Subject: urgent safety issue: car doors locking while in park and running date: [xxx] to whom it may concern, I am writing to report a serious safety concern I experienced today with my vehicle. While my car was parked in my driveway and running, the doors automatically locked, locking me out of the vehicle. There is no auto-lock button enabled in the car or on my remote, and due to a previously replaced battery, the key fob no longer functions properly—I must manually insert the key into the ignition. This is extremely concerning because the vehicle should not automatically lock while it is running and in park. Had I not had a spare key available, I would have been completely locked out of my running vehicle. This is a manufacturer safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I cannot risk being locked out of my car in a different location or under more critical circumstances. I am requesting a thorough inspection and resolution of this malfunction to ensure it does not happen again. Please advise on the next steps to get this fixed as soon as possible. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] Nissan, Rogue, 2011 [VIN [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
When it rains, water leaks down on my left foot when I'm driving. Etc. Catalytic converter issues.
The vehicle shakes when I accelerate or go on reverse, I've been told is the transmission, that is causing the problem .
The cvt transmission would over heat numerous times on long trips. This would slow me down in traffic or going up hills. Also, when exiting a freeway and stopping merging into traffic was dangerous on numerous occasions due to now coming from the transmission. The Nissan cvt has been recalled, been subject to numerous lawsuits. In fact Nissan has extended the warranty on the Rogue transmission up to the year 2010 and from 2012 but has continuously ignored the 2011 Rogue. I just recently had to have the transmission rebuilt on my 2011 Rogue. If I had known about this earlier I could have taken preventative measures.
While driving on a highway, the car caught fire under the hood near the driver's side headlight. The headlight was replaced the day before the incident. The headlight worked when installed but was not working by the next evening. The driver's side headlights have needed replacing more often than the passenger headlight (a 3:1 ratio or a 4:1 ratio). That ratio may indicate an electrical problem. Headlight bulb was a napa bp1255/h11ll-n. Our car took an h11 bulb. The ll stands for long life.
Blower motor stopped working.
Driving home on the night of July 4th 2020 I experienced my SUV beginning to struggle in accelerating while I was in motion of driving my vehicle. I had to try my best to get off the main highway and on to the side. I pulled my SUV over to the side and started it back up to see the problem and I notice the engine revs but vehicle does not accelerate as it should. I got my vehicle towed and I havent been able to drive it since the situation. I believe it has something to do with the transmission.
The cvt is slipping from 1st gear to 2nd gear and also goes in "limp mode". The rpm's rev up to 6 and the speed is only at 40mph. There is some whinning noise also.
Driving down the high way the car 2011 Nissan Rogue awd loses power gave it acceleration gas nothing happened finally pulled over to the shoulder and got it home, started the car up hesitating to rev up shifted in gear no movement all I could here was a sound of a gear rubbing could be inside the transmission and now I got it towed again to the mechanic to find out what could be next just lucky no other car came and hit my car which could have been another disaster.
Bad transmission.
Daughter purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue. Person you purchased from not answering phone. It has a faulty sensor and transmission went out. She is a single mother trying to raise her daughter and go to school and work. She needs this car working to the best of ability. It is at a Toyota dealer in norwalk California. Please help. Joe 714-615-8704. Sensors won't let her smog. Transmission very expensive. We are currently looking into junk yards for usued ones but no guarantee it will last. Thank you joe morales. Step father of cassandra barrera. Her Nissan versa was totaled when parked at work insurance gave her money. She bought another Nissan and bad luck from their.
After stopping at stop signs or lights a super slow jerky take off. Also jerks and loses speed when going up hill. Had shut completely off on me at stop lights 3different times.
As the car picks up spped it looses power . You can only go 20 miles an hour or less. If you let the car cool down it will pick up speed but 15 minutes later the same thing continues to occure. .
My vehicle gets water on the driver's side floor, up to an inch and causes electrical issues. Nissan stated they fixed the issue but did not deal my vehicle and it's not their problem after the first fix. Water is there when driving, parked or any time the road is wet or raining.
Nissan north America, inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured March 7, 2007, to November 26, 2013, and 2014 Nissan Rogue select vehicles manufactured September 23, 2013, to July 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector.
Floors seem to be wet now windows always fogged or condensated ? cant drive un til dry. After its parked windows just fog up I have to bring paper towels !.
While my son and I were driving up in the hills my Nissan Rogue 2011 awd stalled and started to roll backwards cars were honking son put on flashers and had gas pedal to floor it had no power whats so ever. Finally got into a parking lot trying to get some power. Suddenly it started to work again. This was a very dangerous situation and Nissan knows about it and should not put peoples lives at stake like this. Something needs to be done about it. Thank you very reading.
2011 Nissan Rogue cvt transmission is defective. For Nissan it is a know issue and Nissan extended warranty and doubled the warranty period for the cvt transmission for 2008-2010 Nissan Rogue models and powertrain warranty coverage of 5 years/60,000 miles was extended at no cost, for cvt repairs, replacements or related towing, up to 10 years/120,000 miles (whichever comes first). My 2011 Nissan Rogue cvt transmission is also defective and the current mileage is only 46682 and Nissan has to extend and cover the cost of replacement. I paid diagnostic charges at Nissan dealer at horsheads, NY and dealer gave estimate of $4000 to replace transmission. I opened a case with nisan, case #29665859 and towed my vehicle to priority Nissan dealer at chantilly, va near my home based on conversation with case manager. Now they are asking to pay again diagnostic charges, I believe all technicians are trained by Nissan because both are Nissan dealers and this is totally unfair asking customer to pay again for the same diagnostic twice. I also sent diagnostic papers to case manager and priority Nissan, chantilly dealer. Both case manager and chantilly Nissan dealer saying without paying diagnostic charges they are to going to take any action. Apparently the cvt transmission was defective on 2011 models also and Nissan is now indicating to me that although the older model year cars were given an extended warranty for the faulty cvt transmission but my car is not covered and case manage is they need diagnostic report again from this chantilly dealer to review my case but asking to pay again the charges and this is totally not fair.
Drive side door won't open from inside or outside in really cold weather. Seen there was recalls on this on other years but not a 2011. This has happened to me for the third year now.
Driving at 65 miles a hour on the highway and car lost all power in the drive train could not get it back to speed as a truck going the same speed was on my bumper after loosing power luckily I was able to get over off the highway. My car has 90000 miles on it and I do not feel that my transmission should of went bad I see that there is a lot of complaints on the 2008-2010 Nissan rouge for the same issue as the 2011 rouges, called Nissan and was told that I do. It have an extended warranty so there was nothing they could do. I just hope that it does not take a serious accident to happen before Nissan fixes the problem. Not a happy customer right now and I still owe 2 years on this car and only had it for 3 years.
The shift lever stuck in parking position and I couldn't move to rear or driving position. I spoke with dealer and helped me to remove the shift lock and suggested me to take it to dealer the next day I took it to the dealer and the couldn't find the problem but suggested to change shift lever and I agreed to change the lever and I am waiting for the replacement. My car battery was checked and no problem identified with that I am worried this problem might be involved with electrical system and might affect other cars too.
On Sunday(12/3/17), I drove home from church, parked my car in front of my house and entered my house for less than ten minutes prior to my neighbor knocking on my door to notify me that my Nissan Rogue was engulfed in flames. I had no suspicion that anything was wrong with my vehicle to cause a fire. One block from my house I was pulled over by a cop, who notified me that she saw one of my headlights go out. There was no sound, light or smell that would have indicated a problem with my vehicle. I am grateful for being in my house at the start of the fire. I had no aftermarket upgrades done to my vehicle and it was regularly taken in for oil changes and to have tire maintenance. My concern is another Nissan Rogue owner will not be as lucky as I was and instead will be driving at the time of an engine fire.
Electicals problemes alarms go off floors seem to be wet ?.
Took my car in for a leak and the right front axle is leaking. It has already been sealed once and is leaking again.
We purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue at the end of 2010, and it was a good car in the beginning, however, I started to notice small things here and there that weren't that great. But they would come and go. Then one day I opened the left rear door handle, and it broke off!! it looked like a cheap piece of plastic you see at the dollar store. I took it to Nissan and they wanted $550!!! ridiculous! I found a good honest mechanic place and they even reduced the cost since it only took them 15 mins to replace it! only costed me $80! so now and again it has also been losing rpms and having difficulty speeding up. My husband was driving from work and on the freeway, and the rpms stopped at 4000 and froze. I wouldn't go over 60mph! he was scared and pulled over to the side of the road. He checked the oil (it was perfect), the inside and saw nothing. He said he smelt a fire type smell while in the inside of the car, but no fires. He slowly got over and pulled off of the freeway and into a car place to have it looked at. I called Nissan as the technician stated that there was a recall on the nisan Rogue. I called Nissan and they stated that it was the 2010 Rogue. Mine is the 2011 Rogue which was purchased at the end of 2010. So I am suppose to believe that they somehow put a better cvt transmission in my Rogue which is not that far off from the 2010 that has an extended warranty and recall on it?? hardly, I have seen many many other complaints from people about this vehicle and exact year. I've even called about our Rogue a few times when I've heard about recalls, but they've always told me it's only 2010 and my car should be fine. Obviously it's not fine, and the car is crap. Nissan should stand by their products , and they are not . They will continue to lose good customers that are hard working americans who pay their bills.
I drive to san antonio from el paso and back it happened both ways. We were going up an incline and I was trying to accelerate, I got not response from the gas pedal. Nothing at all, besides a slight acceleration until we pulled off the road. I could push the pedal to the floor with little to no response, and mostly no response. I turn the car off for a few minutes, started it up, and we were somewhat back to normal. It accelerated, but didn't have power behind it. It took much more to get to 80mph, or even 60 mph then a few miles more it started all over again and it was very dangerous because I had trailers and cars that had to go around me right away lucky for all of us there was not much traffic so they were able to change lane fast if not they would have crashed into me cousin a big or even fatal accident.
Exploding sunroof. As I was driving down a busy highway, I heard a loud explosion from the top if my vehicle. I then heard little shatters, of what I know now, was tempered glass falling on my sunroof shade. When it was safe, I pulled over and there was a huge while in the middle of my sunroof.
Yesterday I was driving to work in the city took a left hand turn onto a busy street beside the highway and all of a sudden my steering wheel took control and pulled the wheel to the right I nearly crashed into a guard rail. I pulled the wheel back to the left and was absolutely freaked out by what had happened. Last evening all of a sudden I turn my car off go into a store come out an hour later and nothing at all when I turned the ignition key. No lights no dash lights no noise at all is was as if battery was completely dead. New battery installed 4 months ago. I thought I may have left something on and caused the battery to drain, however, a few minutes later the car dashboard lights up on its own with the key still in the ignition but not turned on to the start position. I turned the key and the car started. This morning I went to leave for work, same thing car absolutely dead. I checked under hood, thought perhaps loose cables to the battery. I checked and saw no loose cables I wiped around the area with a paper towel got back in car turned key and the car started. I drive to work in boston park the car in my employee parking garage and get out of the car and went to automatically lock the doors and nothing. No security light on inside of the car, totally dead again! I'm wondering if this is an issue with many other Nissan's as I read online many complaints of this same issue. Has there been a recall for this issue? what is the issue? I need to get this resolved please. I can't have a vehicle that is undependable especially when I am making car payments on this vehicle every month. It is rather scary that this may be an electrical or steering issue for safety reasons. The car went out of control on its own yesterday.
I was at the stop sign attempting to make a right turn from a bank parking lot, when the car started to accelerate to the left with great speed towards a major highway just a few feet away. I turned my wheel to the left so to avoid getting on the highway and be hit by traffic. My car went over the metal fence , then over a hill and ended up on top of another set of new cars at the Nissan dealership. Both side airbags deployed. The car is totaled. The car totally lost control. . . . At this time I do not have pictures or a police report available.
While driving on highway vehicle losses power and won't accelerate. Without warning losse power, even with accelator pedal would barely move. After letting car sit, vehicle acts normal until it happens again. It is very dangerous and almost caused an accident. Just picture you and other cars driving over 60 on the expressway and your car randomly just stop and wont move. I see many owners of nissn Rogue experience the same problem. Can anything be done about this issue by the manyfacturer?.
Cvt transmission failure with 72,000 miles. While driving on highway vehicle losses power and won't accelerate. It is very dangerous and almost caused an accident. After letting car sit and cool, vehicle acts normal until it happens again.
The car lost power. I push on the accelator and nothing would happen. This usually happens when I have been driving around dor more than an hour. It was very scary. Lots of cars coming at me and I could not get my car to accelarate. After a few minutes it started to accelerate and it went back to normal. I have had this happen 4 times. Try calling Nissan but no answers. Nobody seems to know why my vehicle is doing this.
I started my vehicle on the morning of the 19th and I did hear a strange noise coming from the front. It was the first time I had heard that noise before and had to take my 7 year old to an appointment. We got a few miles from our home and as we were going up a steep hill the car came to a complete stop in the middle of the roadway and would not go any further. This could have caused serious injury to myself or my child in the car as the car stopped and would not move. There were no warning signs or issues prior to this and the car is only 4 years old. I had the car taken to the closest mechanic and was told there are serious transmission problems. The mechanic suggested contacting the dealer to see if there was a recall but the dealer says there is no recall on this.
My 2011 Nissan Rogue was new when I purchased it. On July 15, 2015, while driving at 50 mph, the car suddenly started vibrating violently with a loud noise and stopped suddenly in the middle of traffic without warning! I had 3 kids in the car and we could've been seriously hurt! I could shift it into gear but it wouldn't accelerate or move. A diagnostic discovered it's the transmission as suspected. I have 118k highway miles on it and have been getting regular and scheduled oil changes and maintenance. Nissan is aware of the problem since I made a claim to Nissansupport. They would not acknowledge or take responsibility for the poor transmission problem and stated that it was beyond the warranty. What does it take for Nissan to take responsibility for endangering lives? the death of a wife, husband, mother, father, sister, brother. . . A child?.
2011 Nissan Rogue slows and stops suddenly in traffic while driving at 50 mph in center lane. No warning. Would not accelerate or move. Transmission! thank god other cars swerved to avoid me and the 3 kids in the car were not hurt! it's going to take $4000 to replace the transmission. Nissan's extended warranty (10yrs or 120,000 miles) ended with their 2010 vehicles. It needs to be extended to 2011 vehicles or any with cvt transmission problems because they haven't fixed the problem! or Nissan needs to recall such vehicles. Prevent a loved one from dying!.
