Tl the contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the automatic emergency braking activated independently. The aeb warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stopped abruptly. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to Nissan of sacramento located at (2820 auburn blvd, sacramento, CA 95821), however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.
I was driving around 40 mph on a straight city street approaching a part of the road that dipped under a bridge. My car's emergency breaking engaged slowing my speed to about 20 mph before the breaks released. Luckily there was nobody else on the road (behind me) and I did not panic. Otherwise, this could have been a dangerous situation. Given that no accident occurred, I do not have pictures to share.
My car brakes locked up for no reason as I was driving. I’ve called Nissan they did a “reset” on the braking system while I was under warranty. The car continues to flash malfunction and front radar disabled. My car beeps all the time on the road for zero reason. Now my cars warranty is out by a few miles and the refuse to fix it. This is a safety issue. I’m terrified of wrecking and they will not fix it without 1300. 00. Called home office they won’t budge. This isn’t my fault the car has done this since I bought it. It’s not safe and I fear of causing a wreck when the brakes lock up again. They would rather me wreck than fix my car under the warranty. I have powers when they rest it when under the 60 days time frame but it didn’t fix the problem. Now I’m stuck with a huge bill on a car I bought to be safe in. Please help there needs to be a recall. After researching I see this is a common issue that Nissan refuses to fix. How many die before it’s corrected. This is a safety issue. Not a brush it off sort of problem. This could kill someone. Bought 01/2020 issues began 02-2020 and are still happening.
The automatic emergency braking system abruptly engages the brakes when there are no objects in front of the vehicle. This has occurred on several occasions while the vehicle was in motion on city streets.
Monterey window sticker states my vehicle has equipped forward emergency braking. This is supported by a 2017. 5 rouge press kit release publication Nissan media. This important safety function recently failed to apply the brakes and vehicle rear ended another car. This feature never worked. I feel cheated by Nissan. Vehicle in motion at the time.
Emergency brakes lock up driving 55 miles per hour in the expressway, raining conditions almost can't write the history.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle braked automatically without the brake pedal being depressed. The contact also stated that the vehicle stalled twice without warning. The driver restarted the vehicle and was able to drive. The vehicle was taken to pohanka Nissan of fredericksburg (5200 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408, (540) 898-5200) where the vehicle was driven a hundred miles; however, the technician could not replicate the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. The VIN was not available.
Driving approximately 35mph and the cars automatic emergency brake system triggered, car came to a complete stop. Thankfully there were no other cars in front or behind me at the time. This was on a local residential road.
The automatic emergency braking system on my 2017 Rogue engaged yesterday during highway driving at roughly 60 mph. What a horrifically terrifying event. I was traveling within a single lane on a 3 lane highway when out of the blue the brakes locked up. The vehicle shuddered and the car went from 60 mph to about 15-20 mph in a matter of a couple hundred feet. It felt as though several tires had blown out at once or the automatic transmission had completely locked up. I remember hearing an audible chime and seeing something on the console panel flashing what I believe to be red warning light while I was fighting to retain control of the vehicle. Within a period of about 3-5 seconds the whole event was over and the vehicle had abruptly slowed itself to the aforementioned speed. Fortunately at the time the traffic was light and there was not another vehicle directly behind me or the consequences of this event would have ended tragically. The important thing to note is that this was relatively open road at the time and there were no other vehicles or obstructions in front or to the sides of the vehicle when this occurred. The vehicle has been promptly turned over to Nissan for a full review and repair of the forward emergency braking system.
When driving the car in areas with uneven streets or street repairs plancks on ground either autimatic breaks would activate or car wouldn't slow down when breaks were hit. While driving on an unevenly paved road at about 30m/p/h the breaks were pressed & car did not slow down until it collided with another vehicle.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. While traveling approximately 35 mph, the vehicle started to decelerate, the brakes seized, and the anti-lock brake system warning indicator illuminated. The front wheels wanted to spin, but they were locked. The vehicle was scheduled to be diagnosed by family Nissan of laredo (3701 e saunders st, laredo, TX 78041) on December 2, 2019. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 17,776.
While driving my 2017 Nissan Rogue this week, for no apparent reason, the brake assist feature engaged. I was driving between 30-40 mph, nothing in my path, when suddenly the brakes engaged, causing what sounded like a grinding sound and my vehicle nearly coming to a stop with rush hour traffic behind me. This has happened twice since I've owned the car, with the previous time being approximately a month or two ago. I will be taking my vehicle in to my local Nissan dealership to inspect, and hopefully this is taken seriously, and promptly corrected, as this could potentially cause a serious accident.
When driving and steering, turning left or right, going over bumps in the road, turning curves, there is a clicking noise in my steering column. When I put on brakes it does it also. I am not sure if there is something inside broken or loose. I have taken it to a Nissan dealer and they can't find anything, but they hear the noises, the service manager even recorded the noises. My seat slides on the power racking system. My seat will side from front to back, only a fraction, but it also slides or rocks from left to right. I am afraid that the seat will come unattached if I am in a collision. The abs will often make the flashing noise and attempt to brake if it sees a shadow on the road, like a parking garage or trees over a road. I have asked the Nissan dealer in asheboro several times and they can't find any issues with the 3 problems that I have listed. Granted I did not purchase from them, so they really don't want to assist me. I purchased the extra warranties, bumper to bumper, and that has not given me any assistance as well. Please help. I want to get rid of this unfit car but I will not be able to because of the noises it is making. This started at about 31,000 and now I have 47,000, numerous trips to a dealer to no resolve. I have had the right- wheel, tire rods or brakes something replaced 3 times, I have had a new heating/air, steering grommet $ 194. 00, out of pocket, break gasket, $50, and these noises that are so bad that I can't stand to drive the car, for over 1 years or so now.
Emergency brake engaged suddenl, it has happened there different times while in motion. Twice while driving on the street and the last time pulling into my garage.
Tl- the contact was renting a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the auto break engaged with no object in front the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for a diagnostic test or repairs. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The VIN number was not available. The failure mileage was 23,262. Dr.
Emergency braking system activated on the freeway at 40 mph with no obstacle to trigger it. Vehicle ahead of me was at least 4 car lengths ahead. I brought it to the dealer who said it was a known calibration issue and repaired free of charge.
Brakes suddenly turned on for no reason. Screen behind steering wheel indicated something about the front brake radar being activated. I was driving at 45 on a 45 mph road when it went off. Steering wheel shook. An unexpected event like this could of created an accident with the on coming traffic. Called dealer to figure out how to cut the wires on this defective product. Just got something in mail about a recall yesterday, a little too late!.
I was driving though an intersection with no obstructions in front of me & my automatic emergency braking engaged for no reason. The chime sounded, the car stopped instantaneously & a malfunction screen came up on my dashboard. I was lucky there wasn't anyone behind me or I would have gotten rear ended. I have spoken to the dealership & have made an appointment, but I am told that there is no recall regarding this issue & I will have to pay to have it diagnosed & fixed. I am baffled that something that could cause serious harm to drivers hasn't been recalled or addressed. I drive the pennsylvania turnpike everyday to work which has a 70 mph speed limit & I can tell you, I do not feel safe knowing that this could happen at that speed with many cars around me. I really hope to see this issue be listed as a recall in the very near future!.
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, I drove my Rogue from my job at the times-tribune newspaper in scranton, PA on interstate 84 east to visit my brother in brewster n. Y. After I exited the interstate and headed toward my brother's house, my Rogue just stopped while I was driving. The stop was short, and luckily the car behind me was not that close. My Rogue then continued to drive. There was nothing in front of me or on the sides to cause the automatic emergency braking to activate like this. I was driving straight on a city road. I did cross railroad tracks and it happened right after that. . At the time, I didn't know what to think. I thought maybe there was some kind of electrical issue. I didn't bring it in because it drove fine after that and didn't recur. Since then, my Rogue has driven normally. It wasn't until yesterday when I saw all the articles about other people complaining about their Rogue's automatic emergency braking stopping - just like mine did - that I realized this is what happened to me in my Rogue. I am scared that this is going to happen again while I'm driving my car and cause me to get in an accident. I have no other mode of transportation and must get to work. My daily commute is 45 minutes to an hour each way. I do not know what to do about this issue. I cannot find any information about how to get this fixed, and frankly, I cannot afford an expensive repair on something that should not be happening. I also cannot afford to get a rental car while my Rogue gets fixed.
On 4 different occasions within less than 60 days, my 2017 Nissan Rogue has tried to "stop" on its own while I have been driving for no reason. There is nothing in front of me on the sides of me or close behind me when it occurs. It has varied in the speeds I have been driving, it hasn't happened during one specific speed. When it occurs, it beeps multiple times and I can hear my brakes locking up for a split second and then it stops. The first time it happened, I was going around 30 mph in town (thankfully I wasn't on the interstate) and I truly thought my car had come to a complete stop or died right there in the road. Each time my car messes up, it always makes the same noise, makes the same 3-4 beeps and then tries to lock up. I took it to my local Nissan store in jackson, ms and they informed me that nothing was wrong with my car- but my gut just says other wise. It scares me to think that this might happen on the interstate, at a much higher speed, with my family in the car with me. Please help!.
I was driving and the car made a loud beeping noise and stopped on it's own. It breaked and I had no control over the breaks or acceleration. The emergency break system went off. A light came on on the dashboard that said malfunction! check owner's manual. (see pic). It was really scary. I had my 2 year old daughter in the car. I can't imagine what would have happened if I were on the highway with a truck behind me! this is a known issue and I know it's being investigated, but this needs to go away. This is so so unsafe!.
This is my second report, I paid for an abs control update for my Nissan rouge 2017 and two weeks later my rouge started stopping again and slowing down again while driving it. I have kept this vehicle parked in my garage because I am very afraid to drive it because it is unsafe. I feel cheated because I'm still paying a note on a car that I cannot drive because it is unsafe for anyone. I received a notice in the mail from Nissan to bring my 2017 Nissan rouge in to have the same update only this time they are offering the update for free, I have no faith that the update will work. I'm just getting the run around from Nissan,.
My car suddenly braked on its own while traveling at 40 miles per hour without a car or object in front of my car.
I was driving up a ramp in a parking garage, nothing in front of me or in my cross way, the vehicle slammed on it's brakes by itself. Thankfully I was not driving fast and the car behind me was able to also slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. I've driven this parking garage numerous times over the almost 2 years of owing this vehicle without this happening before. My dealership (mcgrath Nissan in elgin, illinois) told me this was normal and I should only be concerned if it happens on an open road. This is a safety issue in my opinion and should not be shrugged off by Nissan.
The Feb system would brake my car randomly, especially in parking garages. I would be in an open lane with no cars in front of me. It's concerning when there are cars behind me. I got the system updated at my last service appointment, it does seem to happen less, but it still occurred once since then. However, this shouldn't occur at all.
At 8000 miles, I had to have the right front strut replaced, and now I have 23,000 miles on it and I am going on my 4th strut, right front. A popping clicking noise when I turn or back up. Driving a 4 hr trip, while driving about 3 hrs, the air conditioning froze up and stopped working. I could hear the fan on full blast but nothing was coming out. I turned it off for 20 minutes and then it came back on with cool air. It is in the shop now for a heater/cooler box and the 4th strut replacement.
While driving about 35 miles an hour on an empty city street the emergency breaking system kicked in and the tires screeched out of nowhere.
The automatic braking system deploys at random resulting in near rear end collisions. The car has braked forcibly when driving over speed bumps, metal plates on the road, and railroad tracks. The dealer service department won't replace the detection system saying that can't "recreate" the problem. It can't be disabled permanently. Please insist on a recall. This is so dangerous! owners should be warned to turn it off manually every time they enter their cars.
I was driving on a public road (speed limit 45), going about 45 mph. When I was going through an intersection and had a green light, the emergency automatic braking system started engaging, beeping fist. There were no cars in or near the intersection. After several warning beeps, the eab system started engaging the brakes, indicating that a crash was imminent. Again, there was no cars near or by us. The brakes were applied by the car, and it took a moment before the brakes eased up and I could apply the gas pedal. We were going straight through the intersection.
At 11,500 the car decreased in braking ability. The dealer was going to charge an enormous amount just to look at the brakes. Took the car to our reliable mechanic to receive the trust and not be ripped off. The rotors are glazed which prevents the brakes to stop the car quickly. Nissan refused to take care of this problem. It is drivable because it does stop, just not quickly. But at inspection time, it probably won't pass. At 13,100, the serpentine belt and the alternator let go while driving. This was covered under warranty, but should not happen at 13,100 miles. This happened while driving the car. The car jerked and pulled over immediately and towed to the dealership.
On at least 5 different occasions the forward collision warning on our 2017 Nissan Rogues (we own two) has gone off for no apparent reason. Some were on a highway around 55mph, some were on residential roads around 25mph. If we ignore it and don't hit the brakes it ends up braking the car automatically.
Monday, 04/15/2019 @ approximately 1000 hours cst, while driving e-bound on i274 (chicago) our vehicle's (2017 Nissan Rogue, awd) braking system engaged (hard) on its own and the steering temporarily locked up. E-bound i274 traffic was congested and moving @ around 45 to 50 mph. We were traveling @ a safe distance (estimate 3 car lengths) from the vehicle in front of us. Vehicles behind us had to brake hard to avoid rear-ending our vehicle. Driving our vehicle was my spouse, I was in the front passenger seat and my 12 year old granddaughter was in the rear seat (driver's side). My best guess . . . The unassisted braking action and locked steering seem to last 3-5 seconds. We immediately contacted the dealer of purchase to inquire as to the severity of the problem. They were not familiar with the symptoms/problem. We scheduled a service appointment for the 16th of April, 2019. Took the vehicle in and they could not determine the problem causing the vehicle to brake on it's own. They did note, on the work order/invoice that there is a "TSB related to . Activation of Feb few aeb". $95. 00 charge assessed for their service. Thursday, 18 April 2019 @ approximately 2300 hours my spouse and granddaughter were returning from a play, while pulling into the driveway of our residence our vehicle repeated emergency braking and locked steering action. This unassisted action while driving is extremely dangerous!!!!!!.
My Nissan brakes at a set of emergency lights outside a fire station. I reported it to Nissan within a month of getting my car and was told they were looking in to it. The dealer thought I was making it up. It doesn't happen every time, but day or night seems to be less if I go faster than the posted speed limit. I got a letter that I can have it fixed but the dealership didn't have a clue how to do it, they had my car overnight and said they had to order a part, then when I complained miraculously the part was in and I needed to bring my car back, but was told this is not a recall, it is just fix. I think it needs to be a recall. I have seen cars swerve behind me as my car does such a sudden unexpected braking. The road is a rural road, speed limit is 35. The fire station lights are constant blinking yellow and will turn red so that traffic stops for emergency vehicles to get out on the road in an emergency. My car auto brakes on the yellow blinking has done it about 100 times since owning the car.
Unavailable front radar obstruction, happened while driving.
I was travelling in teaneck, NJ, going east on churchill road , approaching tthe intersection of windsor road. I attempted to slow my vehicle, in order to make a right turn. I stepped on the brake pedal, but the car did not slow down or stop. As a result, I went through the intersection, hit the curb, and went off the road, finally coming to a stop in a grassy area.
