1 Transfer Case problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2016

I was hearing & feeling a noise when accelerating and decelerating so I took my car in to the Nissan dealers service center to see what was going on. They stated that my transmission and transfer case needed to be replaced. Nissan has extended the transmission warranty to 120k miles but doesn't back the transfer case or anything else that relates to this know issue. They should be held liable for all issues concerning this matter.

2 Transfer Case problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2016

Roar and grinding noise under car believe to be transmission / transfer case or both. Drive good shifts good runs good. Believe if something locks up in this , it could cause a accident by coming apart. Checking it out found lots of other with same problem. If they know of the design problem look like they could correct or replace bad parts. Look like Nissan did not care about it or if it could cause an accidend and put out a bad design anyway. With all the complains on the web, looks like Nissan just pushing it to the back and waiting on time to go by. This has been going on for about a year and half. Just think it wrong!.

3 Transfer Case problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2008

I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue (all wheel drive). It has a loud noise (grinding/clunking) sound at slow speed. I'm told by the dealer that they have another one that is doing the same and they don't have an answer. Nissan states that they are looking into it, don't know what it is, but that the vehicle is safe to drive. . . . . If they don't know what it is how can they say that it's safe to drive? to me it sounds like it's either the transmission or transfer case.

4 Transfer Case problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2008

Within 1 month of taking delivery of a 2008 Nissan Rogue sl awd, we started hearing a faint rattle that was intermittent from the front end at approx. 1000 mi. When the noise became more regular and louder, took it to Nissan to have them check it out. Tech's heard the noise on 2nd trip there, but said Nissan was aware of a problem but there was no fix as of yet and will let us know when there was a fix. Two months later, no word from the dealer, we took it to another dealer and was told there they had experienced it and replaced a transmission for another Rogue. They kept it for nearly 3 weeks and only replaced a transfer case--it turns out the transfer case only echoed the noise from the cvt/transmission. Was told by the dealer that Nissan requested them to return the car back to us with so-called added comfort that "it is safe to drive until they find a fix because there haven't been any reported failures". Noise is still there, and seems even louder than before. "rattle noise" is heard when foot is lifted off gas pedal at slow speeds below 35-40 mph. Current mileage: 6350.

5 Transfer Case problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2007

Car without warning lost drive and forward speed on highway. The vehicle was a safety concern because it could have been rear ended from car behind. Car leaked transmission fluid ( hazard material on street ) . Replaced transmission and transfer case. Axle seal was damaged at time of assembly and lost all fluid at 1200 miles. Car had bucked 3 times before.
