On April 19, 2022, I was driving home after picking up my son. The traffic was bumper to bumper. And as I sat in traffic, when I moved my foot from the brake to the accelerator, the vehicle would not move. So while sitting in traffic, and the traffic began to move, I could not move. So I turned the car off, and turned it back on, and I was able to move enough to get the vehicle on to the shoulder of traffic. My father came and changed the battery, and I was able to start the car and drive home, which was 30 minutes away. Two days later, same thing happened again. After driving the vehicle for a delivery, I was on my way to get some gas. And as I turned from one street to another, the vehicle stalled on me as I was turning slow. The vehicle would not start up at all. So I had to call a towing service to tow the vehicle home. According to some people online, the problem could be in the cvt transmission overheating, or it could possibly be a software issue. The 2011 Nissan Quest were a part of a recall, but when I put my VIN number in, it doesn't show my vehicle being one, but its doing what the recall was calling for. Our safety was put at risk, because the vehicle stalled in the middle of 2 busy highways, causing a safety risk for me and my son, but also causing a risk for others behind me in traffic, not knowing that my vehicle was stalled. There were no warning signs that popped up at all. The car just quit driving. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. Right now it is just sitting in front of my house, until we figure out what to do next. I have had to pay 2 towing fees for the problem, and don't want to come out paying a whole lot for this issue. We just bought this vehicle from a private owner 2 weeks ago, and this is the first week it is doing this.

My brake system was flushed but my brake light and battery and abs light stays on flickering I was driving my vehicle at high speed and it it just stalls with no warning. . . I have to wait 20 mins or more before it'll start again. It has bn doing this for an entire year. . Driving full speed with no warning just shut down in middle of traffic.
The lcd screen on the dash door keeps acting crazy like scrambling and it has now just gone completely black.
Acceleration from a full stop is unreliable. The issue is most prominent when going up a slight incline and will continue until the vehicle is able to level off, when acceleration resumes to normal response. Even on level road surfaces, the acceleration is inconsistent once accelerator is pressed. This has been a consistent issue for well over a year.
The vehicle can't speed when the engine is hot until your off the engine before it can speed and it overheating.

I was driving my 2013 Nissan Quest, when without any warning it stop accelerating, it would nit go forward or backwards. I was stuck in the middle of traffic with a car full of my family this is very dangerous. I noticed that when the a/c is on the car will move forward or backwards. This is dangerous and when moving and you turn right or left the van stops accelerating with out anywarning no check engine nothing . This problem needs to be fixed before a hole family losses there life due to faulty warning and the transmission not working like it should, it sounds like tjhis is an issue with a lot of the same model vans.

While driving on the interstate with 2 infants in cars seats as well as 3 other adults the vehicle lost power. It would not accelerate. Within minutes the steering was stiff and was extremely difficult to turn. Pulled off the interstate and onto a side road. The vehicle finallt decellerated to a full stop. Turned it off and restarted a few moments later. Vehicle ran again but no steering. Popped the hood and looked and no power steering fluid in the well. Added fluid and steered ok till 4 blocks from my house at which time the steering acting up again and not accelerating no matter how far you push the pedal. Turned it off and restarted again. Steering not working but accelerated enough to park it at home. Took to my mechanic but says he cannot look at it until Wednesday. Was so scared cause had the grandbabies in the van.
The spedometer and the lights for it don't work got pulled over and told I had a fake inspection because of them not working can't get an exact reading on my mileage, fuel or if the vans over heating I can't tell how fast or slow I'm going.
Passenger air bag LS off, light flashing speedometer starts at 30miles.
After driving on the highway, the speedometer needle remained at 50 mph while the vehicle is stopped. When we drive, the needle moves beginning at the 50 mph mark.

When I put my car into reverse, the car 'reved up' and began moving forward. With all of my might, I pushed down on the brakes. The car was still moving forward, so I then put the car into 'park'. At that point, it made a hideous grinding noise, so I immediately turned the car off. About 30 seconds later, I started the car and it sounded fine. I then drove the car home, (about 5 miles), without incident.

I just paid my van off when I started having engine issues. At 120,000 codes read p1701 tcm wiring , p0746 pressure control solenoid , p1778 step motor , p0868 pressure control module . Is it the transmission the mechanic doesnt want to touch it just wants to change the tranny . I can not afford this. I am single mom is there not someone that can rebuild them properly ???? I bought a Nissan because I thought it would last longer. I have not driven the van in 6 months its a total loss if I spend the money and it happens again then I am putting good money after bad. It's not worth anything as a down payment if I have to tow it in. Has anyone got to the bottom of this??? how I found out is that I turned onto a busy street pushed the gas it wouldnt go. The car behind me had to drive upon the curve accident narrowly avoided. This sucks.
The brake, abs, service engine light is showing on the dash and will not go out. I just had brakes and rotors put on this vehicle. I was traveling on the highway and the vehicle just shut down. I was able to pull off to the shoulder safely. The vehicle at first would crank but not start. After a few minutes, I was able to start vehicle. Now the engine runs rough and it hesitates on acceleration.

I being having this problem a couple months already. Everytime that I drive my Nissan Quest for a while the gears start slipping. Before and after I make a stop it's like somebody hit me in the back.
Attempting to get on the interstate. Accelerated, but rpm's went up to 5 or 6 but the speed did not increase. Husband tried to manually shift, but vehicle would not go into overdrive. We pulled off the road, turned vehicle off and restarted. Vehicle reacted correctly to accelerating with just a little sluggishness. Transmission fluid was checked and it was fine. Unfortunately, day trip was cancelled and children were very disappointed, because we were afraid to be too far from home and not be able to get back.
When put in gear or stop and go jerks very hard and some times don't want to go.
Transmissions gear slips and jerks unexpectedly. You never know when it will jerk when accelerating. Will probably need to rebuild the whole transmission that will cost plenty. Also dangerous for my family to drive.
Had the vehicle since 2004 as the original owner. Vehicle has not been in an accident. Heard a loud clunk when driving after removing foot from brake and after going over bumps. Turned out the metal subframe of the vehicle has completely rusted out and separated from the frame of the vehicle. The steering crossarms and ball joint are loose because of this. It's a $4000 repair and car has only 120k miles. Had to get new car. Dealer said it's not safe to even drive and not worth fixing.
Transmission is failing on this 2007 Nissan Quest. Surges, drops, delays in acceleration creating very dangerous situations on the road. This is apparently a common issue with this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Quest. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact stated that the vehicle accelerated on its own. The failure caused the vehicle to crash into a wall. The contact sustained injuries and the vehicle was damaged extensively. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed to a lot. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 42,000.
I was driving at 45 mph and pressed the gas. It was early Sunday morning, very light traffic. I pressed the gas pedal to accelerate and did not hear the engine respond. I looked at my gauges and the tachometer was at 0. I realized the engine was not running. I tried revving the gas pedal but nothing happened. I managed to guide my car off the road into an entrance road to a business. I put the car in park and attempted to start it. The engine turned over but would not catch. The gas gauge showed a quarter of a tank and no light was on. I called my wife and she brought a gas can. I poured it the gas. The car immediately started. I went to a gas station. The car took 19 gallons. The capacity was 20 gallons so the car was empty. I have been monitoring since. On a typical week my car is slightly under half a tank. This week my car was a little bit under three quarter 3/4 full. The trip odometer showed I had gone 174 miles. I filled up the car and it took 11. 3 gallons. This indicate the tank is almost exactly 1/4 off. I was very lucky when the car stalled I could pull off safely. I have seen many post on the internet regarding this issue on this year car. What has to happen to get this addresses? this is the same problem as the frontier and pathfinder and xterra are having for the same year. They all have the same 3. 5 liter engine. Any one checking to see if the Quest has the same fuel pump/sender assembly? the similarities are just to obvious.
I was going to get gas for my Nissan Quest, the reading said I had 30 more miles to go before empty. I drove around the circle in the road and made the turn onto the road and my car stalled. I was almost hit by a truck behind me, but it swerved off the road to avoid my car.
While driving on highway the van started to shake while applying the brake and then there was no power as the gas was pressed. The gas was to the floor and the max speed was 50 mph. The more you drove the worst it got. I am only talking driving approximately 15-20 mile. When you first start out it is not as bad, but it is absolutely not safe to drive nor am I willing to drive it anymore. I have read articles on this and it certainly seems like a common problem. Lets get it together Nissan!!!!! I really want to know if going import is worth it. I have a 2001 GMC with over 175,000 with no problems.

The contact owns 2012 Nissan Quest. The contact was driving approximately 25 mph when the engine rpms increased abnormally and the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact shifted into neutral and was able to stop the vehicle on the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer prior to the failure for repairs under NHTSA campaign id number: 12v076000 (electrical system: software). The contact stated the failure could have been related to the recall repair because there were no failures prior to the vehicle being serviced under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000.
As you start off from a stop the transmission jerks in the lower gears, the speed surges then goes back down and there is an infrequent knocking noise. The transmission also starts to gear down as you go down a decline at speeds of 45-50 mph.
I was approaching a red light, applying brakes, so car was going about 2mph when it suddenly began shaking and rumbling. I was on a small down hill incline. The engine just cut off and the car did not allow me to press on the brakes any longer. The car continued rolling through the red light/ intersection when I applied the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. Put car in park and attempted restarting 4 times, but it would not allow me to press my foot on the brake in order to start the car. After 4 attempts, I was able to get the car to start. Fuel indicator told me I had 33 miles to empty. I drove another 10 miles and filled the gas.
The rattling noise began at 45,000 miles. When I accelerate, a rattling chain sound is heard from the engine area. I currently have 50,000 miles on my 2007 Nissan Quest. It has to be replaced or it will eventually do damage to the engine. It's an 8 hr process. It's estimated at $1800 for the repair. The timing chain needs to be replaced and there's no recall. There is a repair bulletin out but no recall. The speedometer reads 20-25mph when it's at "parked" and sometimes when the engine is turned off. I am driving 60mph on a local road and 100mph on the freeway. The rear blower turns on by itself when I turn on the engine. I have to shut off the engine and the blower turns off. The front blower is off during the entire time. These are repairs that have been experienced by other owners and yet there's no recall, only service bulletins.
The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that after the vehicle came to a stop, it accelerated. When the accelerator pedal was engaged the vehicle suddenly lunged forward. The failure had become progressively worse over time. Nissan was not notified about the failure when the complaint was filed. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileages were 142,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Quest. While driving at 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly began to accelerate. The contact shifted into neutral to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership but the dealer stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The contact called the manufacturer and filed a complaint. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 26,000.
I had pulled into a parking space and stopped fully. The van was still in drive and suddenly the engine accelerated while my foot was till on the brake. I grabbed the shift lever and put it in neutral and the engine raced at very high rpm until I was able to grab the ignition key and turn it off. I restarted it and it seemed normal so I drove home and parked it.
The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Quest minivan. While driving approximately 1-2 mph approaching a traffic light the vehicle accelerated. The contact stated that he had to engage the brakes with excessive force, and the emergency brake in order to place the vehicle in neutral and stop it from accelerating. The contact stated that because of the failure he had to replace the motor mounts twice. The failure only happened intermittently when approaching a stop. The failure had been ongoing for the last year and a half. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the throttle body assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 81,000 and the current mileage was 86,500.
On this date our 2007 Nissan Quest van, while stopped at a stop light surged to over 3500 rpms (this is an estimate because I did look at the rpms until after the peak of revving). I stood on the brakes and kept the van from moving into the intersection, then shoved it into neutral. The engine came back to normal rpm range. On 2/9/07 I was stopped at a stop sign and the van once again surged, this time I noted it went over 5000 rpms. I jammed on the brakes and kept it from moving into on coming traffic. I shoved it into neutral again avoiding an accident, the rpms returned to normal range. I made the dealership aware of both incidents and had it into service both times. They found nothing wrong and made no repairs. We then called Nissan customer service and lodged a complaint. A factory technician inspected the van on 3/19/07. He found nothing wrong, made no repairs and declared that the van was fine. We will not drive the van and my wife who is disabled, is left without the use of her motorized wheelchair. We bought the van for the express purpose of using it to transport her chair. We have been without our van for over 2 and 1/2 months as of today's date, 3/31/07. Thank you for any help you may be able to give.
: the contact stated while driving various speeds, the engine stalled without warning. Afterwards, the engine would not restart, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. Initially, the dealer determined the battery needed to be replaced, but the problem persisted. The dealer later determined the throttle body needed to be replaced. After the replacement, the stalling continued, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer to await installation of a data recorder to record any type of failure within the vehicle. The manufacturer was alerted.
