6 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2017

I experienced my car accelerating when not on the gas. I wasn't sure if it was my imagination but it's happened several times. I went out to start my car a few weeks ago and my key wouldn't turn. A red key appeared in the dashboard flashing. It took several minutes before the key eventually turned. This only lasted a day. Fast forward to now my car keeps stalling. I took it by an auto zone, I was told it was my alternator. Well I just purchased this car new last year. It's only a year old. This morning, it gave me the same issue. I go to turn the car on drive out the lot and it keeps stalling. No indicators in the dashboard are indicating anything is wrong. I'm afraid something is seriously wrong and do not feel comfortable driving it. I just dropped it off at the dealership where I purchased it. Per the staff, everything is normal. I'm now awaiting a diagnostic check.
