Brake Grinding Noise problems of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

1 Brake Grinding Noise problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2020

On 5 separate occasions prior to the date listed, the automatic emergency braking system activated for no apparent reason. At approximately 30 mph on a relatively straight sections of road with no obstructions and clear road ahead. The brakes activated without a warning creating a rapid deceleration and a severe grinding noise. Though no accident occurred had it been in traffic the results would most likely have been the vehicle being struck from the rear. The dealership states that there appears to be no obvious issues and can't recommend a fix. The employee I spoke with in the dealership service department stated that there are known issues but no recalls or corrective actions have been made for this particular vehicle.

2 Brake Grinding Noise problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

I purchased the car on August 30, 2019 and several times while backing out of the garage, with a slight decline, or close to the garage door edge, or close to a truck in the garage, brakes were automatically engages making a sudden stop with a grinding noise. On Saturday 2-1-2020, my wife was backing out of a shopping center parking space and she said when she applied the brakes the car would not stop and she hit a car parked in a space behind her. She fanatically says she was pressing the brake pedal. There was no damage to either car. I have not made any contact with a Nissan dealer.

3 Brake Grinding Noise problem

Failure Date: 12/13/2019

Aeb light comes on when no other vehicles are present. It has stayed on for about 15 minutes with no traffic around while driving 35-55 mph. It has also made a a grinding noise and engaged the brakes while going slowly with no car or object nearby at about 35mph. Light has also been on while stopped with no vehicles around.

4 Brake Grinding Noise problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2019

I was driving at approximately 25 mph with my foot on the gas pedal when the car began to automatically brake and made a grinding noise. The automatic braking lasted for a few seconds. It was a clear sunny day with no cars in front of me and nothing in the roadway.
