3 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2005 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 10/09/2006

The oem tires installed in my 05 Nissan Quest s when new are in need of being replaced at only 30000 milles. The tire in Question is the goodyear eagle ls2. I've been reading reviews of owner of this kind of vehicle. We are mostly complaining of the lack of tread warranty in this tires, also about how fast these tires' lifes are gone so fast and finally that this is the only tire in this size available. In other words we need to keep up purchasing a really bad tire at a high price. Can you help us, the consumers.

4 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/04/2006

Tire tread wear. The oem tires (goodyear eagle ls2 225/65 hr16) treads wear down around 25k miles. There is only one manufacturer of these tires and there is no warranty on them. Attempting to find replacement tires at a reasonable cost is not easy.

5 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/24/2006

2004 Nissan Quest, premature failure of treads on tires, tires have no tread warranty and a monopoly exists on tire replacement as it is a special made tire size for Nissan. Basically tires are worn out at only 33,000 miles. Goodyear apparently made these tires designated as sports tires but placed them on a Mini van apparently just for Nissan in the size 225/65/16. Have been unable to locate any other manufacturer who makes this size so it appears to be a Nissan/goodyear exclusive and thus a monopoly on these tires. Goodyear nor Nissan provide any tread warranty that I've been able to determine. Goodyear said directly that they do not provide a tread warranty on this tire. Goodyear indicates expected life span to only be about 30,000 miles. This was not indicated when vehicle was purchased and not what you would expect as normal to replace tires every year to every year and a half at a cost of over $700. I have been unable to get Nissan north America headquarters to communicate to me any information and local Nissan dealers are also somewhat confused over the size. Consumers who expect tires to last a reasonable amount of time under good driving conditions do not get reasonable expectations out of these tires and must return to Nissan/goodyear for high cost replacements for low quality tires.

6 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2005 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/08/2005

The contact states that the 2005 Nissan Quest has tires that feathered on the inside edge of all four tires. The tires have been balanced and rotated every 5,000 miles. The tires stayed at the right pressure, which was 35 pounds. The tires started showing signs of feathering around 10,000 miles. The tires were the original ones that came on the van. The tires needed to be replaced at 16,000 miles. The contact has been in contact with goodyear and Nissan. The van has been in alignment the whole time that the contact owned the van. She stated that goodyear said that one of the tires was out of alignment by . 011. Goodyear was the only one who found any problem with the alignment. The representative from Nissan has checked the alignment and the tires were within the specs. The damage was apparent at 10,000 miles. At this point, goodyear has said that they would pay for 50% of the cost on another set of eagle LS tires. The contact was looking for an alternative brand of tires. The contact has every single piece of documentation of where she has had the tires rotated and balanced. Nissan and goodyear were telling her that the paperwork was no good for them because it did not come from the dealership.

9 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 02/06/2004

I have had to look into alignment probelms again and replace the brakes and the tires again. I also was told by the dealer that this was because of "normal" wearing of the cv joints and that my front axle was shot so I had to replace this too. I have had so much tire, tire valve, brake and front end trouble, it's ridiculous.

10 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2002 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/22/2003

I recently experienced complete and partial tire wall separation on 3 of 4 continental touring contact a/s p215/65r-16 tires during one 1200 mile trip. The tire wall separation occurred on my 2002 Nissan Quest which had only 9500 miles on the vehicle. The three tire wall separations occurred suddenly while driving at highway speed resulting in two near-serious accidents and collisions. Upon inspection by a Nissan service center and local tire distributor, two tires were found to have very obvious and total tire wall separation and one tire was found to have partial separation. There was no indication of any tire punctures or obvious damage that may have caused the tire wall separations. Despite the vehicle being under factory warranty, the dealership was unwilling to assume any responsibility associated with continental tire failure. Upon contacting the continental customer service hotline, continental tire was unwilling to offer any form of reimbursement for the defective tires that left me stranded in two states because the replacement tires were replaced with non-continental tires and replaced at an unauthorized continental dealer. The only compromise that they were willing to make was to replace the defective tires with another continental brand tire if an authorized continental tire dealer verified the tire wall separation. Due to the obvious defectiveness of this brand of continental tires, I was unwilling to jeopardize my family's safety by placing another continental brand tire on my vehicle.

13 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2001 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 10/30/2002

In the last 4 months the four original equipment tires on my vehicle have had tread separation. My car is approx 1. 5 years old and 17000 miles. I have had the problem occur as I take a 200 mile trip on the turnpike. On each of three trips a tire has gone bad, on the last trip two tires went bad. The first tire I replaced on my own, the second tire I contacted continental and they sent me to an authorized dealer where they found the tire defective (tread separation). I was offered a pro-rata price for the tire. Currently I contacted continental once again and they told me to go to the authorized dealer to check the tires. I feel that this is not an isolated occurance and having the four tires with the same problem within this short time frame is unusual and dangerous. The trips I have taken include my whole family, this is a seriouly safety concern.

15 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2000 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/27/2001

I noticed this morning that the middle thread on both driver side tires was worn to a shiny black surface. The other two tires were noticeably worn. Nissan dealership told me that several Quest owners have had same problem, but otherwise did not assist me. General tire provide immediate assistance and I now have replacement tires. I am concerned as my tires have been properly maintained (rotated every six thousand miles) and should not have this type of wear. (tiresize: p215/70r15).
