Seats Problems of Nissan Pathfinder - part 2

I was involved in an accident where another car clipped the back bumper of my Pathfinder going trough an intersection. It was enough to deploy my curtain airbags on the drivers side and the seat air bag in the drivers seat, but did minor damage to the back bumper on the drivers side. But, after everyone was out of my Pathfinder, a police officer noticed a fire inside the Pathfinder. It was located on the panel between the drivers side door and the back door on the drivers side. I don't have pictures (I didn't think to take any) and my insurance company is handling the police report and all the details, but the officer asked me to report this issue to you so I am.

I've been trying to get local Nissan dealer to address several recalls on my vehicle since June 2016. I was told by my local and surrounding Nissan dealerships that they do not have the parts and do not know when Nissan would ship the parts to local dealership for the recall. I've called local Nissan every month since June 2016 to ask if the parts are in but to no avail.

I was sitting at a red light and was rear ended and my two front seats collapsed. If I would have had anyone in the backseats they would have been badly injured or died.

The company has failed to provide a fix for the occupant classification system (OCS). This is putting the passenger at risk of fatal injury or renders the vehicle useless. I feel they have had more than adequate to get this fix remidied. If they cannot do so I would like them to buy back our vehicle.

I have a recurring problem with the front passenger seat airbag sensor light staying on when someone is in the seat. I have taken the car to the dealer five times since I have owned it. Even after the mandatory recalls the problem sporadically still exists. Sometimes the light stays on briefly and other times it stays on up to thirty minutes. I never get a good explanation by the service department other than we checked or adjusted the sensor. After three years I think it is time Nissan steps up and fixes the problem properly. It appears the dealerships cannot do anything without the cooperation of Nissan corporate or government action. It does no good complaining to the service personnel. I feel this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed again.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the airbag warning light illuminated, the airbag light illuminated continuously, the failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed drivers side seat airbag sensor, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified, the approximate failure mileage was 130,000. Rw.

The passenger airbag off indicator light is coming on when there is a adult passenger is in the seat. After repeated complaints on it, nothing has been done by the Nissan service center to resolve the issue. I am forced to video capture every thing while driving to show it as a evidence, as they are not taking this seriously.

The Nissan Pathfinder complete shut down down and then would not go into reverse. I restarted the vehicle and the slip light was on--the car would not go into reverse. I then parked the car and returned next morning and the car electronics apparently reset (apparently) and the car would go into reverse. After driving for 10 km, the slip light came on and I drove it promptly into Nissan repair (overseas). The repair center informs me to not drive the car--possible damage to the transmission and that we need to get a part called valve assembly 31705ea30a; I must have this shipped, and cost for repair labor is $1,000 larie (667. 00 usd). The issue is that the car died out as I was entering into a parking lot and a car hit me in the rear--luckily I was not on a highway when this happened. I have minor rear bumper damage>approximately 200 usd; I would have been seriously injured as well as my wife, if this had happened on the highway or in major traffic flow. My vehicle has persistent squeak coming from second row seat. I took it to the dealer, they ackonwledge the issue and fixed it. The fix lasted only for 2 days. Annoying squeak is back again. I went back to the olympia wa Nissan dealer 3 times about the squeak issue. Finally they replace the plastic molding below the seat, it lasted for 1 day. Now the squeak problem is back again. The vehicle is only 2 months old has only 3500 miles. Not sure what do now ?.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder: the pabi light stays on while a passenger is sitting in the front passenger seat. The light stays on as the individual sits' in the correct position as the owner manual's states. The light also stays on while no one is sitting in the front passenger seat. The vehicle was purchased on February 18, 2013 (new). The vehicle has been in 7 times for the same repair. The have replaced the sensors, the seat and the problems still occurs.

I have been having ongoing issues with my Pathfinder since purchase with the passenger airbag not functioning properly. Initially it would not detect anybody was in the passenger seat and the dealer try to reset the sensor several times with no success. Now all airbag warning lights are on and per the owners manual the vehicle should not be driven. I was told in Jan parts were ordered to fix this issue and they are still not in. Needless to say I am very very upset and will be looking into legal actions.

The airbag and vehicle occupancy sensor failure. The passenger side seat belt sign would remain on despite an empty passenger seat. The light has remained on since the 1st day of purchase. The vehicle has been in service department for 10 days without complete resolution. Nissan USA has been contacted as well.

The 2013 Pathfinder 3rd row seat head rests are too tall causing your blind spot to increase (two or three times more). With those seats in the upright position you can not see the traffic in the opposite lane when looking in the rearview mirror unless it's about a car length behind you. This is a safety issue that could cause an accident leading to an injury or possibly death because you did not see the vehicle in your now extended blind spot. I made a complaint with carlock Nissan with no success in getting this resolved. I was told to fold the seats down but this is not possible when I have passengers in those seats.

Since we took possession of the vehicle, the passenger airbag light would be illuminated when various adult size people will be sitting in the front passenger seat. The weights of the adults sitting in the front passenger seat would vary from 110 and up to 139 and still the light would stay on, indicating that the airbag is off\disabled. We even tried having a salesperson (unknown weight) sit in the car and still the light would stay on.

While driving hear a rattling noise which seems to be coming from dash. While adj passenger seat it want stop advances too far button become stuck.

Tl- the contact owns a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the driver seat automatic drive positioner failed. As a result, the seat would not adjust forward or backwards. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who made him aware of technical service bulletin NHTSA item number: 615858 (seats:front assembly:power adjust). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included on any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 116,000. Pmb.

Driver's electric seat abruptly activates without driver input and sends driver unexpectedly into steering column while vehicle is in motion. Problem was abated by dealer replacing control panel but problem still remains in the form of seat back "creep" while driving for extended periods.

The motor in drivers side seat that allows the seat to move forward and back has failed.

I have had the pulley repaired on my 2002 Pathfinder repair twice, in 2006 and again in 2008 I believe. And it is still giving me a problem. The driver seat motor will not move forward or backward, and in extreme hot weather, my motor drags, and it is hard to start the engine. The cd player never work right.

2001 Nissan Pathfinder se had problems with air bags and seat equipment during a major accident. Prior to the accident, the consumer purchased an after market westin safari light bar, the installation of the bar caused the air bags not to deploy. It appeared the westin bar prevented the sensors behind the front bumper from being depressed in order to activate the air bags.

The driver's seat moved from side to side. It makes driver nervous when it happens and it may not be safe in some conditions. Nissan should fix the problem free of charge at the customers request, but they won't.
