1 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2020

On 7/31/2020, traveling from ft. Lauderdale to sarasota, florida, on I-95, (alligator alley) around 1 hr in after turning on cruise control, (90+ outside temps), cruising at around 82 mph . . . Car suddenly decelerated to -60 mph and, pedal to the metal, would not accelerate, continued to slow down. I pulled into a rest stop, turned it off for 20 minutes, then restarted it and used my fixd device and app. It brought up code p0744, "torque converter clutch circuit intermittent". It ran ok for the rest of the trip and the return trip but acceleration was sluggish. On 9/3/2020, same trip, same road, same 90+ temps outside, on I-95, (alligator alley), a little over 1 hour in, no cruise control this time, car did the same exact thing: decelerated from 82 to -60 mph. I pulled into a rest stop, turned it off for a half hour, re-started it, ran the fixd app again, but this time it said "no errors", and threw no codes. Both times car was ok after being off awhile. No problems on return trip . . . But in general, acceleration is sluggish. I stopped by the dealer and the service representative said they could put the computer on it for $139 but probably couldn't diagnose it unless it was happening or some codes were stored, which was doubtful I said no thanks. This is a very dangerous problem! there are over 200 complaints about this issue/problem for this year alone, but it appears that all Rogues seem to have complaints about this exact issue of deceleration and the manufacturer acts as if it doesn't exist. Some have had to replace the transmission, some have added transmission coolers with no improvement. I've owned dozens of vehicles and have never encountered this problem before. In mid pandemic with only my ss check as income I don't know what to do. I need to drive up to NY and MA and need a safe, reliable car!.

2 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2017

I was on the thruway/highway and my rpms got higher and higher, even though my cruise control was on. Engine was revving up, and suddenly lost power to the car, even though the gas pedal was to the ground. Thankfully, traffic was slow and I was lucky. I pulled over and called geico for a tow truck.

3 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2016

After being on the highway for about an hour, the car will no longer accelerate. It will hold a constant speed but will not increase. If speed drops it will not increase beyond the current speed. Cruise control kicks off. No check engine light or over heating. Mechanic could not diagnose.

4 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2015

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. While driving at 70 mph with the cruise control activated, the vehicle failed to accelerate up a hill. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. The VIN was not available.

5 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2014

Twice now, last August 2014 and June 2015, traveling on highway with cruise control on around 70 mph, vehicle decelerates on its own. Gas pedal to the floor, but still losing speed. Had to get to next exit and turn vehicle off for few minutes before proceeding. Second time it happened, took to Nissan dealer. Could not replicate problem but recommended a transmission cooling unit be installed at cost of about $1300, with no guarantee this will fix problem. Mileage first time it happened was 58,600. Second time around 74,000 miles. Nissan cvt warranty extension does not include 2011 models. Ends with 2010 vehicles, although this vehicle is experiencing same problem as previous years models.

6 Cruise Control problem
