Five problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 1999 Nissan Quest. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I received the information about the settlement regarding the throttle body cleaning. I called my local dealer and 1-800-nissan1 to request a throttle body cleaning. My van currently has 80,000 miles on it. I have in my possession 2 invoices (1 at 52,000 miles and 1 at 70,000 miles) from the dealer showing where I took the vehicle in for service regarding this problem (and other things) and they did nothing about it. I was told (as others were) that it is maintenance and I chose not to have it done (or not to spend $150). I purchased the extended service agreement from the local dealer. At this point, I have been told that they will not perform a throttle body cleaning on my vehicle because it is out of warranty--even though I have proof from the dealer that I was having this problem and even though I bought the extended service agreement. My husband and I have owned 4 Nissans--we will never own another!.
Vehicle lost acceleration on hwy traveling at approx 60mph.
Throttle body assembly problem, petal gets stuck and considerable pressure is needed to move on.
Problem manifest itself as a "sticking" gas pedal. Thjis is a problem that could cause an accident. Informed that throttle body accumulates carbon. Is there any other information regarding this problem.
Accelerator increased on its own intermittently. Dealer replaced the throttle position sensor and the surges have stopped.
