1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2021

Will not go up hill only 40 mph had the transmission rebuild still only 40 mph.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2021

Sudden loss of power while driving on highway after a few hours. Car cannot exceed 40 mph.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/29/2021

The transmission shudders, jerks, whines, roars loudly. Yes it’s available for inspection. I was driving up a hill with my grand children in the car, and it started shuddering. Didn’t seem to be getting gas at all. The tank was full. Then it started rolling backwards down the hill. Needless to say my grand children were scared to death as I was also. No I haven’t spoken to anyone about the problem, as I don’t know who to talk to? nobody has looked at it yet. I figured the transmission went, so I haven’t bothere$ with reaching out, until a friend told me hers did the exact same thing. So we looked it up. Yes it seemed to be shuddering before but never lost power and rolled backwards. There were no warning lights, or signs of it quitting. There was no acceleration at all. Just slowly lost power. It was still running but when you push the gas pedal you got nothing. Not even the reving of the motor!03/29.

Itakata recall:bought the car in July 2016, and everything that can go wrong has, of course it's trial by error, this car had and still has every defect there is. I bought this car from I was not notified of any problems or was my VIN number posted in any event we were on our way to lake george, traveling at a speed of 70 when all of a sudden my car decelerated, flooring got us know where, literally there was traffic everywhere, I put my hazardous lights on and was finally able to get over to right side of road. On another occasion I attempted to go up a hill and while in drive the car just rolled backwards, service engine light came on, perhaps a week after getting my car serviced and multi car inspection. I took the car back ,lady at the desk informed me there was a crack in the cvt, they sealed it and replace transmission fluid , she also went to say if it still gives you problems then we will replace transmission while a few weeks later it decelerated again. I have brought the car back to fucillonissan three times, the service man stated I had to wait until the service light on, what he really meant to say is we are not going pay over three thousand dollars for a new transmission, or wait for the extended warranty to expire. The tire pressure indicated light has came on since I bought the car, which is also a defect , and repeatedly informed them, just filling the tires up and reset the buttons prior to me owning this car it was serviced for emissions defect, their website indicated that they merely reset the button, but the fact that are hazardous fumes don't even direct them to look for leak. The gentleman from Nissan said was resolved, pushing a button, just like they did with tire pressure sensor. Nys adhere to one hand watches the other, hence they would place a recall, I just hope an inexperienced driver go through any of this.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

I got this car from my daughter in may. This problem started in June, stopped for a while & now in winter (January) it came back & is getting worse to the point I won't drive on freeway anymore. Decelerates at freeway speeds combined with jerking motion. Also does not always accelerate (dogs out) while pressing on gas from complete stop or trying to accelerate in slow traffic causing cars behind to slam on brakes.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

Gas guage started being inaccurate at 36,000 miles. I have read on-line that this is a known problem w Nissans but to date the company does not seem to be doing anything responsible about it. Safety concern is running out of fuel in an area like a canyon road at night where there is no safe place to pull over and cell phone coverage is not available. I travel weekly in such an area for 45 miles at night. I can't trust whatever the guage shows now.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2016

Gas gauge quit working. Sensor needle goes up and down.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/24/2016

My car failed the cal smog check on 3/24/2016 preventing me from obtaining my registration tags. The car passed every test with the exception of code p0463-fuel level sensor "a" circuit high. The check engine light is on also. I took the car to first Nissan in simi valley, CA and they indicated it would cost $900 to pull the engine to see if the fuel sensor level equipment needs to be replaced. I also called Nissan corporation to seek assistance due to the cost. Nissan corp refused to provide any assistance. I have read information on the internet that this has been an issue with my year Nissan and that they have recalled vehicles and paid for their repair.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2016

Incorrect fuel level indicator reading, check engine light on. Reason -faulty fuel level sending unit.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2016

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate even after the accelerator pedal was fully depressed. The failure recurred four more times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2015

The gauge isn't reading full. And after researching online theres plenty of complaints about it. But according to everyone and according to Nissan their not doing anything about it. ,.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2015

Important: if you have a complaint about your transmission, acceleration problems or loss of power you need to also a complaint with the federal trade commission (ftc 877-382-4357) regarding your dealings with Nissan. I just spoke with the ftc and they told me that while they don't respond to individual complaints if they see patterns they do. The only way we will get Nissan to respond to us is by complaining about their business practices as well as their safety issues. These dealerships and corporate consumer affairs know that until enough of us complain to the right people and stop just paying for Nissan's known problems with the cvt and other issues, they will keep giving us the run around. I have to put my 2nd transmission in my 2008 Rogue in 12 months. Nissan tells me my last new transmission (April 2014) was out of the 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. Their business practices are horrible. These cars are unsafe and putting people in danger. Please make your voice known at the ftc as well as here. Tell others to do the same. We deserve better. 13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2015

My vehicle lost the ability to accelerate while I was driving on the highway on Wednesday. The car started to shake a bit and when the accelerator was pressed to the floor, the speed decreased to about 30mph and the engine sounded like an airplane taking off. The car eventually regained its ability to accelerate until I got off on the exit near my house and that is when the car lost acceleration again in the midst of oncoming traffic. This problem has occurred several times since I've had this car and each time I call the dealership they claim to not have heard of this ever happening. It even happened on a trip from TN to SC. This is a serious problem and is extremely dangerous when driving in heavy traffic on the interstate and congested city streets. I am nervous about taking the car on trips longer than 30-45 minutes long. There is also an issue where the tpms light comes on and stays on for days. When I have it checked out, I'm usually told that the air pressure is good and that the light is just malfunctioning. The local Nissan delearship denies having knowledge of this issue also and they want me to pay a ton of money for them to check it out.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/24/2015

Car loses power without warning, on highway going 80, all of sudden total lost of power on any incline. Dangerous to myself and others around me. Coming off highway hesitates , appears to not move at all. Eventually car is moving approx. 20 mhp, extremely dangerous for highway. Not specific to my vehicle only, on going problem with this vehicle, should have a recall.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

Over a period of about 2 years, I would have acceleration problems both while on the highway, hills or after coming to a complete stop. At first it was annoying and a few second long problem but it got progressively worse and more dangerous. I had at least 3-4 times while traveling on highway where I completely lost the ability to accelerate even to pull off to a safe location. It was like a stall happened. It has happened while turning into traffic to make simple turns as well as leaving traffic lights. In November, I replaced my transmission but I believe Nissan is well aware of these problems and are putting consumers at great risk. Even after the replacement of my transmission (after hearing Nissan extended the warranty to 120,000 miles) I still had problems with acceleration. Now 6 months later I have started to have what I consider dangerous effects. There is as much as a 5 second delay between hitting the accelerator and the engine engaging to meet the transmission. I had my children in the car today and both on the street and highway I am losing the ability to pick up speed even while on the highway. I won't allow my other family members to drive my car and plant otake it Nissan this week. I do ask that the ntsb or the agency address these concerns with Nissan. I know they are rampant with the cars with cvt transmissions. I believe I am in danger in this vehicle and I fully believe Nissan is aware of it.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2014

Was returning from trip north carolina back home to tennessee once about hour away felt car just start slowing down car wouldn't accelerate when pushing on gas. Was able to get to right hand lane and get off interstate just before car went to a crawl. Car was making whining noise while trying to move car from highway. Car came to stop and unable to move again. Had car towed back to my house sent to shop to find out that transmission had malfunctioned. Doing research on transmission found out the Nissan rouge is using cvt transmission and that Nissan extended the warranty to 120k or 10 years. My reasearch also found out that other Nissan owners of Rogue and murranos were having issues with cvt transmission. When I found out that about the warranty I called Nissan consumer care to inquire about this. I was told my model and make qualified under warranty and that mileage didn't matter. Nissan decided not to assist me with repair and replacement of transmission. I tried to tell Nissan about letter that stated they would decrease cost even above 120k. They refused to do so. I had no warning sensors that there was problem with transmission. This could have been a bad accident if the transmission had of went out during heavy traffic. It appears reading about other owners experiences with cvt transmissions that Nissan doesn't want to own up to having a faulty transmission. Even speaking with mechanics from outside and with Nissan that this transmission is faulty and many have issues and complainants about it.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2014

My car's "check engine soon" signal came on and when I got it checked out I was told that I have a faulty fuel level sensor. After some research online it's apparent that this is a problem with the make and model. I would like to put in a complaint so that we could request recall action on this issue as it's a common issue happening to a lot of Nissan Rogue consumers.

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2014

We noticed a problem with the gas gauge a few months ago and last week the service engine light came on. I called our mechanic and he had said there was a notice that came up about the fuel sending unit not reading correctly on another year Rogue. I asked if we can bring it in and he said he would check to see if there is a recall on this problem. I looked on this site after reading several Nissan forums and found that this is a persistent problem with Rogues. This should be a recall item if so many Rogues have this problem with the fuel sending unit and so many mechanics know about it. Especially the 2008. This problem starts as soon as you start up the car. Before it would start working correctly but now the low fuel light comes on and it stays at e or slightly above all the time.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2013

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2013

The car experienced extreme deceleration on the highway. I was unable to accelerate in a minimum 45 mile per hour highway (in puerto rico) when car decelerated and was unable to go more than 5 miles per hour after decelerating for a toll. As I changed lanes to get to the shoulder, I almost caused what could have been a fatal accident of myseld and my infant daughter. I pulled over to the shoulder and shut the car off. I was in the middle of the island and could not afford a tow truck. I waited for two hours and tried starting the car again to see if I could continue. The car seemed back to normal and I made it home. The extreme acceleration has happend to me 2 other times and I cannot afford another vehicle. I recently researched this issue and there is a wide array of people having similar issues and similar experiances and close calls with vehicular accidents. Since the first incident, the car now has 130k miles and does not qualify for the extended warranty. I am an active duty member stationed overseas in puerto rico and did not recieve notification that a warranty was extended. Please help me effect a Nissan recall in cvt engines in the select models mentioned in their consumer affars website. Thank you for your time.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2013

This is one of several similar incidents. I was on a road trip to nyc, driving on the highway with the cruise control on at 73 mph. In all incidents, I noticed that after having the cruise on for over an hour, all of a sudden the cruise would just "kick off". It would stop working. And my car would start to decelerate. Being on a main highway, traveling 73 mph with everyone around me going equally as fast, if not faster, and then all of a sudden decelerating was like putting on the brakes with no brake lights. It was positively dangerous and scary. To make matters worse, after it got down to between 60 and 65, it would not accelerate. I put my foot to the floor and there was no acceleration. I got into the right hand lane as quickly as I could, and prayed the entire time to not be killed. After about 5 minutes, I was able to accelerate up to 70. But the cruise would just kick off as soon as I set it again. Maddening, dangerous and scary. And it happened more than once. Exactly the same way each time. And only after being in the car with cruise on for over an hour.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2013

The vehicle lost all acceleration once it reaches a certain heat within the transmission, causing my car to decelerate rapidly with no option to accelerate to get out of harm's way. It has now occured twice, putting myself and passengers in imminent danger. Nissan has said they are aware of the problem.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2013

My 2008 Nissan Rogue has a tendency to lose power on the highway after being driven for over a long period of time at a constant speed, usually about 45 minutes to an hour at 75 miles an hour. The vehicle will start my making a weird whistling or whining noise then after that you cannot accelerate it'll be stuck at whatever speed your going. When I come across a bridge or a hill it'll slow down a bit then accelerate once I'm going downhill then stop at a specific mph, no matter how much I press on the gas it will not go any further. When I off the highway and come to a complete stop and try to take off again it will not respond right away then it will take off with me as I'm pressing the gas, almost resulting in me running into other vehicles several times. When I take the vehicle to Nissan it doesn't give any error codes or show that anything is wrong. Nissan cannot replicate the problem because the're not willing to pay someone to go drive the vehicle for over that long period of time. I commute to work and church on the highway five times a week and experience this just about every single day. I did however take the car to my local mechanic and he experience what the car is doing and he noticed Nissan put too much fluid in my transmission when they replaced it after it stopped on me previously on the highway, that did solve the problem for several months but now it's doing the same thing again. I called Nissan corporate they inform me there's no recall on the vehicle. I did a internet search and there are so many people with the same story and was even covered by the news station. One other thing they all have in common is that no one had that issue fix or know what is causing the problem. I recently rent a vehicle because I refuse to let my wife and one year old in the car by themselves.

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2012

Fuel sending unit is faulty. Cannot get any idea of fuel level in the vehicle. Only 45000 miles on the car. Nissan has recalled this for the frontier and pathfinder, so it is a known issue with their vehicles, but the deal is charging ~$500 to fix it.
