The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving 3 mph in a parking lot, the vehicle stalled. An advanced auto mechanic determined that the battery was drained. The mechanic replaced the battery. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a u-turn, the vehicle went into limp mode. The contact was able to pull into a nearby aaa parking lot, where the vehicle was jumpstarted. The contact was able to drive to the residence. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving and turning. The contact was able to pull into a parking lot, where the vehicle was jumpstarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with cvt judder. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer covered under TSB number: ntb17-039n. The failure mileage was unknown.
Complete shutdown of the vehicle while driving down the road. Caused me to go into a ditch. The vehicles lights flashed and then it just shut off. Had the alternator replaced twice also the battery replaced twice and now the Nissan dealership has said they don't know what's wrong with it.
The relay in the drivers seat melted and the wires shorted out. This caused issues with my radio, clock, brakes, and power issues when accelerating. They replaced the relay which cost me $1200 and suddenly all of my systems work correctly. I was told the short was causing feedback into the electrical systems of the car by the service department. The dealer further confirmed there is an advisory on this issue and it has been noted several times. They stated the issue is ongoing but there is no recall.
The power liftgate switch on the trunk is always having issues due to the chrome plate thats part of the body on the trunk. The chrome panel is easily weathered and rubber seal comes off and when in contact with water, water drains right onto the relay switch and causes burnt out relay, or blown fuses, and does not operate.
No warning lamps or error codes given on instrument cluster while driving normally the car suddenly would not accelerate almost causing an accident while turning left. The car was driven home on idle. This happened 2 weeks prior and the battery was replaced to rule out problem and it worked fine for 2 weeks fine . The same problem occurred again and will not accelerate. This is a major safety hazard and I’m looking into legal action for negligence and non helpful Nissan corporation.
While driving the back gate open warning showed on the dashboard and the dome lights turned on and the doors unlocked by it self this happened several times.
A component is draining my battery. 7/21 new battery installed by dealer. I'm told that the alternator is good. 7/28 adjustment on brake/starter switch??? dealer wasn't clear. Said problem was fixed. 8/4 returned the SUV back to local dealer . Now I'm told that the tow bar was pulling 4 amps of energy and draining the battery, and that I should return the vehicle back to the place of purchased to have repaired. Our 2015 was purchase brand new with the tow bar as part of the accessary package. I have a Nissan security plus extended warranty. The tech suggested that the tow bar may not have been factory installed. In the interim, I have been without transportation for 8 days.
Brake lights will stay on even when car is parked and not occupied. Skid control coms on when driving and engine power is reduced or in lymph node. Car can be put in drive without depressing the brake switch . Ok Nissan says this is not on recall by VIN # but there is an active recall on this model now. Sounds like a good lawsuit to me. Electrical engine cooling fan failure assembly. Loud grinding noise on driver side fan which is an assembly of two fans in one unit. Widely available information on web points to wheel bearing failure inside the fan.
At random times, when the rear, power, lift gate is opened, it reaches the point of being fully opened, and then closes on it's own. This creates a significant safety hazard because if you are reaching into the rear cargo area, the lift gate comes down on your head, neck, or back. This has been a problem since the car was purchased new in 2015 but nothing has been done by a dealer because the problem is random. This happens when the vehicle is parked. There does not appear to be any reason for this defect. Upon doing an internet search, this issue has been reported in various forums by multiple other parties, beginning around 2014. The first time I was hit by the lift gate which closed on it's own was in may 2020.
The vehicle makes a lot of noise when the ac or heat is turned on. Seems to originate from the cooling fans. When the ac or heat is turned off the sound goes off too. It's very loud seems like the fans are going off. Makes the noise whether moving or still as long as the ac or heat is on.
At random, little to no acceleration at initial take off and/or while driving in traffic on a highway or street even if pressing gas pedal to floor. Vehicle will start without pressing brake. Brake light remains on after car is turned off. I've had catalytic converter and brake work done to correct the problem to no avail. Also, I wanted to check speed control as a affected part but it wouldn't select.
Multiple electrical issues after dealer service for 80,000 miles. The safety issue is intermittent acceleration issues when merging into traffic or starting from a full stop. Little to no acceleration in those situations. Other issues that came up at the same time include: a) intermittent brake lights staying on with vehicle parked and powered off and b) intermittent skid warning light illuminating for no reason.

Three times this week we have tried to accelerate our vehicle with no response. In addition, three times this week the brake lights have stayed on after shutting the vehicle off. The brake lights will stay on until you operate the vehicle again. The one day we didnt notice for about 40 minutes. I have read there have been recalls for the 2013 and 2014 brake relay switch so I'm thinking this is the same issue.

This is a total safety issue and the vehicle needs to be recalled before some one is seriously injured or killed!!!.
I've been experiencing problems with my vehicle stalling out. I took it to Nissan on numerous occasions and no problem could've been found until the last time. They informed me that the brakes would come on automatically. They believe it was a sensor problem, however, the problem still happens all the time.
Hello, last night I had to help my sister with her Nissan altima 2013 because when she shifts her car from park to reverse or drive the altima stalls and will not drive. When I popped the hood I noticed that her battery was in very bad shape. It was heavily corroded. I cleaned it and tried, but the same symptoms happened. The altima would stall. We ended up replacing the battery. That was her third battery to be replaced. Why is that? her altima is only 75k miles. This morning I decided to check our 2015 Pathfinder to find the same symptoms. My battery was corroding. I decided to clean the battery and add a battery grease to mitigate corrosion in the future. I checked the internet blog regarding this issues and its evident that Nissan has issues with their car batteries corroding. Can Nissan explain what is going on with this corroding batteries? what can Nissan do to take care of Nissan owners? please advise. Thank you,.
Vehicle start button is in a unsafe location. Knee keeps hitting while driving and car turns off. It needs a cover or smarter switch so that a accidental touch cant shut the car off while driving. It's a severe hazard!!!!!!.
