In the website it shows that there was a safety recall for the door lock but when I entered my VIN#it doesn't show outstanding recalls. I don't know if it's because it was previously corrected but the passenger door isn't opening neither from the inside nor the outside.

7 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2022

Passenger occupant sensor is malfunctioning. Very similar condition to recall 16v244000. Nissan is stating that the VIN number is not impacted by the recall but I believe it is the same issue and that they did not expand the recall to cover all the affected vehicles. Dealer reports that to fix the issue, the lower seat cushion must be replaced as the occupant sensor is located in the seat cushion. Nissan nor the dealer have been helpful in trying to resolve this serious safety issue. Cost to replace seat cushion is over $2,000. Failure codes on diagnostic scan are b1020, b1021, and b1022. My request to NHTSA is to expand the recall campaign to wider VIN number range to encompass cars that may be affected.

8 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2022

- passenger occupancy sensor needs replacement. - the whole airbag system is deactivated, putting my children at risk. - an independent service center diagnossed the problem. - the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, requested an inspection, but they will not do a complimentary one, they are charging $250 to diagnose the vehicle. - the passenger airbag signal has been blinking red for the last 3 weeks. My wife and I, bought this vehicle new from a Nissan dealership, we have been driving it for almost 8 years, the vehicle has never been involved in any accident. The issue passenger airbag sign blinking red (for 3 weeks now), I called the 2 dealerships, and Nissan consumer affairs line, since our vehicle VIN number, doesn’t have any recalls pending, I was informed that, the inspection and repairs, will come out of my pocket, because of the high Nissan dealership fees, I took the vehicle to an independent service center and they diagnossed “passenger occupancy sensor, needs replacement, and it is sold as the entire seat cushion” I looked online and saw that more than 187 people have had the same problem, and have had no help from Nissan. I am extremely concerned about my family safety, this is the vehicle I transport my children in, Nissan said “once an airbag light is blinking, the whole system is disconnected, to prevent accidental deployment”. In other words… I have been driving my kids for the last 3 weeks, in a tin can with no airbags, and Nissan doesn’t seem to care enough, to schedule a complimentary inspection for my vehicle, or to add this issue to their recalls. I am repairing the airbag because it is a safety issue, but Nissan needs to care enough about their customers to make this right.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wire connector was loose and needed to be reconnected and a possible key cycle while connection was open and if codes return, parts might need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated there was nothing they could do that he had to pay out of pocket. The failure mileage was 38,000.

13 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2022

I'm reaching out in hopes of getting an answer on when the remedy for the recall number r21b9 for 2014 Nissan Rogue. My car has been at the Nissan dealership for many days with every issue this recall represents. Water wicking up in the harness and connectors, it's eroded multiple electrical parts. Power steering, airbag connectors have been negatively affected etc. I'm being quoted an outrageous amount. Since I'm in need of a car, I told them to start with the repairs, although I don't have any confirmation of what Nissan will do to compensate me or when. . . I can provide you with the documents and proof that my car is dangerous and malfunctioning due to this recall, directly from the Nissan dealer. Please respond with how to proceed.

14 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2022

Got interim recall letter March 2022, no remedy has been provided, wire issue has called drivers window inoperable lights on dash for all wheel drive, airbag, engine light. No undate can be given from Nissan.

15 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2021

After the air bag sensor recall software update, the occupancy sensor worked fine for a couple of years and now is again not working. When a passenger sits on the front passenger seat, the sensor doesn't detect a person and the occupancy sensor light never goes off. Several times I had to stop and put the car on park and then put more pressure on the seat to get the sensor to detect there is a person. Now the manufacturer dealer wants to charge me to diagnose the problem and states there could be more expenses involved with replacing the parts. As a customer I feel this is a persistent problem since the car was purchased and has never been fixed.

16 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2021

Air bag horn cruise control-no major accident. . . Got air condition fixed and shortly after my horn stopped working but it works if my panic button is pushed. Horn doesn't work when I lock the car. The cruise control and bluetooth stopped working and airbag light is on one after the other. I was told it was a clockspring and it's 1000 dollars to replace and is a 2. 00 part . Vehicle isn't worth anything with an airbag light on. Then the bushings are shot and control arm cost 2500 to replace. I thought Nissans were good cars use to have a 1989 Nissan truck and had four maxima's, ran forever. The dealer offered me 4000 for it(not knowing the airbag light is on and bushings are bad) but blue book value is like 6-8000 and if you try to buy one it's 15000 for used one. Only has 130000 miles on it should last longer especially the control arm. Not to mention I would need an alignment after bushings are done getting close to 4000 in repairs. Why isn't my model included in the airbag repair? why does Nissan put cheap bushings on their cars? why don't they sell just the bushings ? rip off should last another 100000 at least. Never buying another Nissan. . . Sad part is the car runs great except suspension, not worth repairing for 4000.

17 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2021

There have been 2 recalls that have applied to my 2014 Nissan Rogue however my VIN has not been listed under either recall resulting in me paying out of pocket for repairs. The first recall that my VIN number was excluded from was the clock spring . The second recall is the OCS (occupant classified system). Both have issues pertaining to airbag safety.

Failure Date: 10/20/2017

The passenger seat air bag shows off even when someone is sitting in it. The flashing light on the dash drives me insane, I see there was a recall for this issue however entering my VIN# I get results for no recalls found. . Cofused. . Passenger airbag doesn't show active, even when passenger is seated in passengers seat.

24 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2017

Passenger air bag is not reading adults. Dealership has fixed once, was involved in accident, did enough damage to damage radiator, and airbags did not go off. I had a 14 year old in the front seat. My passenger air bag is once again not reading. This was my most recent incident with my vehicle. I was making a left hand turn, when accelerating my vehicle seemed hesitant and momentarily stalled withing my turn. This has happened numerous times, while trying to accelerate. My car had been warm during each time. My transmission has already started slipping, I was notified there was a recall on my vehicle for the transmission. My back seats seem to vibrate. They vibrate so much, they move side to side at high speeds on the highway. (70 mph) this is the legal speed in my area. I feel my vehicle is a lemon with all the recalls that have been fixed ion it already and is not safe. My total millage is about 63000.

30 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2016

Nissan dealer contacted me over 3 months ago. To tell me there was problem. But have yet to do anything.

31 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2015

The passenger airbag doesn't sense adult passengers and the deactivated light is lit. Nissan won't do anything. I guess it doesn't matter to them until someone gets killed.

32 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2015

I was driving on a highway doing 60-70 mph at night and a deer jumped out of nowhere straight in front of the car hitting the hood which opened up protecting the windshield and me inside. The air bag deployed (only on my side, not passenger's) leaving 2nd degree burns on my right hand (as estimated by a doctor at the hospital). I was given an ointment and bandage. The car itself is totaled with the front completely bent (see attachments). My issue is whether the air bag is supposed to be that hot as to burn. I can understand it'd be warm especially after driving for a while but hot to the extreme? I'm not sure if I have a strong case as to sue the manufacturer for the burns but is there anything else I can do to be compensated for this bodily injury as well as pain & suffering? thanks!.

33 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2015

While sitting still, our vehicle was hit head on by another car. Although the other car was not going fast, the impact was near middle of the front of the car. Just under $4000 of damage was done. Both the air condenser and the radiator had to be replaced. Neither air bag was inflated even though my wife and I were both in the front seat. Our seat belts were being used. Neither of us was injured. The accident occurred while exiting a parking lot onto a road. The other car turned into our lane.

34 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2014

I was driving in heavy traffic taking my wife to work. I was going about 15 to 20 mph because of morning rush hour traffic in chicago is heavy. I turned my head to answer my wife and being distracted I turned my head back and saw the big SUV in front of me was stopped and I slammed on the brakes and slid into the rear of his SUV. Only a small ding and scratch I seen and my car had the bumper broken, hood bent up, crinkles in side fenders. Even the police could not believe how the car was all damaged at that type speeds and no air bags deployed. Anyway I was told probably I was going too slow and slid into the vehical in front and maybe there is a certain force to make them blow off. I got a little over $5000 damage. Like the car is as thin as a pop can and no air bags deployed. The body shop when they repair it is going to check the air bag system. . . I clled Nissan and they claim a supervisor will be calling me back in a few days. . .

35 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

Whenever the front-seat passenger buckles his or her seat belt even a few seconds after we start our Rogue, put it in gear, and start driving, the “passenger airbag off” light illuminates and the passenger airbag remains off indefinitely. We are able to fix the problem only by stopping the car, shutting it off, and making sure that the passenger buckles his or her seat belt before the engine is re-started. This is clearly a dangerous problem. We spoke to our Nissan dealer’s service department about this, and they told us that they are aware that this kind of thing happens, but they have no fix for it.
