When approaching an intersection, the brake pedal was unable to be used, locked up. With no brakes, the result was a collision. The front collision detection that constantly warned falsely on the dash. This failed to work prior to the collision at this time. Automatic brakes did not engage either resulting in a serious crash. Nissan dealership is inspecting the brake booster, and brake system.
I was on the highway driving to sheboygan , WI from chicago, IL. I had the cruise control on. I was going 80 in the fast lane. My car out of nowhere slowed down on its own abruptly almost causing a 4 car collision. I quickly turned on to the shoulder and once my car came to a stop the car died. I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. I had no sensors or warning lights to give me some type of clue as to what happened. About 3 months ago, going over railroad tracks my car abruptly slammed on the brakes on its own and came to a stop on the tracks. I was unable to accelerate. I had to turn the car off n then back on to be able to drive off the tracks.
The trunk when opened will open all of the way and then will close automatically almost immediately and without warning. The vehicle is stationary, off, and in park usually, but it will also happen when the vehicle is stationary, on, and in park. I has happened multiple times.
When my vehicle is parked and turned off I am unable to lock or unlock it using the power button on the doors' exterior. My vehicle started doing this after a visit to a Nissan dealership (2551 the nalley way, atlanta, GA 30360) for a simple oil change. I took it back the following day when the issue began and they told me they were not responsible and that it was a common issue of my front-door lock actuator failing and that it would have to be replaced. Feeling defeated after trying to reason with management that it was not having this issue before they serviced my vehicle, I decided to leave it alone. However, recently my niece and I were out shopping and noticed that we were being followed by a strange acting man. We took off running toward my vehicle trying to reach safety, but what happens? the door lock actuator fails and I'm unable to enter my own vehicle! our only saving grace was that another man in the parking lot noticed that we were trying to flea from danger and intervened to get the other man away from us. It was terrifying! I'm not sure what may have happened to my niece and I had he not stepped in and I hate to even think about it. Fast forward a few days and it begins to rain for days straight and I'm left fiddling with my keys to open my door, while also holding a purse, baby bag, and baby on my hip and trying to balance an umbrella to keep us dry. Imagine the sight of that. It's so frustrating! at first I thought that maybe my key battery was dying and decided to get the battery replaced before returning to the dealership but the battery was not the issue. I've never heard of door lock actuator failure and believe it to be a manufacturing error and safety hazard. I bought the 2018 Nissan Rogue because I loved my 2017 Rogue and never experienced the issues that this newer model has given me. Boy was I wrong!!! Nissan should be held accountable!.
I would like to report an issue with the vehicles automatic braking assistance system. While driving the car on an avenue, the car just stopped completely with no other traffic in the area. No one in front or behind. The car came to a complete stop and I and my passenger where thrown forward with the seat belts tightening around us. The car has also slowed down on major streets and highways. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
I was driving on the highway doing 60 mph and all warning lights sounds and the breaks came on and stopped me without me touching them.
On four occasions my car has randomly started flashing a light on my dash and than grabbing the brakes as if someone or something was in front of me, on all four occasions there has been no one in front of me, but there has been people behind me that have had to swerve out of the way. The vehicle is brand new with less than 40k miles and is becoming more and more dangerous for my children and I.
1) while driving vehicle would identify shadows as objects & slow down 2) back up view on dash freezes - not allowing accurate viewing of objects behind 3) when I got a flat tire & drove on donut awd locked in place and overheated - could not turn off awd 4) the most recent incident occurred while stopped at gas pump crash detector kicked on and only @. 50/gas could be pumped at a time kicking off the fuel pump repeatedly I have never been contacted by anyone regarding recalls -.
The emergancy braking system goes off for no reason when I was driving down the road with no vehical or object in front of the veheical that should cause it to stop. When it goes off the brakes are applied and the car stops in the road.
This is a new incident for same vehicle reported in NHTSA incident #11308847. The vehicle was attempted to be picked up for the first time since February 10, 2020 when it was involved in a wreck on that date. Vehicle had been with Nissan representatives continuously since that date. The vehicle had sat unattended for several months due to issues reported in NHTSA incident #11308847. Nissan provided written response the vehicle's body damage was repaired but they were unable to reproduce any computer issues. Consumer was instructed to pick-up vehicle by today. The vehicle was started while at the Nissan facility and left running for a little while as the battery had completely discharged. During the final check before I left the Nissan facility, the vehicle's ignition was engaged and the vehicle was fully running. However, numerous lights on the dashboard were illuminated that should not be illuminated while the vehicle was parked and turned on. These lights included power steering, abs, brake, check engine, oil pressure, and a few other lights. Additionally, the air conditioning system was completely unresponsive in terms of blowing air or running any fans. The vehicle could not be released by the Nissan facility's service manager and the vehicle will be kept for further investigation into continuing onboard computer systems not functioning correctly.
My car has been dying intermittently for the past few months while stationary. Today my vehicle shut off while I was driving home on a residential street, traveling approximately 35 miles per hour, causing the steering to lock up and my vehicle to abruptly stop. All the indicator lights shut off as well. Another vehicle had to swerve into the other lane to avoid rear ending me.
The infotainment system, which includes the cameras and navigation system randomly reboots itself. While using navigation the entire system will reboot itself. Sometimes the touch screen will freeze up and it has to be manually rebooted. The infotainment system is important because it has your backup cameras and navigation system. (the date, mileage on my vehicle and speed I was going was based on the most recent occurrence. ).
I was driving down the road and the brakes locked up in the car came to a complete stop and the sensor system detected something in front of me when there was nothing in front of me. I wais traveling at a speed of 30 mph.

I was driving my 2018 Nissan Rogue sport s awd and out of the blue on the instrument panel pop up's chassis control system error and and all of the little instrument diagrams started flashing on and off the radio and clock turn off the car was making a buzzing sound. So I pulled over off the road took out the manual it say take to a Nissan dealer for complete scan of all the systems. Which I will be doing on Wednesday 1/8/2020, which is the earliest that they could see me. But my question is is their and issues with this car because I've been checking online and alot of people or reporting they have issuses with this system and no one seems to be able to get and answer on why this is happening. And if this issuses has be going on since about 2016 that I've found why hasn't Nissan done something about it,.

I pulled into my driveway, put the car in park and it started to rev out of the blues then the check engine light came on.
My car suddenly stopped a couple of times while no other object was in front of me. And now I encountered a malfunction that appears as a warning on my dashboard showing the early brake detection not working properly. I took a picture of what it looks like.

My Nissan Rogue has experienced the same issue 3 times in a 2 month period. 1st time - driving, crossing a busy intersection front end shuddered, shook heavily, check engine light came on. I was able to drive it to local mechanic who ran diagnostics and stated there were too many codes regarding the electric system and recommended I take it to dealership. Took it to local dealer, diagnostics were run again, and they reported they were not sure of the issue, suspected damage to the maf sensor (which was then throwing off the report of all other sensors). They replaced it with Nissan manufactured part and electric tape and I was told it was good to go. 2nd time - stationary making a left onto busy main street, car shuddered, stalled, no check engine light completely stopped. Unable to drive it, when changing gears it just coasted backwards (due to the hill I was on). Had it towed to the same dealer, told the same thing as previous visit not sure what's wrong, probably the sensor, was told they replaced it again with Nissan manufactured part and taped up real good this time. however could not guarantee it wouldn't happen again, also still no idea what exactly caused the stalling. 3rd time- driving straight after being stopped at res light, car stalls, engine light back on, and unable to drive it. The car coasted to the nearest shoulder and now waiting for a tow truck to take me to a different dealership, whom hopefully can fix the problem that continues to happen.
Takata recall 2 occasions vehicle was in motion, once 35+ mph and 40mph. Car literally stopped in the middle of the road with moving traffic. Dealership claimed it was the sensor the first time & switched it. Happened second time today & almost caused multiple fatal wrecks. Both times on busy roads & this time exiting a bridge into on coming traffic and multiple lanes. I'm scared to drive this vehicle. Bought it brand new. Fist couple months had sent video and reported on 3 occasions where the radio screen was also defective and they replaced it. On both occasions this has been traumatizing and just looking at the computer is not enough! I put down $8k and traded in a vehicle to buy my first new car, only for it to become a death trap!.
My emergency brakes will automatically come on and seem to be having a digital issue.
When driving the automatic braking feature will automatically engage with nothing in my sorounding causing my car to go to a quick stop on the highway etc. This has happened multiple times since I have purchased the vehicle new in February.
The car's automatic emergency braking system brakes suddenly without warning and randomly. It does so without any obstacles or obstructions visible, or when vehicles are in the vecinity while driving. This proposed safety feature in actuallity has made these experiences feel it as unsafe. I have had this problem for a year and a half. To remedy the situation I have turned off the automatic braking feature off, since it does not work. And on the contrary it actually makes the SUV feel more unsafe.
In parking garage the emergency stop engages every floor while going up the ramp and also finding a parking space. Speed will be 15mph or lower and will cause the breaks to slam potentially causing a wreck everyday I work in the area due to all the cars being so close together.
Trouble with the electronics from new. Occasionally when I hang up the phone on bluetooth, the radio volume is full blast. It does adjust the volume after a couple seconds. Then the aeb was engaging when there were no obstacles, not going up a ramp, nothing. This occurred at lower speeds, three times in a parking deck and once in a parking lot. So I mentioned it and the 'advisory' card I received from Nissan when I brought it in for the 15k oil change. The dealer told me they did a sw upgrade and all was well. Driving the car the next day and the power steering was out (warning light on), aeb warning light on and the climate control was completely black. Took it back to the dealership, where it has been for over two weeks now. They said they have tried new computer modules, but cannot seem to get it resolved. The electronics never seemed right with this vehicle and I am concerned about the safety of it now.
Bought a new 2018 Rogue sv on 5/8/19 & have had continuous & unfixed problems with it. With 165 miles on the car, I took this Rogue to the lebrun dealership in auburn, NY to correct 2 problems: 1 was the "repeated and very noticeable vibrations in the steering wheel & body of the car. " and other electrical problems. Brought the Rogue back to lebrun 5 more times to get these noticeable vibrations corrected. Both the owner & Nissan factory rep. Drove the car and both agreed that I had vibrations in the steering wheel, etc. Why? their answers were: "it has something to do with the transmission. " if Nissan knows what the problem is, why are they continuing to sell these cars with a known engineering designed-in defect? I asked for my money back but lebrun won't because he didn't build the car. And Nissan? they too refused & honor their warranties and promises. I find that the dealership owner, Nissan & the factory rep. To be corrupt and unethical in refusing to live up to their published warranties and promises. The fact that Nissan & lebrun have known about these severe vibration problems for years & the factory rep. Had "determined my vehicle was operating as designed" is untrue. Nissan has refused to fix this engineering designed-in flaw is truly unacceptable & borders on the criminal, especially for the fact that they're still there in the 2019 and 2020 Rogue models. I drove a 2020 Rogue with the owner and the vibrations are still there. Also, this 2018 Rogue has various electrical problems, such it kept, & still does at times, change my settings from fm to cd, xmradio to am, etc. ; keeps blowing a 20 amp fuse when I tried to install a multi-outlet device & plugged in a dash cam & a radar detector. Also, if I just plug in my radar detector, shut off the ignition & open any door, the radar detector turns on. Electrical problems galore.
First issue was about a month ago and was the navigation screen. It would not turn on when car was on and would go blank. I took to the dealership and they just reset and update. Some weeks pass by and the second time I have an issue was within this past week and was again because navigation screen was doing it again and going blank, not working but on top of several extras. I was in our parking lot going to park my car so I was going about 7-10 miles per hour and all of a sudden out of nowhere my car came to an abrupt halt! it breaked on its own and there were no active vehicles pulling out for it to do that. It did it 3 times on 3 different occasions but the last one scared me because I did have vehicles behind and I would have been hit, it would not have been their fault if my car was acting up as such. Then a week later I had random lights on my dashboard turn on with no reason to light up, all this while driving a regular 40 mph road, I had in one day the collision light, the abs and the ! turn on at different times. So I take it back to the dealership on 5-20-19 only for them to update and reset again. My car is too new to be doing that.
Over the past 3 months, while driving on the highway, I would hear a series of 3 beeps and the collision detect warning light would light up for a brief moment. This has happened about 6 times. On one occasion the vehicle slowed down briefly as well. However, last week while driving on a residential street near my home, driving about 25 mph, the vehicle made the 3 beep sound and this time came to a sudden and extreme stop. It also made a grinding noise which I assume was from the brakes being applied suddenly.
Car will say obstruction ahead while in motion and then dead stop. This happens in parking garages, if the road has a dip and a puddle, under bridges, going at speeds from 5-15mph. Most recent time happened may 5 2018, this time it dead stopped with a red photo meaning collision in the garage, nothing was in front of the car the car was in motion when it stopped, the breaks were rock solid, car took time to move after gas pedal was hit. This is a multiple time incident.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue sport. The contact stated that since she had taken ownership of the vehicle from a dealer, the ignition key was loose and required to be pressed and turned several times forcefully inside the ignition switch in order to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact later received recall notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v093000 (electrical system), which she related to the failure. The local dealer was contacted and replaced the ignition key with a non-folding key. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the non-folding key she had received from the dealer was a temporary remedy. The contact stated that she was unsatisfied with the interim remedy. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000. Unable to confirm parts not available.
