The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the forward collision avoidance system activated briefly and applied the automatic emergency braking system, and the vehicle quickly decelerated. The contact stated that system activated without any other vehicles or objects nearby. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The forward collision avoidance warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,500.

2 Forward Collision Avoidance problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2023

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the digital screen would power off or reboot independently. In addition; while driving at various speeds during rainy weather conditions, the forward collision assist would independently disengage. No warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed however, the diagnosis was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

3 Forward Collision Avoidance problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2021

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue sport. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that an unknown alert was displayed. The contact was almost rear-ended due to the failure. The oncoming vehicle had to swerve to avoid rear-ending the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The contact stated that the forward collision avoidance system was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was informed that the vehicle was picking up a nearby frequency. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
