Rearview Mirror problem #1

The rearview mirror on the vehicle, donnelly glare free compass mirror, has become unusable. At first I thought it was because of the heat and sun in guam but after reviewing the web site, I found out that there is a technical service bulletin on this mirror.

Interior Rearview Mirror problem #2

Description: the inside rear view mirror in my 2002 Nissan Quest is an electro chromic self-dimming mirror that has no manual backup. The mirror containes a fluid which has recently accumilated on the bottom 3/4 of the mirror surface causing the self-dimming mirror to fail to provide dimming against rear approaching headlights on the top 1/4th. Additionally, the bottom 3/4ths is so dark it is almost impossible to see vehicles approaching unless their lights are on. A person standing behind the vehicle could not be seen at dusk. There are many documented cases of these mirrors failing in various makes and models as a result usually from the internal fluid leaking. This mirror was made by magna donnelly. Replacement mirrors are approximately $350 from the dealership.
