle.
Driver side visor has fallen 2-3 inches and passenger side has fallen 4-5 inches. This is a complete safety hazzard for visibility and one could be seriously injured should they have an accident as an airbag can not protect them from faulty interior parts of this vehicle. We noticed a slight issue just after purchase in 2017 and the issue has gotten increasingly worse.
The sun visors while driving do not support themselves and break easily most likely because of cheap plastic. While driving they may fold down and obstruct my view of the road which could cause a crash. This has happened multiple times at any given speed. I have had to tie my sun visors so they do not randomly come down. This is also a problem because there is now no protection from sun light and it is hard to see the road when sunlight is present.
I was given a new transmission when purchased because it had jerky gear changes. Inside door handles are breaking, trapping passenger in car.
