Doors Lock Problems of Nissan Rogue

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and occasionally while the vehicle was idling, the door locks would lock and unlock independently. The contact stated that all four doors were making a vibrating sound while driving. While driving at approximately 50 mph, the driver’s side rear door was able to be opened while the door was locked. The contact had to pull over to close the door. The message indicating that the trunk was ajar was displayed even though the trunk was closed and securely locked. The dealer had been informed of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,456.

Driver side rear door lock electrical actuator will not lock or unlock the door. Door has to be manually unlocked. In the event of an emergency, it will delay the egress of a passenger in the rear seat. The issue would make it near impossible to unlock the door in an emergency especially if it were submerged in water. This is a safety issue and has occurred on a number of these Nissan vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the doors failed to unlock with the key fob. The contact was unable to exit the vehicle. The key failed to fold into the key holder and stayed opened. The contact had to use the interior button to open the doors. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 23v093000 (electrical system) but failed to prevent the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
