The transmission blew in 2023. I purchased the vehicle from fox Ford (first mistake) and they sent me to the local Nissan dealer to fix it. It was covered under dealer warranty at the time. Fast forward to 1/30/26. My car is fully paid off and I’m driving home from work with my daughter in the backseat and, my worst nightmare occurred; the transmission blew again! the only reason I purchased this vehicle in the first place by the way is because a police officer ran a red light in 2020 and smucked us and didn’t have a single repercussion but, I digress. Anyway, I was able to pull into the median on the highway (luckily I was able to get there and not have the car die in the middle of the highway lane) and call 911 for support. My car was towed to riverside where it still sits. I don’t have any updated paperwork because Nissan is indicating it’s not covered under warranty even though this is a known issue with Rogues and clearly already an immediate issue to me because it had been fixed previously in this particular vehicle. I would like this safety issue to be known as well as the fact that instead of the dealership and Nissan as a company caring or trying to help me in this process, they’ve had me go on a wild goose chase and the saga continues. I simply want the issue to be fixed and justice to be served so that hundreds of thousands of other families don’t have to suffer. Luckily my husband was able to rearrange his schedule and assist with transportation until I begrudgingly was able to purchase a new vehicle but, many individuals do not have that privilege. What a shame that money is cared about more than human lives.
Request for recall coverage – 2013 Nissan Rogue select airbag issue dear sir, I am the original owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue select. Recently, I became aware of a recall issued by Nissan north America for certain 2013–2014 Rogue select vehicles due to an electrical short in the harness connector. This issue is caused by snow/water and salt seeping through the driver's side floor carpet, resulting in the flickering of the driver-side airbag warning light. My vehicle is experiencing the exact symptoms described in the recall notice. However, when I contacted both the Nissan dealership and Nissan north America, I was informed that my vehicle is not included in the affected recall list—even though it is the same model and year, and shows the exact defect identified in the recall. As a senior citizen, I am deeply concerned about the functionality of the airbag system in my vehicle. I rely on the safety features of my car, and I hope that, if ever needed, the airbag would deploy as intended. I respectfully hope that Nissan reevaluates my case and includes my vehicle in the recall repair program, as the issue clearly aligns with the known defect. Thank you for your attention and assistance in this matter. I look forward to your response.
I have a 2013 Nissan rouge. If the car is outside, every time it rains, it floods the driver's side. Which eventually resulted in some electrical malfunction and the driver's side airbag malfunction light. Last year, I noticed that I kept the car outside and not in the garage. I found there is a recall on that. The same issue. But when I called Nissan, they told me that my particular car was not included in that recall. Even when the issue is the same? I am not sure why and to whom to complain. [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The rear back passenger door will open in the unlocked position from the inside or the outside. The electric window works but the door will not open. This should be a recall.
I was driving on the interstate when my car suddenly stopped accelerating. There were no warnings or messages on my dashboard. I was almost rear ended by a semi truck because the car rapidly lost speed. I pulled off of the road for over an hour before the car would accelerate again.
My 2013 Nissan Rogue s 2. 5l 4cyl gas qr25de is having a clogging water leak issue. I started experiencing this issue over 6 months ago uptil now for my SUV. I do not feel safe having that leak in my passengers front side coming out from my open roof area and weting my interior car front foot mats and stincts. The leak flows out under my vehicle, there by, water gushes out water under my vehicle, like a tap water running out. I had taken it to a mechanic workshop 6 months ago & still experiencing the same issue over again. After unclogging it, it comes back clogged back again. I need help for recall or anyhow that NHTSA will help to contact Nissan to take care of it, so it be fixed properly, not upto a year I bought this car. I'm not happy that Nissan products for open roof will be having this issue & people complains it also as a major problem with the make & model. Thank you!.
The water leaking on driver floor and I don’t know what happens so I think air conditioner because I checked the sunroof and it is good.
While driving, alarm on car just started horn blowing and all hazzard lights began to flash. This happened on a second occasion that after parking car, the alarms and lights went off when door was opened to get out. The third occurrence lights and horn began blowing while parked. Was unable to get it to stop drove it home with all horns and lights flashing. On the first occurrence the sudden blowing, non stop of horn and all hazard lights flashing startled me, the driver, and I frantically searched for a place to pull over it took over 15 minutes before it stopped flashing and blowing. Each episode was sudden and unexpected. No buttons keys etc had been touched during these episodes, except the opening of the door during 1 previously mentioned time. I do not know if it is an electrical issue or component issue. But car definitely is being taken to the shop, which leaves me hunting transportation until something can be figured out. I had a disabled individual in the care with me that caused a fear and anxiety with him. He was riding in the back seat.
Need a new transmission. Mechanic stated it was slipping. I drive to and from work. I see there’s many others with the same issue. There should be a recall. Have to come up with 4500 dollars when the car isn’t even worth that much and I owe that much left on the car note.
Unexpected cvt transmission failure on a gently used 2013 roque with 96,000 miles on it. No help from Nissan or previous class action suits even though it's clear they knew this an issue. This vehicle, like many others, were properly maintained and should have been included in those approved for extended warranty. Nissan told me that I was not listed as the owner but I'm the 2nd owner and I guess that's there excuse for not notifying me of any class action that might have been worthwhile to file. Very upset and car just towed tonight to Nissan for $4,800 cvt tranny repair.
Driver's side seatbelt keeps coming unlocked for no apparent reason. Airbag light stays on because of this issue.
When driving home from demark s. C to milledgeville, GA. Last Sunday when around the car stop accelerating and was making a whining noise. . The r. P. M. Meter was over 8 and the speedometer was stuck on 60 m. P. H. This went on for around ten minuets, then started back to normal. This is the second time happened when taking a similar.
We live in the ozarks where it is very hilly. We have had several occurrences where we have traveled uphill while in our 2013 Nissan Rogue and we have had to pull over due to issues with the cvt. It is very dangerous when on the highway and the speed limit is 65 and the Rogue won't accelerate past 45 mph. The first time that this happened, we took it to a Nissan dealership and they said that the car needed a cooler kit ($200). We were out of town and they were not able to make the repairs same day so we declined. Our regular auto shop has stated that they see issues all the time with the transmission of the 2013 Rogues. It was recommended to us to get a new transmission but they aren't sure if that would actually fix the issue. They recommended selling the vehicle as Nissan is notorious for not wanting to correct their issues. The most recent incident regarding the cvt was 9/17 when my husband and I were looking to travel for a day trip an hour and a half away. We were unable to make the trip as they were many hills and the cvt made us pull over several times. We were very lucky to be in the right lane and only almost got hit twice. Unfortunately there is not always a safe spot to pull over when the cvt acts up which has left us in on the shoulder of hills. We ended up turning back around after waiting for the engine to cool for a couple of hours. This car is a nightmare.
I have had numerous big repairs done to this vehicle. On 06/25/2021, I took the car to have the air conditioner fixed. It turned out it was the compressor that needed to be replaced. The next day I picked up the car and the mechanic told me this car needs to be parked right away because it needs a few major repairs. It needed the front n rear pads n rotors, the right axle and the left lower control arm. Since we need this car to go to work and transport our children to their appointments, we went ahead and had the repairs done. We brought the car on 07/07/21 to have it repaired. Total amount paid in all repairs was $1,737. 00. The next day I took the car to work to test it out after all the repairs and it drove fine. The following day my wife took the car in the morning to work. She noticed the car was stalling and would not go forward even pressing the gas to the bottom. She was at a stop light and when it turned green she pressed the gas to go and the car just stopped and the check engine came on. It is the transmission. She was able to pull to the side safely. The transmission on this car was replaced on 10/01/19 after we called Nissan corporation and they agreed to pay 70% of the cost. I called Nissan yesterday 07/19/21 and they returned the call to me today 07/20/21. They told me they are unable to do anything about it since the warranty on the previous transmission had expired. We are now stuck with this car and we are still making payments and we have no idea what to do. I feel this car is not safe at all to be driven on the streets and Nissan should step up and recognize this particular year and model car is defective. Also, I would like to see if Nissan can compensate me for something whether it be the repairs I paid for or if they are willing to replace the transmission, or pay some or all of the remaining balance on the car note I have.
Vehicle loses power/ability to accelerate on longer drives, especially when up/down hills are involved.
Purchased this car in 2015 from. Nissan dealership. The car randomly loses power when I'm on the highway. It's happened 3 times within the last 3 months. The car smokes a bit when this happens. Took it to my licensed mechanic who's owns a shop and was told my transmission was fine, the fluids in the car where up to par and he couldn't find anything wrong with the engine. Was told Nissan Rogue has many issues with the cvt and its worth seeing if there are any open recalls on the car. So I checked by VIN number and nothing came up. But as I do my research into other owners that have the same make and model as well year of my car, they are having the same issue. Wondering why hasn't this been looked into.
Lost power going up hills on a trip. Had to keep pulling over to cool off the transmission. Cruise control popped of and then I would continue to lose power. Went to st george transmission was told I had a vapor lock in my transmission. Can't travel far with my vehicle due to losing power.
Car locking mechanism freezes in cold weather, making it impossible to open door despite unlocking car. Had the issue fixed 2 years ago and had to have it fixed again.
I have had one problem after another and this started right after purchase. A/c compressor went out first, driving down the road, cost $600 to fix. After that, the blower motor burned up while warming up one morning. I started smelling burned plastic, $300 repair. 6 months later, I am spending $4000 to replace the burned up transmission. I went into fail-safe mode while I was attempting to make a turn against traffic. Then I could smell something burned after driving. Now I have just spent another $500 on a new battery and cables and new alternator, only to hear my vehicle still not starting. As I write this, I'm waiting for a call from firestone to now tell me what's wrong with my car and how much this will cost! it is only February, and I have already used my 2 weeks vacation because my car is undriveable. Meanwhile, I still have 2 yrs left on my auto loan agreement. Please help us 2013 Nissan Rogue victims.
When I accelerate I hear a wiring shortage of sorts. The horn blows and there's a hesitation in accelerating.
When accelerating the vehicle it will stall even while on the interstate and I did a google search that stated this issue is common to most make and models-.
3 of the 4 door handles are broken and have stopped working. Airbag light on headlight not working wiring bad.
The vehicle was parked, when I tried to start it the key would not turn in the ignition. The steering wheel was not locked.
I was made aware that there was a recall issued back on February 25, 2015. Recall 228072 campain #: 15v032000. I was never notified of this recall concerning my vehicle. Over the past few months, I've noticed moisture on the floor boards in the front of my vehicle. I purchased this vehicle used back in December of 2015.
Driver side rear door locked by it self we can not open it, all other door working normal right now, mechanic can not fix it because we can not open the door.
I did a research on the 2013 Nissan Rogue. 2yrs ago on the same truck. Well anyway I didn't think I would have any problems with my truck until now. The transmission has now failed in my truck. Its has stalled on me in the middle of the street and highway which is a danger to me and other cars on the street. The electrical in the truck when trying to drive over the speed limit or not the truck will start to overheat and shut down on me in the street. Then I would have to seat and wait around an half hour to an hour. I have been experiencing problems for awhile but didn't expect it to get this bad.
The transmission does not shift properly. The car losses power on the highway and streets. Loss of acceleration and or power. While driving the car does not function properly and is unsafe to drive as is.
A month after buying the vehicle brand new I brought it to the dealership because of excessive shaking and jittering and whining noises. They said it was normal that it's the new style transmission. Now 140k miles later. I'm onn a trip with cruise control set at 75 I noticed I was slowing down it slowed to 60 while driving down the interstate in the middle of fast moving traffic. Turned cruise control off and attempted to accelerate. Once I pressed the gas pedal it did nothing. Rpms didnt go up mph didnt go up. It was like it just shut off. I got to the next exit pulled off on side turned the vehicle off and then back on. It was fine about an hour later it did the same thing so stopped at a gas station checked fluids everything normal. Got back on the interstate it was normal again. Made it to our destination and vehicle seemed fine the next 2 days but we never needed to drive over 55. On the trip home it started again about an hour in. So we stopped ate and got back on the interstate. This time we kept the speed under 65 the entire trip home and it was fine. Brought it to the dealership to get it checked out to find out that it's my transmission that needs to be replaced.
My 2013 Nissan Rogue needs the transmission replaced. It has 101. 512 miles on it. For a vehicle that is only 6 years old this is very upsetting. I have contacted consumer affairs hoping that they will pay or help pay for the cost. I have been reading about the cvt in these vehicles and it seems to be a major issue. I feel as a consumer this should be taken care of by Nissan. They should really stand behind their product. Hot in it one morning the engine e light came on backed out of my garage put it in drive and could not go over 5 miles an hour and it was making a whining so ound. Parked it and had it towed to a Nissan dealership. I am very upset that this happened and that I have this expense now.
While traveling to orlando florida on Sunday 05/27/2019, my vehicle stopped accelerating on the highway. The more I pressed the gas pedal the slower my vehicle became. By the grace of god an 18 wheeler truck saw my distress and guided me 1 mile to the exit on I-75 south. My car dropped down to 20 mph. This was the most traumatic experience. I was stranded from 6 pm Sunday until 6:30 am the next morning where I was then able to get my vehicle msu ran errands company to tow me 113 miles to my nephew's home in brayselton georgia where we took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership in buford georgia. They ran a diagnostic check to find out my transmission was gone. I never had an indication this was going out and now the price to replace this transmission is well over $5,000. 00. I am over 400 miles away from my vehicle and don't know how I will get my vehicle fixed. Dealership told me that since I am not going to get it fixed by them I need to come get it due to them not having room to store it until I can figure out what to do. The warranty only lasted for 60,000 miles or 5 years which ever came 2st. Why can't the warranty on such an expensive part be given a 100,000 mile warranty? people such as myself riding along going about their everyday business ot knowing the vehicle they purchased can literally be a death trap. This is so not right to have to come up with a large amount of cash for such a huge repair and still have a car note to pay. I would like for Nissan to go online and read the reviews of their product, stand by these people and stand by he product. It should not have to wait until someone loose their life to dig deep into seeing the problem.
"takata recall" I lose power going down the road after about an hour to hour in a half. . My rpm go way high but my speed drop and I have to stop and let the car cool and try to start again on my trip.
While traveling back from the east coast, in the state of oklahoma the transmission went out on the vehicle. Was traveling on the interstate. Had to travel about 30 miles on the side of interstate to get to nearest town. Located a Nissan dealership. Ending up paying thousands to get transmission fixed.
No acceleration but rpm's almost red line coming out of toll booth on maine turnpike then quickly accelerates. Again at 70 mph in center lane barely able to get into brake down lane without any power. Very dangerous vehicle that's been well maintained.
Was driving down the highway and the rpms went too 4000 and our speed was 45 mph. Came back home and it wouldn't go over 1000 rpm not getting any power. I believe it was the transmission.
Drivers side door does not unlock. Driver is locked inside vehicle. In the instance of a disabled driver, this is potentially dangerous as the driver must exit other door. People with limited mobility may not be able to do so. In the event of an emergency, this may also be a hazard.
