The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 5-10 mph, the air bag safety warning light became illuminated. The contact stated that the passenger’s side air bag warning light was flashing on and off. The contact stated that the air bag sensor failed to operate as designed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and transferred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.
