general problems of the 2013 Nissan Rogue - part 1

I was driving down interstate 40 at 75 miles an hour and my car just quit in traffic. Luckily I was able to pull over to the side of the road and set for about 10 minutes and my car started back up and I made it about 30 more miles and it quit again and I waited 10 minutes and it starts up again. That’s very dangerous in traffic.

Request for recall coverage – 2013 Nissan Rogue select airbag issue dear sir, I am the original owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue select. Recently, I became aware of a recall issued by Nissan north America for certain 2013–2014 Rogue select vehicles due to an electrical short in the harness connector. This issue is caused by snow/water and salt seeping through the driver's side floor carpet, resulting in the flickering of the driver-side airbag warning light. My vehicle is experiencing the exact symptoms described in the recall notice. However, when I contacted both the Nissan dealership and Nissan north America, I was informed that my vehicle is not included in the affected recall list—even though it is the same model and year, and shows the exact defect identified in the recall. As a senior citizen, I am deeply concerned about the functionality of the airbag system in my vehicle. I rely on the safety features of my car, and I hope that, if ever needed, the airbag would deploy as intended. I respectfully hope that Nissan reevaluates my case and includes my vehicle in the recall repair program, as the issue clearly aligns with the known defect. Unknown what failed but my car was set on fire today. Whole dash was completely burnt.

#1 I have been completely affected by the known defect in the Nissan transmissions with the first instance being my on the interstate, 4 hours from home with my child only, and we lost power while driving the interstate. The losing power issue has happened multiple times over the last 5 years and all that I can find online is that Nissan is aware and owners can buy something and have it added to the transmission. . . . If we purchased the vehicle I think Nissan should at least be responsible for the issues with something that they are aware is an issue with the products they sell. I am now putting oil in the car every few weeks because of a leak that there is no explanation of how it happened and will cost a fortune to fix; and most recently I came out of work and when I went to get in my car the handle came off in my hand. I've researched and apparently this too is an issue with Nissan Rogues. . . . . . Everytime I search for a recall there is nothing for the 2013 Rogue but there are for the ones years prior and after??? whoever thinks that the perfect line came out in 2013 needs reevaluate their information!!!!.

I have a 2013 Nissan rouge. If the car is outside, every time it rains, it floods the driver's side. Which eventually resulted in some electrical malfunction and the driver's side airbag malfunction light. Last year, I noticed that I kept the car outside and not in the garage. I found there is a recall on that. The same issue. But when I called Nissan, they told me that my particular car was not included in that recall. Even when the issue is the same? My 2013 Nissan Rogue that we purchased in November keeps going into limp mode. It has happened several times. We’ve taken it to different shops and they all say it has a defective cvt transmission. It does not pull any codes and does not show that it’s overheating. It does make it dangerous for us and other cars on the road since it will happen on the freeway or as we are making a turn. We have been put in danger several times now. I can find several other years with the recall already. This problem is extremely dangerous when it all of a sudden doesn’t want to go or reduces speeds.

While driving, alarm on car just started horn blowing and all hazzard lights began to flash. This happened on a second occasion that after parking car, the alarms and lights went off when door was opened to get out. The third occurrence lights and horn began blowing while parked. Was unable to get it to stop drove it home with all horns and lights flashing. On the first occurrence the sudden blowing, non stop of horn and all hazard lights flashing startled me, the driver, and I frantically searched for a place to pull over it took over 15 minutes before it stopped flashing and blowing. Each episode was sudden and unexpected. No buttons keys etc had been touched during these episodes, except the opening of the door during 1 previously mentioned time. I do not know if it is an electrical issue or component issue. But car definitely is being taken to the shop, which leaves me hunting transportation until something can be figured out. I had a disabled individual in the care with me that caused a fear and anxiety with him. He was riding in the back seat.

The car driver side window door leaks water into the driver side floor near where the legs go. The floor is always wet has mold on it. Mirror above driver side has mold on it. Seatbelts throughout the car have accumulated mold on them. Behind the driver side that rug is wet soaked as well. The water has traveled to the left side of the vehicle is now getting moist. The trunk never shuts there’s an electrical issue with the wiring. As I drive the trunk opens and shuts not completely but unlatches allowing the trunk to swing open. The electrical issue with the trunk has drained my battery several times. The notification of the door door being open is constantly draining my battery. I have been stranded several times due to this electrical issue. As I drive the steering wheel tilt to the right I cannot control my steering. My steering wheel now looks like it’s out of place it’s like if I try to drive straight the car will go slight right. I have three toddlers who I need to drive to daycare in order to go to work to provide for my family. I do not feel safe driving this car. I went to a Nissan dealership informed them of all these issues in my concerns that I did not feel safe driving this car and they said there was nothing I could do about it unless I paid for the fix. As a consumer defect I do not feel I should be responsible for the manufacture errors.

This car went on fire after being parked for over 5 hours.

When stopped at a stop sign or red light car losses power and almost stalls.

I was driving home and smelled burning rubber or plastic coming from my vent while my heat was on. The smell got stronger and stronger. I turn the heat off and only smelled it a little. I parked my vehicle and I am now in search of a mechanic.

My 2013 Rogue is having electrical issues and power transmission problems.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. The contact was able to pull over safely to the side of the roadway. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.

Our 2013 Nissan Rogue seatbelt light flashes for no apparent reason. This seems to be a problem that has never been resolved by the manufacturer. It also seems that it is a well documented situation. Nissan should be made to research and give a definite fix without the customer suffering trial and error repairs.

Driver's door will not unlock at all. It will not unlock manually with the key nor will it unlock by pressing the inside unlock button on drivers door. All other doors will unlock. If involved in accident or need emergency assistance I will be trapped inside the vehicle.

Recalls for model years of 2014-2016 as well as 2013 sentras due to passenger air bag sensor malfunction. Recall states the the sensor doesn’t detect when passenger is in seat and will not deploy in event of accident. Drive a 2013 Rogue sv with same exact issue as described in recall for other vehicles but 2013 model year not included in recall when this is a prevelant issue with Nissan among many makes and models and for many years. Very hazardous to have a passenger in vehicle and air bags keep saying they are turned off. Big safety issue and don’t understand how Nissan is not including 2013 Rogue in airbag recall when it has the same exact issue that is stated in recall but instead of fixing their major safety defect that could put many children , adults , elderly in a deadly situation. They decide to not include Rogue from 2013 and instead are trying to charge over 1000 to replace the seat to fix their sensor defect. Please investigate as I’m certain there are many other Rogue with the same issue as what has been diagnosed by Nissan was this exact problem they recalled for other model years and are fixing but yet want to charge when this is a dangerous known issue from Nissan across several makes and model years as well as generations.

I have had problems with this car since the first week I bought it. If it's not one thing it's another. Engine problems, oil leaking problems. Check engine light coming on whenever. Possible oil burning problem. Spark plugs, piston rings, axles, cylinders, mounts. This car is in the shop every other 2-3 weeks. Now it's been in the shop for a month+. It's is crazy that a dealership would sell this vehicle to a customer. There's even this thuddering noise. Things have been fixed and something else went wrong. It's been non stop repairs since day one. It also seems that 2013 Nissan Rogues and had many manufacturer problems and issues. I feel this was damaged car that was never reported and then someone fixed a few fake things and then resold it know this car was no good. When I drive it makes a loud thudder noise, the steering is not smooth. Also one night my car completely stopped when I tried to reverse and red light came on.

My daughter was driving my car 4 days ago with heat about 90 degrees. The engine light came on and unable to accelerate even with foot on gas pedal. She was able to pull over and let the car rest for several hours and was able to get home safely. My local mechanic said code po744 torque converter clutch circuit needs repair. I brought to Nissan dealership today and report no recalls (which I know is incorrect) as also 500,000 vehicles are affected. If Nissan does not pay to fix these obvious cvt transmission defects, I will never purchase or recommend anyone waste a penny on this bs company. Never again! why isn't us protecting our consumers against this unacceptable product?!.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact became aware while searching online, of NHTSA campaign number: 15v032000 (electrical system) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and a diagnostic test was performed on the vehicle. The contact was informed that the code detected showed transmission failure. Curry Nissan (765 memorial dr, chicopee, MA 01020, (413) 474-6800) was contacted and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be repaired or replaced due to the code that was retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage 115,000.

We bought a used nissian Rogue and had it two days when we had no power at stop lights and the check engine light came on we went to auto zone and the ran the tester on it and came back with lots of issues with the transmission. We live pay check to pay check we can't afford a new transmission. Please tell me how to fix this problem. I'm reading alot about nissians transmissions. Please fix these there needs to be a recall for the transmissions. I promise I or no one I know will ever buy a Nissan again.

The ac compressor has stopped functioning. Ac fan will run but no ac air on in motion or stationary.

The vehicle radio goes on and off, the dash lights and gauges go on and off and the vehicle jerks and then stops this all while driving.

I was made aware that there was a recall issued back on February 25, 2015. Recall 228072 campain #: 15v032000. I was never notified of this recall concerning my vehicle. Over the past few months, I've noticed moisture on the floor boards in the front of my vehicle. I purchased this vehicle used back in December of 2015.

Car was acting weird when I turned on last 2 days, odometer cruiser where shaking when I first start and taking longer time to turn on. This morning when I tried to turn it on it did not turn on any.

I did a research on the 2013 Nissan Rogue. 2yrs ago on the same truck. Well anyway I didn't think I would have any problems with my truck until now. The transmission has now failed in my truck. Its has stalled on me in the middle of the street and highway which is a danger to me and other cars on the street. The electrical in the truck when trying to drive over the speed limit or not the truck will start to overheat and shut down on me in the street. Then I would have to seat and wait around an half hour to an hour. I have been experiencing problems for awhile but didn't expect it to get this bad.

Car will stop accelerating when driving on the freeway for over an hour. This has happened about 10 times now. It only had about 50,000 miles on it the first time it happened. Several independent body shops could not detect the problem. In viewing other complaints, sounds like it's the transmission. Nissan needs to recall 2013 Nissan Rogues for this problem!.

I was accelerating to merge onto an expressway today, and my acceleration cut out in my vehicle. My vehicle lost all acceleration and coasted to idle speed. I was luckily able to move off the expressway at idle speed, but I may have not been so lucky in another scenario. I also noticed that my brake lights stay on sometimes when the car is off or the pedal is not pressed. The car seems to think the brakes are engaged and will not allow any acceleration. I found this TSB for my vehicle that describes the exact issue I am facing. However, the TSB is inaccurate. It states there is "low power" when accelerating. There is actually "no power. " the car does not accelerate at all when this issue is encountered but will coast to idle speed. This issue puts the driver's life at risk, as well as others on the road, and should result in a full recall before people die. This complaint is in regards to the classification and inaccuracy of the following TSB, which should be classified as recall and corrected to reflect the vehicle losing all acceleration. The door lock system makes a loud noise when locking at about fifteen miles per hour and also makes this startling noise when I lock it with the key fob after I park the vehicle.

The 2013 Nissan Rogue was stationary in a parking lot and caught on fire a few minutes after the engine was turned off. The vehicle only had about 77,000 miles on it when this happened. The vehicle was looked at by an engineering company and suggested that the fire was caused in the engine area.

My car engine light came on and the light made like a car with tire tracks behind it and got it tow because it wouldn't crank, and had a diagnostic test and it showed a problem with ecm.

Lift gate rusted around the emblems and tail lights within one year - they replaced it. Less than 8 months later it started rusting again - they replaced it. Is now rusting again and they will not do anything. Blows heat through the vents when all controls are off and temperature is set to the coolest setting. Latest issue is I was driving my kids home at night and when I tried to accelerate from a stop light the vehicle only moved slowly at the rpm went above 4,000 almost causing me to get rear ended. Eventually I could get to 50 mph but anything over that and the rpm's would race over 4,000. Took it to the dealership and am being told the transmission is shot and it will cost $3,500 and I only have 95,000 miles on it!.

Turning out on road vehicle lost acceleration and then lost all acceleration. No warning , no engine light. Pushed back to house and towed to Nissan. Cvt transmission was the problem and spent roughly 200 to tow and second diagnostic which Nissan wanted to do . Total quote 4460. 00. It concerns me that there was no prior warning to this. Just went out with the whole family in car.

I started my car one day and started to smell something burning. I saw no smoke and immediately shut the car off. I went into my home and got my husband to come and check the car. He started it up and the burning smell continued. Again, we immediately shut the car off. My Rogue was parked in my driveway and this was the first time that day I went to use my car. My husband advised to leave the car alone and take his truck. The next day we went out to check onto the car and it started right up with no burning smell but my "check engine" and "abs" lights stayed on. I had to contact Nissan corporation twice just to get someone to return my calls. I had to file a complaint with my nys attorney general's office to get Nissan's attention only to receive a letter telling my my particular vehicle was not under recall and they wouldn't help. How can an electrical problem when something obviously burned not be their responsibility? I have had my car regularly serviced at my local Nissan dealer and have less than 60000 miles. The car still sits unusable in my driveway.

I have had trouble with the liftgate on this car for at least 2 years. I have had it to the dealership at least 5 times, and recently to an independent mechanic. No one has been able to rectify this problem. The liftgate has gone from intermittenly opening to now not opening at all. Trunk is needed, what can I do?.

At approximately 6:30am, I woke up to my vehicle alarm sounding. The vehicle did not respond to the remote when I attempted to shut it off. I went to check what was the problem as the vehicle was parked in the driveway. The vehicle was on fire. Fdny was called to put out the fire.
