1 Parking Brake Actuator problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

The contact owns a 1999 Nissan Quest. While driving 70 mph, the front driver's side brakes locked up. The contact had a difficult time controlling the vehicle, but managed to drive to the dealer. The dealer stated that the brake hose was the cause of the failure and the braking components overheated. The dealer suggested that the rotors, pads, caliper, and hose on both sides of the vehicle be replaced. The repairs were made, but the failure recurred 8,000 miles later. He took the vehicle to a repair shop and they replaced the pads and turned the rotors. The mechanic test drove the vehicle and the driver's side brakes locked up again. The dealer replaced all the components again and recharged the contact over $300. The dealer currently states that the abs actuator needs to be replaced. The failure mileage was 108,000.
