Request for recall coverage – 2013 Nissan Rogue select airbag issue dear sir, I am the original owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue select. Recently, I became aware of a recall issued by Nissan north America for certain 2013–2014 Rogue select vehicles due to an electrical short in the harness connector. This issue is caused by snow/water and salt seeping through the driver's side floor carpet, resulting in the flickering of the driver-side airbag warning light. My vehicle is experiencing the exact symptoms described in the recall notice. However, when I contacted both the Nissan dealership and Nissan north America, I was informed that my vehicle is not included in the affected recall list—even though it is the same model and year, and shows the exact defect identified in the recall. As a senior citizen, I am deeply concerned about the functionality of the airbag system in my vehicle. I rely on the safety features of my car, and I hope that, if ever needed, the airbag would deploy as intended. I respectfully hope that Nissan reevaluates my case and includes my vehicle in the recall repair program, as the issue clearly aligns with the known defect. Thank you for your attention and assistance in this matter. I look forward to your response.
During a rear end accident on the highway when someone slammed on their brakes, I hit them at around 40 mph and slamming on my brakes to prevent it and the airbags did not deploy. The light was on the dashboard after the accident as if they did the deploy, the seatbelt blew out and will no longer retract. The front frame of the vehicle bent inwards at a 90 degrees angle puncturing the ac compressor, though the bumper has minimal damage. Ma state troopers noted that damage and allowed me to drive off since "the vehicle is not over heating or leaking", a body shop then said my car is totaled. My insurance company is investigating why/how the frame obtained extensive damage though the outer body is not as damaged. The vehicle has been parked since the accident and is available for inspection. My safety was at risk with a significant crash and the airbags not deploying, the seatbelt injured me, I am under medical treatment for injuries obtained after this accident. I have a police report, I have an insurance claim, I believe this needs to be further investigated. My vehicle was bought used in 2017 from a Nissan dealership, it has never been in an accident with me as the owner, but my insurance company found an unreported accident from 2014 which could relate to the airbags not deploying and the frame bending so significantly from a rear end accident.
Air bag warning light blinks 1 long and 5 short blinks. Scan shows code of b1018-00 which is passenger seat occupation seat sensor failure meaning even if seat is occupied, air bag will not deploy. Nissan has no coverage for this but earlier and later models did have recall coverage with only the 2013 year not recalled or just ignored. Let's get this handled please.
Airbag light continuously blinks on dashboard, I took it into my local dealer and they said it is due to the passenger seat airbag sensor failure. This was not caused by user error, but I feel is a defect in the vehicle itself.
The passenger seat sensor does not work anymore. So the passenger side airbag does not register anyone in the seat and is always turned off. The passenger side air bag will not fire if there is a crash. Confirmed by mechanic, the sensor failed and need to replace the entire seat to make it work. The light is showing that the airbag is off even when someone sits in the seat. Not sure how long ago this started.
Air bag light is on. Nissan dealer wants $800 to repair.
I have a 2013 Nissan rouge. If the car is outside, every time it rains, it floods the driver's side. Which eventually resulted in some electrical malfunction and the driver's side airbag malfunction light. Last year, I noticed that I kept the car outside and not in the garage. I found there is a recall on that. The same issue. But when I called Nissan, they told me that my particular car was not included in that recall. Even when the issue is the same? I am not sure why and to whom to complain. [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the air bag warning light was flashing. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the failure was due to a fault with the air bag. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 202,878.
Airbag constantly flashing. . Purchased vehicle a week ago and dealership will not fix issue. This 2013 should've been included with airbag defect.
The icon light with the picture of person in car seat with airbag is constantly flashing.
1) air bag light on indicating it doesnt work 2) horn sounding continusly, activate on a left wheel turn 3) cruise control doesnt work but is active in the screen panel 4) radio start automatocally increasing volume continiously driving me crazy.
Recently the air bag light on dashboard continually flashing. No collision. They do not turn off. I cannot reset.
Driver’s side airbag warning, airbag not functional. Airbag function alert light (flashing) came on with every vehicle start, and continues during car operation. There have been no impacts, dash services or events since car was new, that might cause alert. Dealer says defective parts in airbag harness and sensor need to be replaced, at our cost.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that in 2018 while driving and attempting to make a left turn, the steering wheel lost connection with the driver’s side air bag. The warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the faulty spiral cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact then stated that upon starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the crash zone sensor and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.
Airbag light flashing on and off, code b1054 shows driver airbag module(open).
My 2013 Rogue air bag light started flashing randomly. This truck hasn't been in an accident. The other issue is with the transmission. I had previously experienced issues with the speed not accelerating when it heats up. Now my transmission light came on and it makes a wining noise. I was on the road and it started acting up not picking up speed. I was on a 70 highway and had to pull over wait for half an hour. Only difference is now my transmission light came on. It has 89k miles.
The airbag light is flashing on off in a repeat pattern continuously. Mileage is about 75,000. Attempts to reset it using the key switch on-off method have not been successful. I see other owners have filed complaints of similar nature. Taking it to dealer for evaluation and subsequent repair if any. However wanted to report the problem in case this is a widespread occurrence with other owners also.
My driver's side air bag warning light came on yesterday (Jan 5th, 2021). To be specific, it flashes on and off constantly while the engine is running. The dealer 'reset' the light and it stopped flashing. But after driving the car for about an hour, the flashing light has returned and will not stop. The dealer informs me that I will need to replace 2 parts (a cable and a control unit I believe). Total parts and labor will be $2200 dollars plus tax. Isn't an airbag something that should last for the life of the car? my car has 127,000 miles on it and I have owned it since 2018. To my knowledge, it has never been in an accident.
The airbag light recently turned on and Nissan declined repairs or assistance with repairs.
Airbag lights randomly came on. I had to look up how to turn it off from youtube and it worked. The transmission slips when hot meaning when I am stopped at a stop light and I go to push on the gas, first gear doesn’t kick in and I cannot operate for 5 seconds then it punches into place. If I am driving nonstop on the highway, the gears will go into over drive or won’t shift over and stay at max 3000rpm so I can only go about 45mph at that time. Everything appears fine until an hour or so into driving. The transmission fluid looks brown and because it’s a cvt transmission, the whole thing would have to be replaced. My dad works on cars and I also had called shops all around my area to simply get a fluid flush. Nissan has recalled their cvt transmission for this year and model in the past. There are no current claims for this year, however I’ve had the vehicle for a year and a half. Because I had my vehicle refinanced, I had lost all warranty benefits, even though I still qualify within that time and miles range.
The airbag light recently turned on for no apparent reason, I m concerned for my safety and I believe, due to the safety aspect alone this should be fix for the dealer, but marlboro. Ma dealer declined the repairs.
My seatbelt warning light stays on flashing even when seatbelts are in use I’m afraid airbags will go off at any time.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while entering and starting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the air bag warning light was illuminated and continuously blinking. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle and could not determine the cause of the failure. The dealer recommended that the spiral cable in the air bag be replaced. The contact was not able to do the replacement on the vehicle due to the cost. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,003.
Our 2013 Nissan Rogue seatbelt light flashes for no apparent reason. This seems to be a problem that has never been resolved by the manufacturer. It also seems that it is a well documented situation. Nissan should be made to research and give a definite fix without the customer suffering trial and error repairs.
Air bags driver side steering wheel does not work and the light is on. States it is not functioning must see dealer.
Recalls for model years of 2014-2016 as well as 2013 sentras due to passenger air bag sensor malfunction. Recall states the the sensor doesn’t detect when passenger is in seat and will not deploy in event of accident. Drive a 2013 Rogue sv with same exact issue as described in recall for other vehicles but 2013 model year not included in recall when this is a prevelant issue with Nissan among many makes and models and for many years. Very hazardous to have a passenger in vehicle and air bags keep saying they are turned off. Big safety issue and don’t understand how Nissan is not including 2013 Rogue in airbag recall when it has the same exact issue that is stated in recall but instead of fixing their major safety defect that could put many children , adults , elderly in a deadly situation. They decide to not include Rogue from 2013 and instead are trying to charge over 1000 to replace the seat to fix their sensor defect. Please investigate as I’m certain there are many other Rogue with the same issue as what has been diagnosed by Nissan was this exact problem they recalled for other model years and are fixing but yet want to charge when this is a dangerous known issue from Nissan across several makes and model years as well as generations.
The airbag light on the console has been flashing for some time. I took it into the dealership, and they first replaced the airbag module. That has not resolved the flashing light so now they want to replace the clock spring. I am concerned that since the 2014 model has recalls concerning airbags, the 2013 might also have problems that fall under a recall category. I do have repair receipts, should you need additional information.
The driver airbag needs to be replaced and has never been used.
When I accelerate I hear a wiring shortage of sorts. The horn blows and there's a hesitation in accelerating.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the airbag clockspring was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as normal. The failure recurred on several occasions with the cruise control activated. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.
Hi there, question. I own a 2013 Nissan Rogue and the passenger side airbag will not work because the sensor on the passenger seat is not working. So when a person seats on the passenger seat, the airbag is not active. I have contacted Nissan and they have informed me that the part is no longer available. I am sure I am not the only person who has this issue. How can I report this so that Nissan can take action on fixing this issue? thanking you in advance. James@convergecreative. Com.
3 of the 4 door handles are broken and have stopped working. Airbag light on headlight not working wiring bad.
Safety issue in passenger seat airbag, continuing/multiple occurrences. “passenger airbag off” warning has been coming on at every startup, with a passenger in seat. Have to stop, turn ignition off & back on, and usually resets after 7 second wait. No amount of waiting resets it. Dealer said switch in seat is defective, requires seat replacement at our cost, yet problem is most likely notp in seat, is in controller, as evidenced by ability to reset via ignition).
2013 Nissan Rogue. Consumer writes in regards to reimbursement for air bag replacement.
During small front collision at 15 mph side passenger side deployed with no passenger or hit from that side.
