2 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/03/2025

The ok button on the steering wheel collapsed in causing the dash menus to choose random settings and turn them on or off. In the dash selection, controlled with this, is the crash detection on the vehicle, causing the menu to cycle through and turn off and on these settings also. There’s blind spot, alarms, lane departure, driver assistance, and backup sensors. There’s vehicle’s safety features are controlled in the dash menus. The cruise control button is also sticking resulting in the cars speed to change whenever. This is a known issue with Nissan but still refuse to do anything about it after the bumper to bumper warranty period is over, even though it includes safety features. They also want us to pay $170 dollars just for them to say “yes the bottons are broken. ” several forums have confirmed this is a problem that Nissan is well aware of. Someone mentioned their 2023 went through 3 steering wheels because of this issue and it was within the warranty period, so Nissan replaced the steering wheels (you can’t just replace the button modules).

3 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/23/2024

I took my car to the Nissan dealer because sometimes when I am stopped with my foot on the brake the engine will start to accelerate trying to overcome the brake. The only thing I can do to stop this is turn off the engine. This has happened 4 times in the last month and not before. The dealer was unable to find anything wrong and could not duplicate this action. I have now been referred to Nissan consumer affairs, bureau of automobile repair, new motor vehicle board and now your agency, I feel that this vehicle to drive because it could cause damage to me, my car and the the public. The last time this occurred I was stopped coming out of shopping center waiting for the traffic to clear when the car started accelerating which would have pushed me into the oncoming traffic. Hopefully, you'll be able to help me as now of the above mentioned agencies have been able to help. The only date I can give you for certain was 12/23/2024.

4 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2025 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/11/2024

I took ownership of this vehicle on December 11, 2024. Here are some of the problems I've encountered with this 2025 Nissan Rogue sl model: (1)blind spot, lane departure has been malfunctioning as of 12-11-2024. (2)the seat belt symbol started malfunctioning a few days later. The red seat belt sign on the dashboard remains on for an extended period. (3)the am/ fm radio was working for a short time then off and on. Whenever the am/fm radio goes out, sirius xm radio remain strong. I brought the SUV back to the leasing company twice after which they programmed and reset the radio and the safety features. It seemed to work for a day. I called the leasing company and they said that I should take the Rogue to one of Nissan's service departments for a diagnostic workup. I made an appointment with the service dept. Where the technician spent a good amount of time going over the vehicle.   we then took a test drive where he explained how the system worked. The tech said that this vehicle’s blind spot kicks in after it reaches 30 miles according to the training video. He went on t say, in addition you have to press the blue blind spot logo to activate the system. I  took the vehicle to the Nissan service.   since driving this Nissan Rogue another problem occurred that complicates all of the other issues above. That is this dangerous rear lift gate. Let me be clear, I’m a disabled veteran and all of these safety components are extremely important to my family. I can’t afford to worry or be hit again by this lift gate. This lift gate has hit me twice which organizing my belongs in this new SUV. Whenever your working near the rear bumper the rear lift gate is likely to come down! I’m back from the holidays and this vehicle is going back to the Nissan service dept again. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

6 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/22/2024

The infotainment system goes black intermittently & frequently- when this occurs, there is no access to any cameras and if it occurs while backing out, the mirrors self-adjust down (for the camera?) and therefore, you are unable to even user your sideview mirrors. I have contacted Nissan corporate-they deny any issues but the local dealership told me there is a software problem similar to the 2022 issue (recall) but there is no solution because this is a new problem with 2024.

7 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/10/2023

After occasional intermittent warnings (lasting 1-2 driving session with several months between warnings), the vehicle developed a persistent malfunction warning within 2-3 minutes of starting the vehicle. This warning indicated a fault with the lane assist camera that also disabled the vehicle's automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and all adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance features in the car. Vehicle effectively has no operating adas features. Dealer was able to confirm malfunction warning and found dtcs c1b00 and c1b00-49 (camera unit malfunction). Dealer indicated replacement of camera was only solution available, and that it would not be covered by manufacturer warranty, despite the malfunction disabling several safety-critical adas features of the vehicle unrelated to the lane assist camera.

9 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/26/2023

My backup camera was intermittent and then stopped working. Had extended warranty and got backup camera replaced. Worked for 2 weeks than was intermittent again. Brought back into dealership and was told that it was the wiring harness inside the back tailgate that was the issue. In order to fix the whole back tailgate of my 2021 Rogue sv awd had to be replaced. Camera only works 2% of the time. Nissan won't take care of the problem.

10 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/10/2022

Out of the blue my vehicle suddenly displayed a "warning malfunction" and a symbol that indicated it was related to the blind spot warning system. The car was being driven on a straight side road without any other traffic at the time. The problem is intermittent. It was seen by the dealer and they confirmed that the problem is with the side radar control unit. The dealer also indicated that it is not under warranty (the vehicle has 38k miles on it). Searching online it appears to be a known issue, but no recall yet provided. I strongly believe this is a safety issue, as the sightlines of the car seemed to be a secondary thought since the system was installed. No accident was involved. The car still needs this to be corrected, and we will try to get recourse from the dealership where we purchased the vehicle second hand.

14 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/04/2021

The bsw worked however the engineering of this particular bsw on this model is such that I feel it did not provide the queues in such a manner as to gain immediate visual/audible attention. The bsw is positioned inside the vehicle to the left and right near the sideview mirrors but obscured enough in one's vision that it does not gain ready attention. The audible portion is not adjustable in volume and when on a busy interstate with navigation guiding you it is very difficult to hear. I was in blind spot collision accident on 10/4/2021 in va on 395s at 3:30pm est. I looked, looked again and did not see the vehicle in my blind spot and I genuinely feel that the bsw in this vehicle is not sufficient to alert a driver in those conditions in a manner that garners the drivers immediate attention. Having been placed in rental vehicle that has the bsw warning embedded in the sideview mirror itself I find that to be a much more immediate attention grabber than Nissan's bsw construct in my vehicle such that I have purchased aftermarket bsw mirrors to place on my sideview mirrors to prevent /assist with this issue.

15 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/18/2021

I was driving down the highway at 50 miles an hour when suddenly my collision alarm started "beeping" and the brakes activated causing the vehicle to suddenly slow down, while making a grinding sound and caused the steering wheel to shake. There were no objects in front of me and thankfully there were no cars directly behind me, that could have struck my vehicle due to the sudden unexpected stop.

16 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/01/2020

Three separate incidents have happened since leasing this car on Sunday evening on November 1, 2020. The first 2 happened shortly after I left the supermarket, I was pulling out of a parking spot & checked all my mirrors and windows prior to pulling out when I felt in gut that something wasn't right, I covered my brakes while slowly pulling out and asked my son to check out on the right side of the vehicle and there had been a child inches away from my car and I did not see nor was alerted by the vehicle. The second, incident happened when I returned home with the groceries and my children were exiting the vehicle with the groceries, my son then came back to check to see if I needed something else carried upstairs and I did not see my son as I began pulling off, my son children both yelled in voices of distress. . Mom! stop!!! I said, what happened, he said you almost ran me over. Again, the vehicle failed to alert me that someone was in an area that I couldn't see. I couldn't live with myself if I caused bodily injury to my son that could potentially cause grave danger, loss of a limb or death. The third incident happened on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at approximately 2:46pm, I had been driving cautiously as I do adhering to the speed limit, I noticed a bicyclist pedaling along his way, it seems as if we were heading towards the same direction so I proceeded to drive cautiously as I was approaching an intersection to make a left, I checked all three mirrors and even looked back didn't see him so I began to make a left as I was turning left I could see him in my peripheral vision approaching the cross walk. I immediately stopped my vehicle giving him the right way and thanking god that I did not hit him. Again, my vehicle did not alert me that he was anywhere near my car meanwhile he was extremely close,.
