Both sun visors on the drivers side and passenger side will not go up and hang down due to a defect. This blocks the visibility of the road and poses a safety hazard as if you were in an accident the person would get injured by the visor hanging down. This problem has been mentioned online by many Nissan owners and Nissan refuses to cover. I received an estimate of $430. 84 to get them replaced. When I noticed that my visors were like this was when. I picked my car up from the Nissan garage as they were fixing a mechanical problem. I tried to push up and they would just fall down again. Nothing I did to cause this.

The sunvisors ( both sides) mechanism that holds them in position will break from standard normal use. When this happens the sunvisors will not stay in the position that the operator puts the sunvisors in and tend to be floppy. This makes a dangerous situation because the sunvisors may fall down when not intended or not stay in position to needed to block sun glare. The sunvisors may also hang lower in the stowed position creating and edge a person could hit their head on on and abruptl stop. This happens while the car is stopped or in motion, but becomes worse in rough road conditions. The cause is due to the internal plastic that holds the spring clip on the inside on the visor. There are many complaints in online forums and even youtube videos showing diy fixes. Oem replacement part is anout $150. Pictures attached show both sunvisors. Drivers side is operating normal, and the passenger side visor is shown in the positions that it can stop at. Notice inthe stowed position passenger visor hangs low. And in the down position it will not stay all the way out. They will eventually degrade until they just hang down loosely and not maintain any position.

The visor does not stand flush with the roof, it drops down into the driver's line of sight. They will often fall completely down, making it a safety issue for the driver.
The sun visor on the driver's side is defective, leading to impaired visibility during driving. The visor sometimes falls to a vertical position under gravity only. This obstructs forward vision and also obstructs line of sight to the rearview mirror. At other times, the visor partially sags, creating a condition where the front edge of the visor is in close proximity to the driver's face. It's foreseeable that a condition could occur where the visor could cause injury by contact with the driver's face during sudden deceleration. There are no positions that the visor can be put in that do not obstruct the driver's vision.
We were driving out of town on vacation when our sunroof exploded out of no where. It was about 9:30 in the morning on Friday July 19th. We were heading east bound on the 10 freeway it was about 90 degrees outside with no other cars around. The noise was so loud it scared everyone in the car. We have contacted Nissan for help and they have been extremely rude and unwilling to help us at all. They basically said to bad it's your problem not ours.
The driver's side sun visor has an inner plastic piece broken which makes the sun visor randomly fall, blocking my view when driving. This is a common issue on many 2014 Pathfinders that can be fixed by making the parts (visor) better, or by selling a replacement part for the plastic piece that easily breaks. Instead, the manufacturer only sells as a replacement part, the exact same visor that is likely to break again. A second issue on this car is the driver's side door handle inside and outside the door. I find myself often trapped inside the car or outside the car due to this door handle malfunction. This could easily become a life/death safety issue if ever I was in an accident and was trapped inside the car. This is another common defect on this car caused by a cheap plastic piece breaking. Another problem besides being trapped in the car is that sometimes the door opens while driving. These safety issues common in the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder should be corrected immediately with a safety recall.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder the sunvisor on both the driver and passenger side has not fails to push up to close. The sunvisor, now remaining in the open position, also seems to be lowering in its positioning obscuring the front view. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealership regarding the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number 37262593. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. Gl.
Passenger side sun visor will not stay up creating a blind spot/visibility hazard. Driver side is beginning to stay down lower from the roof of the car also. Passenger side now stays down all the time and when pushed up immediately falls back down.
Driver side visor interfears with vision. It can not stay up. Just flops down.

Driving down the road and my sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gunshot went through the sunroof. Glass fell down onto my wife and 2 kids in the back seat. There were no rocks in front of me for debris to come back. The whole thing shattered. It didn't have a crack or spider. I have read numerous other issues like this on the internet and consumer reports recently wrote an article about this. Nissan was in the top 3 having this issue. I went to my dealer and he thought we were crazy and assumed we caused this damage and tried to explain their were related articles online with the same issues as my experience. It was very scary and could've been dangerous if there were other vehicles behind us because, we had to slam on our brakes. I also purchased extended warranty and they would not cover it.
The sun visors on our 2014 Nissan Pathfinder started to droop down and eventually became so loose that they did not stay up at all and are dangling all the way down. This is not only annoying but also a safety hazard because the driver side is blocking part of the view. The loose flapping panel also distracts the driver immensely.
Sun visors will not stay up in the retracted position, obstructing windshield visibility. Plastic parts for retaining sun visors are broken. This is with very light use. Both sun visors started malfunctioning around the same time, which points to a manufacturing defect rather than normal wear and tear. Many people on the internet are complaining about the same issue.
The large driver side mirror, combined with the low seat causes a large blind spot. Any vehicles or pedestrian on the drivers left side are difficult be see. I am uploading a picture of the view I have while sitting in the drivers seat. In the picture where the red arrow is pointing there is actually a street coming out on the left side of the vehicle. As you can see the driver cannot possibly have a clear view of traffic or pedestrians coming from that street on the left side.

Plastic retaining clip inside both driver and passenger sunvisor broken causing visors to fall in field of view causing an obstruction of view of oncoming traffic. Passenger side door handle broken inside of door not allowing passenger to exit from vehicle.
I am having issues with the visors in my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. They are both broke and hang down in front of my line of vision. Nissan will not repair these. I have replaced both and they have broken in the exact same spot again. Making it difficult to see the road. I have had to remove them and cannot afford to pay for the repairs again. So now the sun is making it difficult to see the road as opposed to the visor blocking my line of vision. This is a huge problem for many Nissan owners. The dealership even noted that Nissan needs to do a recall because of the incident rates. The visors both broke while driving and I had to hold them up and out of the way making me utilize one hand to drive.

Tl-the contact owns 2015 Nissan Pathfinders. The contact stated that while driving at 25mph, the contact notice an odd noise coming from the ac unit when on without any waring lights illuminated. The contact then took the vehicle in for a routine check up with an independent mechanic where a diagnosed test was performed and determined that the coolant fan has failed. The dealer town north Nissan 9160a research blvd, austin, TX 78758 (512)-451-7411 was contact in regard to the failure and informed the contact that a diagnosed fee has to be made in order for the dealer to perform repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirm there were no recalls under the VIN. The failure mileage was 67,796. Ck.
Both my sun visors have failed after only 61000 miles. The driver's side visor lost its ability to stay in either the up or fully forward situation resulting in it falling down in front of my vision while I was driving down the highway. The passenger side visor is almost at the same stage of failure. It hangs down 2 inches from the top of the roof. Multiple times passengers have hit their face on the visor when leaning forward. After talking with the Nissan dealership's parts department, they indicated that situation is not abnormal. The parts person said he was in a similar situation with his Pathfinder. I ended up replacing the drivers side visor since it was blocking my vision while driving. Soon the passenger side visor will need to be replaced. As you can see from the attached pictures the visor design is sub-par and should be redesigned and provided to customers.
Sunvisors on both driver and passenger side have a design flaw and a piece inside the visor breaks. When this piece breaks, the visors will not stay up or down and just hang in the drivers line of sight.
Both drivers and passengers side sun-visors will not stay up against the ceiling, or against the windshield, and drop down into my line of sight, which makes it a hazard while driving because it will not stay in place. Myself and passengers are constantly hitting our heads on them. It obstructs my view while driving even when my seat is all the way down. Nissan you have been made aware of this defective part and this should be recalled. It makes driving hazardous.
Driver sun visor would make a clicking sound. Now the visor will not stay up and it disturbs my visibility when driving.
The sun visors on the Pathfinders break easily and hang in the driver sight. This causes a major distraction. Nissan will replace the broken part for $100 and up. Online, there are dozens of videos showing customer complaints. Nissan knows about this cheap part but will not correct.
The sunvisors will not stay up against the ceiling, or against the windshield, and drop down into my line of sight when I don't want them to.
The driver's side sun visor is defective. I barely used this and it will not stay in place, which makes it a hazard while driving because it will not stay in place. Nissan you have been made aware of this defective part and this should be recalled. It makes driving hazardous.
Problem #1: several instances where the unit loses acceleration while in motion (driving) or when trying to accelerate from a complete stationary at a light. I press the pedal to accelerate with no response, cero acceleration. In order for me to get acceleration back I have to park and put in on parking and try the pedal again. I have taken my car to Nissan where the diagnose can't be determine because the lack of warning signs on the control panel. The unit did not show the condition at that moment and they were not able to replicate it. After taking the unit out of the mechanical workshop, a warning sig was revealed as follows: p0603: internal control module keep alive memory (kam) error. I called the workshop and they told me no recalls were claimed for that reason (error code). Problem #2: the warranty was over (36months) and both visors went permanently down. They were replaced at my own cost. Problem #3: the brakes lights are keeping on even when the unit is off. This is making the battery runs out!.
Our Pathfinder has been recalled twice for passenger side airbag malfunctions. Despite having been "repaired" on both occasions, the airbag light started flashing. Nissan is now informing us that the entire airbag system is defective, yet they maintain that this issue is unrelated to the prior recalls and as such, have refused to cover the cost of repair. In addition, the visors on both the driver and passenger sides have broken and are sagging, impairing vision during vehicle operation. In researching solutions, we have discovered that both issues are common complaints for drivers of our specific model Pathfinder, yet Nissan seems to be doing nothing to fix these recurrent defects.
The sun visors on both the drivers and passenger side will not stay up while driving the plastic supports on both sides have cracked and will not stay in the proper position. This creates a safety hazard as if the do not stay up it blocks the visibility and ability to drive safely. I have had to remove it as I do not want to hold it up while driving.
On a bumpy road, drivers side sun visor failed completely and dropped down blocking drivers vision. We have already replaced sun visor previously, this has happened to us before.
Driver side sunvisor began popping upon closure about a year ago. Within the last week, it has completely broken and will no longer stay upright. This is causing limited visibility and hazardous driving conditions.
Driver side sun visor started coming down last year then finally broke. We bought a new one and installed it for $100. Then 6 months later the passenger side broke. We have hit our heads numerous times and other passengers as well. Then, just 3 weeks ago the newly installed driver side sun visor started coming down. This is very annoying and painful when colliding with the broken sun visor. Nissan should give recall on their 2014 Pathfinder sun visors. During driving the visor hangs halfway down which obstructs the driving view and also reduces depth of field vision for braking purposes.
The sun visors are poorly engineered and are easily broken through normal operation. The visor was placed against the windshield to block the sun, while driving, the visor pivoted downward and blocked the driver's field of view. This is a common problem as one can easily see with a quick web query. Frustrating that the part is expensive to replace, but even more concerning that it presents a safety hazard and Nissan dealerships said "it's common that the visors break because they're made of cheap plastic".
The driver side and passenger side sun visors broke and won't stay in place and are a hazard while driving.
The drivers side sun visor will not stay in upright position. It is blocking the drivers view of the road.
Sun visor on the driver's side is broke. Had the car 2 years. Barely ever pulled it down, only when there was a lot of sun in my eyes and I couldn't see. Found out on line there have been numerous complaints about this on 2014 models. People keep having problems with them breaking, unexpectedly. There is no recall.
I was driving my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder on the expressway with my wife in the passenger seat and 2 kids (8 & 9) in the rear seat. I had the sunroof closed but the shade screen open. All of a sudden there was a loud bang and the sunroof glass shattered. Then myself, wife and kids got showered from some of the broken glass while I was still driving. When this happened my wife and kids were scared and screaming and I quickly managed to close the shade screen and pull to the highway shoulder. After searching online I have learned that this is not an uncommon issue with sunroofs, specifically Nissan. I have since called my insurance who will cover the damage and also filed a claim with Nissan to see if they will cover the damage.
